David's Got a Problem!

Monday, November 23 2009
David learns something shocking, Zach runs off, and Amanda tells someone the truth!

In the hospital corridor, Jake sucker punches David after Amanda tells him not to touch her! Angie comes on the scene and sends David on his way, and then tells Jake he needs to go home. Jake walks out, and Angie questions Amanda not going after him. Amanda tells Angie that Jake thinks David raped her, but he didn't! She tells Angie that she had sex with David willingly - and worse - it was her idea. Angie is bewildered, asking about the artificial insemination. Amanda explains what happened, then says that Jake cannot find out. Angie advises that if she tries to hide this from Jake - she will lose him! Amanda worries that Jake won't be able to stand by her after this, but Angie says although it will be hard to take at first, he'll deal with it. Amanda thinks it's best for both of them to cover it up. Angie promises she won't say anything - it's not her secret to tell!

Scott walks into Annie's hospital room and tells her she made it through surgery - now all she has to do is wake up! Scott sits beside her and tells her that he's finally seen the strong loving woman she really is. David comes in and Scott points out his black eye. David says it's nothing a bag of peas and a stiff drink won't fix! He examines Annie and tells Scott that Annie's in a coma and it's unlikely she'll ever recover. David tells Scott that Adam confessed to Stuart's murder, then notes that Scott doesn't seem terribly surprised about it. Scott asks David to do one thing - a last request for Annie.

Zach arrives at the address where Aidan and Kendall are staying. He looks through the window where Aidan is making love to a woman who looks like Kendall. Kat arrives and goes inside, where Aidan pulls a gun on her. She says it's just her, then lets him know that Zach got an eyeful and took off - just as they planned! The Kendall lookalike panics at the sight of Aidan's gun and starts hollering that she wants more pay. Her voice carries upstairs to Kendall who is lying in bed. Kat and Aidan tell the double to get dressed. Kat tells Aidan that by the look on Zach's face, she doubts he'll be back. Kendall gets up from bed and is puzzled that the door to the room is locked! Aidan comes into the room, where Kendall says she had a dream about Zach - he walked away. Aidan puts his arm around her, then encourages her to send Zach a message on the computer.

Kat comes back to the motel and tells Aidan that she put the lookalike on a bus out of town. He and Kat look at the message Kendall has sent to Zach, saying that she dreamed he left her for good. Kat muses that it's like she's psychic. Aidan decides they'll forward the message as is. They also notice the news story about Adam confessing - Aidan tells Kat that this is a problem - it means Kendall can go home! Kendall, who has also seen the news online, comes into the lobby. She sees Kat first, and explains that she and Aidan have been on the run, but her name has been cleared and they can go home. Just then, Aidan creeps up behind Kendall and chloroforms her!

In the police station, Erica tells Adam that Annie is in the hospital and lost the baby, as well as a lot of blood - she may not survive. Adam gets faint. Jesse and Erica sit Adam down and she fawns over him, which he takes exception to. She walks into the other room where Ryan asks her how Adam is doing. She says he was shaken up by the news about Annie, but she's just overjoyed that Kendall can finally come home. Joe Martin arrives to check out Adam. Joe learns that Adam shot Stuart. Adam says he should forget about taking him to the hospital - he's right where he belongs. Joe leaves, telling Jesse to contact him should Adam have another episode. Scott arrives and asks Jesse to show Adam the taped message from Annie - it looks like she's not going to make it! Jesse takes the tape to Adam, who tells Jesse to get rid of that traitor, Scott. Jesse closes the blinds and implores Adam to watch the footage. He does. Scott comes in and offers proof on paper that Adam was the father of Annie's baby. Scott admits that he was attracted to Annie, but nothing happened. He then tells Adam that Annie could be dying. Adam wants to see her.

Erica goes to Zach's house, where Opal greets her at the door. Erica notes that Zach must have gone to get Kendall and bring her home. She tells Opal that Adam confessed to murdering Stuart. Opal tells Erica that Zach gave her instructions to take Ian over to be with Spike. Erica is puzzled - why would he do that if he's bringing Kendall home? Erica waits for Zach to get home. When he does, he informs Erica that Kendall is still with Aidan, and will not be returning to this house to be with him or the boys. Erica demands answers, but Zach won't say anything. Erica says she'll find Kendall herself and storms out! Zach checks the computer and gets Kendall's message. He begins overturning the furniture in anger. He then picks up a photo of the two of them and smashes it against the wall.

Ryan gets to the hospital with Emma, who wants to know why they are there. Ryan says that her mommy isn't feeling very well, and he thought she would like a visit. He takes Emma into Annie's room, where David steps out of the way. Emma asks Ryan to lift her up so she can kiss Annie's cheek. When Emma leaves the room for a moment, Ryan apologizes to Annie for ever hurting her, saying he's asking her on Emma's behalf to wake up. Erica arrives and asks Ryan to come back to Zach's house with her - maybe he can get answers about Kendall. Ryan tells her that he can't leave right now - Annie may not make it. They turn and watch Adam, who is sitting at Annie's side, begging her to come back to him!

Jake arrives at the Martin house where Krystal notices his demeanor and asks what David has done now?! Jake confides to Krystal that he was under the impression that David raped Amanda. Krystal tells him to trust his instincts - if he feels David hurt Amanda, he's probably right! Amanda turns up at the door, and Krystal excuses herself. Jake begins to apologize to Amanda for the scene at the hospital, but she says she should have let him kill David!

In a room at the hospital, David tells Dr. Hines, who was supposed to do the artificial insemination, that he's set her up with a new job at another hospital. As she's leaving, she asks if he has decided on a course of action to deal with his problem. David is puzzled. She clarifies that she's referring to his motility problem! They look at his file, and David says these numbers can't be right - he and Amanda conceived Trevor together! Dr. Hines says she hates to suggest this, but is it possible he's not Trevor's father?

Uh! I can't stand that David, he got Amanda thinking it was her idea to have sex. He did nothing but manipulate her.

I mean really, I don't recognize Aidan anymore. They could have found a better way to write him out. I still don't understand why they didn't let him make the move and decided to let him go. I hope he shows up on another one of my soaps. Lord knows I watch enough of them, 5 altogether.

I see we have a Joe Martin sighting today.

Oh now, Ryan wants to show Annie some sympathy. I wish she could wake up and slap the tar out of him and his guilty conscience. Dang, Ryan can't even let Emma see her mother without Erica bugging him about Kendall. It's all about Kendall. Dang, let Erica go on a long vacation and take Kendall with her.

Great day in the morning. David is not the father of Trevor. Yippie!

Amanda should have done a dna test on Trevor. She was so sure the timing was off and in no way could he be Jake's. Dang, she slept with that Devil for nothing. I hope Jake doesn't break up with her. I hope they don't drag this out for months.

So that was it for David, after he got Krystal PG his boys dropped?

Krystal looked totally different. Kinda nice. Younger.

I actually went online and checked to see when the character Taylor came on the show, and found out that it was definitely possible for Trevor to be Jake's baby. Because Jake and Amanda didn't break up until he dumped her for Taylor. As for David Hayward, his character has always been ambitious and arrogant, but he's positively evil now. The best news I've heard all day is that Charles Pratt will no longer be head writer. Perhaps now our beloved citizens of PV can get back to the normal abnormality.

With the news of Charles Pratt's dismissal, it looks like we have another 3-6 months of endlessly spinning story lines until a new team is onboard and able to formulate their new plots.

The good news is that the move to LA shake out will be done and the new writing team will know which characters/actors are in the fold and which are gone, never to return. And by 'never to return' I naturally mean will return regardless of how unlikely their departure/death happens.

As for the Aidan/Zendall story line, I have passed the tipping point to where I find I no longer care whether they get back together. It's just too much work for way too little payoff to continue to invest any interest in what happens to either one of them.

My hope for the new writing team:
After four months, Taylor regains consciousness in the ConFusion bathroom and reunites with Tad;

Krystal remembers that she does, in fact, have a spine. Ditto for Amanda. And Marisa.

Janet from Another Planet lands her spaceship in Pine Valley and gives David a thorough spanking. Knowing David, this will likely turn him on.

Greenlee returns from the dead and, during a raucous night of Bunko with Erica, Annie and Kendall, all four women decide that they all think Ryan is a loser.

Tad, Liza, Jesse, Angie, Greg and Alfred attend the 30th reunion of the Pine Valley High School class of 1980, and hijinks ensue. Seriously, new writers, can we just have a story line that is fun? Wouldn't this be fun? Hell YES it would be.

And for good measure, ladies and gentlemen, how about the return to Pine Valley of the wonderful, the delightful, the chock-full-of-storylines Brooke English Cudahy Chandler Martin?

A man can dream. Oh yeah, as long as I'm dreaming, let's figure out how to undead Dixie too.

AMCGuy - I don't know what I'd do without you. I love your storyline suggestions, especially the ones about Janet, Dixie and Brooke. I don't care how they bring her back, Dixie is very integral to this show. Maybe we could even see Dixie and Krystal throw down over Tad. I laughed out loud at the comment about Greenlee, et al deciding that Ryan is a loser. At least after the next 2-3 months, we can hope that our PV'ers will get back to something that approaches their own personal level of stupidity. The recent levels have been off the chain.

Speaking of Brooke, I read that she is returning for the anniversary show.

Posted by beenaroundalongtime at Monday, November 23 2009 12:28 PM

Julia Barr, what a gracious and wonderful woman to agree to return to the show after being unceremoniously dropped without as much as a good-bye or exit storyline.

I look forward to seeing her cheeks again.

Off topic:

Hats off to Ms. Whitney Houston. I saw her last night on the American Music Awards Show.

Don't really get Lady GA GA

Regarding the high school reunion, I neglected to mention that because AMC is strapped for cash, having most of the cast hanging out for several days in the Pine Valley High School gymnasium would be a cost-saving story line, too.

Even better, they could dust off some vintage scenes involving these characters that wouldn't cost them anything...well, other than to somehow superimpose Jamie Luner's face onto Marcy Walker's body for the Liza flashbacks.
