How many of you were as glad as I was to see Liberty set Parker straight on yesterday's epi? I am not a Parker fan at all. I understand that he's a kid with abandonment/anger issues with a mom who's a closet alcoholic and his parents have multiple marriages between them. I know he's been through alot for a kid his age and he's due some acting out, lashing out. But I'm tired of his obnoxious behavior being excused. I won't even get into the way he speaks to his parents. I'll just concentrate on the way he treats the girl he maintains that he, professes to love. |

I won't even get into the way he speaks to his parents. I'll just concentrate on the way he treats the girl he maintains that he, professes to love. With the help of her mom, she slowly realized that their impulsive marriage at their age was doomed to failure. She tried to rectify it. She's tried to be sensitive to his feelings, tried to understand that he is still in love with her and even taken responsibility on herself for his recent reckless actions and decisions. You can't help but feel a little sorry for Parker. It's not easy; it's never easy when feelings of love-or what we think is love at that age-goes unrequited, but that is not a free pass to act the way he does. Liberty tried to be his friend. Most people know that it's too soon to be friends. Only after a certain passage of time, when both people in the relationship have moved on, is friendship even a possibility. Maybe the fact that they haven't realized this is the writers way of showing how really young these two are. At this stage, it's too soon and if there's intimacy, it's just breakup/make-up sex, and in Parker's case, it's just the unrealistic hope that he can convince Liberty they should get back together and she still feels as he does. Every time he sees her with someone else (girlfriends, a guy), looking like she is enjoying herself, his reaction is the same: he becomes blind with jealousy, flies into a rage (sometimes with violence towards others), lashes out at her saying horrible things to her, then is immediately apologetic about it, and wants to know if they can talk. His excuse is always the same: "I'm sorry. I say things sometimes without thinking. You know that". Is that supposed to be an excuse for disrespecting someone you love? Jumping in her face with accusations about lying to him and they're not even together? Yeah, I know you're sorry but that doesn't change the fact that you say and do these things repeatedly. Yes he's young but young adults can still show maturity. He was old enough to elope and old enough to attempt to become an emancipated minor. He's old enough to accept reality for what it is and deal with it. Well, I guess today Liberty had all she could stand and gave him a much-needed, long overdue reality check. Maybe practically being called a sl_t jolted her. Maybe she finally realized a clean break is the only realistic way and had enough of his possessive, immature, and at times, even scary behavior. Maybe it was just one, loud, publicly humiliating display too many. He already ruined her prom last week and humiliated her in front of most of Oakdale High. Enough already! I just hope Liberty sticks to her guns. Also, I see the lovely transformation of Faith and I do not want to see her with Parker. He always treats her like she's a gnat buzzing around his ear. Maybe it's time to introduce some more teen friends and find another potential love interest for Faith. Parker has way too much growing up to do. JMO. Thanks ITA...First when Liberty was on the show I thought she was too immature for Parker(skipping school and classes and so on)but now I see Lib at a different light and I'm glad she told Parker that she doesn't want to be friends w/him anymore. He's a big leach imo and it's time for him to accept the fact that she's moved on and respect that. I just hope Lib sticks to her guns and doesn't go back and forth w/Parker like she used to before playing head games w/him. I really think Parker thinks that Lib still loves him and that there is hope for them getting back together, but again she's made it crystal clear that she wants him to get lost. Now I think Faith looks absolutely beautiful. She keeps getting prettier and prettier. On yesterdays show she had her bangs pulled back which even made her look more attractive if that's possible. I do hope we see more of Faith and that she gets involved w/some hottee in her age bracket. |

I also agree that Liberty should stick to her guns concerning Parker. Parker's character is outrageously out of control. It must be nice to leave you job when you want to and go and insult your ex-wife/friend with accusations and insults. |

It is a shame that Parker has taken to stalking. Liberty is trying to help him but I don't think she can at this point. Parker needs more counseling, dealing with Carly who at this point is a bad influence (making deals with him to keep quiet about her alcoholism, while she overlooks his bad behavior.) has to be taking a toll. This boy needs help, he has been though alot. When he gets the proper help he will be a good kid again. Maybe at that time he and Faith will be good for each other. |

I agree that Parker needs a lot of help. He's been through hell especially w/his mom's drinking. I think Faith will be good for him as well if they just stick to being friends. He's not ready for a relationship right now. He just needs a good friend and I believe Faith can do that. |

Thanks You do realize more than likely, esp since she has had a crush on him forever, he and Faith will eventually get together? I think she will be the one to set him straight and get his mind off Liberty. However, my question is will Liberty see the Parker she fell in love with then and want him back? |

I was so glad to see Liberty finally set Parker straight. It's time for those two to move on. I agree that they may be setting Faith up to be Parker's next girlfriend. At this point, Faith seems really young and inexperienced to be with Parker but maybe they will continue to "age" the character. One thing though, I hope they don't replace the current Faith because they want to rev up the relationship between the two characters. |
