As the World Turns - MESSAGE BOARDS

I read where ATWT last air date will be the end of the
year... Guiding Lights will be mid September... The net work chose to pull the plug on both soaps.

I can only assume from lack of viewers. Sponsors will not
pay for a small audience. I remember when it was the top
soap for at least 10 years.

I've been a viewer since 1958.. It will be an end to a GREAT SOAP era.

Guiding Light Message boards are asking where are the actors going???

Same could be said for ATWT actors...

The N.Y. Post had an article in January of 2009 regarding the President of the network saying that "Guiding Light" would be removed and replaced with a game show. The President also said ATWT is not safe at all..

I've read on several web-sites where they say it will be removed the end of the year and some say, some time in 2010.

I read on another website that, LifeTime on Cable, is thinking of taking Guiding Light.. since there are 2 million viewers. Nothing has been said about ATWT... Probably too soon.

Both of these two soaps are at the bottom for viewing... Sponsors will not pay for a low viewing audience.

I know there is a Soap Cable network... who knows??? they might both end on there.

Many of the soaps are on there now.....

ATWT is renewed until September 2010.

They where told,That they had 12 months to get there ratings up.I think ATWT will be the next to get the axe,After all GL ex head writer is now ATWT head writer.

They might as well go ahead and cancel ATWT if they aren't going to write an end to this stupid luke and noah storyline. It is a wonder ATWT has held on this long, the only thing saving it is the other good storylines that counter balance the stupid stuff like luke and noah.
Poor GL didn't have anything good to counter act natalia and olivia, so you can see what happen to them, CANCELED!
I hadn't heard anything about the show being canceled until that ridiculous storyline started.
Take note ATWT, AX the luke and noah dead horse of a storyline.

I actually read the same thing in Soaps in Depth (CBS edition) and I was wondering if there is some type of letter writing campaign or something to let the PthatB know that we will not stand for another daytime drama's cancellation. I was crushed when Another World was taken off the air 10yrs ago and I will feel the same when Guiding Light goes off air! SAVE AS THE WORLD TURNS!!!

P.S. Luke and Noah's storyline right now is lame because they keep trying to add uneccesary characters to shake up the plot. Let Nuke be and stop adding in extraneous characters to break them up!!!

Cancel this show already I have been watching for 10 years it sucks now.


As for the nuke comment they brought a huge rating boost.


The ratings went down immediately when liberty and Janet were introduced and countinued on a downslope slide that is a fact check the ratings data everytime liberty andJanet were on ratings were low.
