As the World Turns - MESSAGE BOARDS

There is an article from Daytime Confidential that the current writers of the soon to be defunct Guiding Light will join ATWT. I don't mean to sound negative, but those writers have destroyed such a classic soap like GL and now they are going to ruin ATWT. ATWT ratings have declined, but that show has some potential, good actors/actresses all they need is creative writers. What is the tptb thinking when they hired those GL writing rejects? Dont they want to save the show? I guess not. Sometimes I have to wonder if there is really a conspiracy going on to cancel Proctor and Gamble Soaps on CBS. You think after all these years of ratings erosion they would try to make some drastic changes towards improving ATWT. If those writers didn't make a postive difference on GL, what does tptb think they can on ATWT. Good bye ATWT.

GL biggest issue is budget. Some of the stories were good and the worst writer is gone! Sad about GL. IMO they have some of the best actors on TV...daytime OR primetime.

I guess we can see the writing on the wall. They butchered the greatest soap ever, so it is only a matter of time

I love GL, and happy with the story lines

i guess atwt will be off the air really soon.. the gl writers could not write at all, now they will be even more horrible

For the poster who was quite happy with GL storylines, I say God Bless you!
For me....I've been watching GL since the late 60's and I rarely tune in these days. I have more entertainment for that time slot with Judge Judy.
There is talent on the GL writers team and I'm hoping that if any of them do come aboard ATWT, that they pump more life into this soap. I like some of the current sparks on ATWT (with the new Craig a nice surprise) but most other storylines need help.
