How dare Teri take Liberty for an abortion without telling Janet what's going on. She hasn't seen Janet in 15 years and just met Liberty. She has no right to do this behind Janet's back and especially with Craig's help. What are they thinking???

Liberty is of age and can do what ever she see is best.I would hope she would think about adoption instead of an abortion. So many people who would love to have a child. Now if Janet finds out I am guessing that it would be her wishes to raise the child or adoption.I am not seeing her as the abortion person.Teri can talk with Liberty but she cannot decide for her.Liberty is making her own choice as of now.Yet I am hoping that she goes to her mother and decides what to do.Liberty has pretty much had an open relationship with her mother most of the time and am hoping she will go to her mother for some good old one on one talk. We'll see.

Great post!! The choice IS Liberty's. I believe she doesn't want Janet to know, at all, because she doesn't want to disappoint her. Also, I honestly think Janet, after blaming herself for 9 months, make Liberty keep the baby, even if Janet raises it herself. I know a lot of people think she should just tell and carry to term and give it up, but if she can't and doesn't want to, that should be her decision. One thing this story line proves is how sex and teens can equal disaster. It also proves how important both parties use protection. Janet said she was glad Liberty was on the pill. Obviously, he needed that condom as well.

Liberty is a kid and she hasn't been making very good choices lately. Craig is not her parent, Teri is basically a stranger. She should talk to her mother and ask her to back her up no matter what she decides. She can make any choice she wants to but she should speak to her mother first. Craig should tell her that and if Teri wants to be any kind of Aunt she should too.

Honestly this has nothing to do with Janet. I understand she's Liberty's mother but Liberty said herself that her mom is against abortion. Liberty doesn't need her mothers consent so she doesn't have to tell her if she doesn't want to. And Teri is just trying to be there for Liberty.

Liberty needs a sounding board, she needs people to talk to that will listen and not judge. And it just happens that she finds that in Teri and Craig.

Does anyone believe that if Liberty told Janet from the beginning, that Janet would have even listened with Liberty mentioned abortion?? I understand Janet has a right to her opinion (pro-life) but Liberty also has a right to her opinion (pro-choice) and making her own decision.

Libery needs to talk to someone who loves her. Craig and Teri might care about her, to a certain degree, but she needs to speak to someone that truly loves her. She should speak to Janet or Brad. She doesn't have to do what they advise but she should hear them out.
Liberty has made some really poor choices lately because she hasn't stopped to think or even ask advice. She is in no shape to decide anything right now. She should step back, speak to her parents, get their advice, weigh her options and then decide what is right for her. Parents can be suprising sometimes - they may actually just listen and offer to get behind her.

I think Brad would go all cave man... Janet would probably be the best choice after all she's been there and got the T-shirt. I think if she's afraid to talk to her mama alone that talking Katie into going with her would I think the best route. The reason I say KAtie is b/c not only does she love Lib she also has a loving relationship with all the family. If Terry takes over or goes to I don't think it will go over as well. JMO

Libs is 17 and doesn't need her mom's knowledge or permission to get an abortion. It's her body, her baby and her decision. Teri is being a good aunt by just supporting her decision and helping her out without telling Janet. Libs is afraid of hurting and disappointing her mom..she knows that teen pregnancy is the one thing Janet never wanted for her daughter. Not to mention that if and when Brad finds out...Tony's pretty much dead. He nearly killed Leo when he attempted to rap Libs and he was ready to kill Parker when he found out he'd slept with Libs...and Parker is his nephew! He won't hesitate...and he'll be disappointed in Libs too. Now he's got a pregnant wife and a pregnant daughter...lucky Brad, eh? LOL. Good luck Liberty...do whatever you think is best. Haters of her decision, back down cuz its a soap and its her body anyways...she wants an abortion for her not you. If you anti-abortionist people don't like abortion don't get one...but don't tell another woman what to do with her body...stay out of everyone else's wombs, including Liberty's even if she is a soap character. I get so annoyed with anti-abortionists sometimes...you don't have to like abortion but no one is forcing you to get one....don't force anyone else not to get one...it's a women's choice to rid herself of an unwelcomed guest, okay? Seriously...

Seriously, who has posted anything here that is anti-abortionist. Most of the posts advise Liberty to seek advice b4 making a decision. The fact that she is in the mess she is shows she is not thinking clearly. If she didn't want an unwelcomed guest she shouldn't have opened the door to one. Keep the baby, put it up for adoption or have an abortion - but she should speak to her parents first.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion - no one said they were annoyed with yours. Seriously.

Sometimes the people who love you the most are the hardest to talk to about this issue. Liberty knows that Janet will be disappointed but also would immediately take over the situation without too much thought to what Liberty wants. Lib needs to take a few more days and talk seriously with Craig and Teri, if these are the people she can confide in.
This sounds callous but Liberty doesn't ever have to tell her mother if she chooses not to. But she has to be able to handle any regrets that may come later.

No one said she had to tell anybody anything. I just don't understand how it is helpful to tell Teri (basically a stranger) and take her advice or to seek help and advice from Craig (no relation-not really even a friend). If she wants someone to tell her what she wants to hear then fine but that is not real advice. When someone is in trouble they do not always do the right thing, encouraging any 17 year old to make decisions like that on their own when they have people that care about them (really care about them)is just not right. The decision is theirs but they should be honest about what is going on. Parents can voice any opinion they like but a 17 year old can do whatever they like. They should however hear all sides of an issue. Her parents should be aware of what is going on - if only as a shoulder to cry on, someone to lean on or someone to care for her if there were complications.

In an ideal world Liberty should be able to go to her mother and tell her she is pregnant and what she is considering. But Liberty fears disappointing her mother and also knows that Janet may make this her decision. Liberty does not want to hurt her mother. we all probably remember that any decisions we made at 17 did not involve much long range thinking. This is why she needs a trusted adult to pont out the consequences of any decision she might make. Although I hate Craig getting involved ( you just know everything will be his fault) if that is who Lib can talk to now, so be it.

I just hope Parker doesn't take the heat!!

While I agree with telling ones parents in a situation like this, once Liberty does, the decision will no longer be hers because Janet is going to force her to do what she wants her to do!! Liberty is not strong enough to stand up to Janet, so while she does indeed need to tell her mom, her mom needs to be quiet for a second and listen to Liberty. Janets past indcates that is not about to happen, she is just going to go bonkers and start yelling at everyone. Do not envy Libs in all of this, but she should have thought about what could happen when you have unprotected sex...this is the ole if you dance you must pay the fiddler theory!!! Hopefully it will all have a good ending.

I'm a little offended by your comment. I might be taking it a little to personal (sorry in advance if I am). But are you saying her Aunt can't truly love her. I know they haven't known each other for that long, but there still family. I love my niece's and nephews with all my heart.

You might think that since Teri just recently met Liberty that she doesn't already love her but I don't think that's true. I have a nephew that I've only met twice cause he lives on the other side of the county. I love him just at much as the ones who live close to me and that I see all the time.
