URGH! Dusty and Jack (Thursday 5/7 episode)

What is going on with these two guys? They are supposed to be the Moral Men of Oakdale. They are supposed to fight for law and justice and instead they're both doing everything they can to make Craig look like a murderer.

Dusty's manufacturing evidence.

Jack refuses to look at any other suspects.

I wouldn't be so upset but this is completely out of character for both men! Since Dusty came back from the dead he's been on one rampage or another (first Paul, now Craig) ... and since Jack married Janet he's been off the charts strange!

What do you think? Do you like the changes in Jack and Dusty? Or do the Old Jack and Old Dusty need to come back fast?

I cannot believe how stupid Dusty is...oh and desperate.
I hate that Jack preaches morality, and then tries to send Craig away for a crime there is no evidence he committed...tsk tsk.
I have to admit, it's a waste of talent to bring Dusty back for these silly s/l's
UGGGG!

I don't see any change in either, they both are still fighting evil(craig). Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire, Craig lies, steals, manipulates and blackmails people and no one has a problem with that. First thing Craig did when he came back was frame Brad and blackmail Katie and did he go to jail? NO. So sometimes a man has to do things he isn't proud of for the greater good of others. Taking Craig out of the picture is good for Johnny, Lucy, Carly, and Parker and plenty of other people. So I say do what you have to do to get Craig.

And your wonderful upstanding Craig has never framed anyone - get real Craig needs to hang. BTW, he has Carly the bimbo on his side. Carly the man needer. Didn't Craig frame his sister's husband using another man needing cop bimbo, kill his ex-wife's husband, try to have his daughter kill, use a woman for her mother's company. Yep Craig needs to fry and take the bimbo Carly with him, mother of the year. Dusty needs to get that kid for his. Craig is no father. Sperm donor.

Kristi, I agree with you and I hate the writers for doing what they have to ruin the characters of both these men. Even though Jack has always hated Craig, at least before he would attempt to "do the right thing." Now, he's not even considering it. And, Dusty . . . I won't even start in on the total destruction of this character. But, while we're saying UGH to characters, can we please add Meg to the list? I personally think Paul is a better father than she is mother.

Again that is lying.....That is unacceptable! How can one EVER condone a man of law to LIE to get what he wants.
It is unethical and WRONG on so many levels.
It makes Jack a lying hypocrite...and because he is supposed to have a conscience and uphold the LAW it would make him a piece of trash, lying, good for nothing low life. He would as bad or worse than Craig, because he took an oath to uphold the law for which he preaches so high and mightily about.

actually, no. Craig deserves jail time but for something he did.. the list is long and distinguished and the alibis he has come up with are easy enough to prove wrong. If the cops would just do that.

And no, Jack isn't the devil, but his character is being assassinated...Jack 2009 is not the same Jack from 2008 or even 1999. That Jack was upstanding, a good cop and dedicated father. This Jack wants vengeance - for nothing, other than his ex moving on - and it's silly.

I don't think it has anything to do with Jack being jealous of Craig, I think Jack is scared of what might happen to Parker, Sage and Carly where Craig is concerned. Craig has done everything he could to under mind Jack's parenting and now he has control of Parker's trust fund which means he can get Parker to do anything he wants. Jack isn't going to break the law to get Craig but he is going to do everything the law allows to get the guy, so as long as he doesn't break the law to do it and so far he hasn't then I don't see why people should rag on him.

That is RUDE, and I never said Jack was the devil. READ the post will ya?
Craig is far from an angel, nor is he my favourite character.
Damien is.

He did NOTHING to undermine Jack's parenting. He has been nothing but nice and sweet to those children. Don't forget Parker gave him control over that trust fund, because he trusted Craig and ultimately thought he could get what he wanted if Craig was in control
Craig has done a great job at making Parker realize that is NOT the case.
Jack has already broke the law..sort of. He REFUSED Craig's right to an alibi because he didn't like the witness.
And there is nothing in this case to get Craig on, Jack is wasting his time and barking up the wrong tree. He is clearly jealous that Craig is involved in his family, and that Parker trusts him more than his own father.

This is a typical case of WTF!!!???
Craig gives Parker money to go to a concert after Jack and Carly said no. Craig let's Parker take his car without consulting Jack or Carly first. Craig puts Parker and Liberty up in a motel after Jack kicked them out to try and show some tough love. Craig tells Jack he gave Parker the money Parker stole from Al's when Jack was trying to get Parker to tell the truth and admit what he had done. Craig gives parker $50,000 to spend on whatever he wants. Now none of this seems the least bit underminding to you???

Craig didn't know they weren't allowed to go, he thought their parents couldn't afford it and paid Parker to do a job which earned him the money. Should he have asked? Yes. Craig gave a boy with his license his car to drive, why is that a crime? He has a license, why does he need permission to drive a car? If they didn't want him to drive they shouldn't have let him get his license.
Craig wasn't undermining the parents when he put Parker & Libby in the hotel..he was trying to make sure they were safe. He didn't have an agenda.
Jack was out of line throwing them out of CARLY'S house..thankfully Craig stayed level headed and made sure they had someplace to go.
Giving him the 50,000 was not a great idea, but he was doing it for Parker. To try to take his mind of Libby..and it did help.
Undermining is doing something that has an agenda, to attack, to destroy. Craig was not attempting to do that to those parents.
The Al's thing..you are right about, that was a bad, bad idea. He was totally wrong for doing that, but I stand by my opinion he was not trying to undermine Jack & Carly.
