Buried Secret!

Thursday, November 05 2009
Scott realizes that Ryan knows the truth, Amanda worries about her deal with David, and Angie is upset with herself!

At the Chandler Mansion, Annie and Scott bicker as he gets angry that she's left Adam alone at the hospital - he could confess! Annie says he won't - he has to protect the child she's carrying! Scott's jaw drops. Annie explains that Adam values family over everything. Scott accuses her of giving him false hope. Annie says it's not a problem. She whips out a calendar and indicates to Scott just how quickly she could get pregnant. Scott rolls his eyes and says she'd be better off to fake a miscarriage. Annie says she had one - she wouldn't have to fake that pain. Annie says she has a wedding to plan, and hollers for Lucretia - informing her she's going to be her maid of honor! Lucretia insists on a 20% raise to do it!

Jesse questions Adam in the hospital, but Adam covers what he knows and remarks that Jesse and Ryan should give up their witch hunt. Adam asks Jesse to close the case as a wedding gift, as he signs himself out of the hospital. Jesse walks over to Ryan and tells him that none of the evidence points to Adam. Ryan says they can't put this on Emma. Jesse says Annie has already discredited Emma anyway. Jesse hints to Ryan that he should go in and try to get a confession from Adam himself! Jesse slides away, and Ryan saunters over to Adam. They begin bickering right away, as Adam insists Annie didn't kill Stuart. Ryan asks, "Who said anything about Annie?" Ryan starts into him about guilt, saying if he thinks burying his brother was hard, try burying the shame of killing him - everyday for the rest of his life! Ryan continues to work on Adam until Scott comes in. He orders Ryan to stay away from his uncle. Ryan says Scott can't protect Adam from what's going on inside. He then says he wishes Scott wanted justice for his father as much as the rest of them do!

In another part of the hospital, David and Angie hold a press conference, where David announces he's stepping down as Chief of Staff! He says the position will be turned over to Angie, so he can spend more time at home. Jake and Amanda listen in. Angie speaks to the press next, saying she hopes to follow in the steps of Joe Martin. David walks over to see Trevor, and tells Jake and Amanda that he thought it would be nice to free up time with another baby on the way. Jake wryly says he might have waited until she was at least a few months along! David leaves, and Jake asks Angie why Dave really stepped down? Jesse appears and says he wants to know too. Angie says she made a deal with the devil - something Jake and Jesse both know something about! Jesse and Angie step aside and he asks if she threatened to bust David for the pills?! Angie admits it, and tells Jesse just to offer her congratulations.

JR reads the paper in bed beside Marissa. He loves how normal they're acting - he even loves mornings again. Marissa says everything's changed now that he's in remission. JR agrees, and wonders why she's not happier about it! Marissa says they got together right around the time he was diagnosed - the cancer has been there for their whole relationship. Marissa says he was acting like they only had months ahead of them, now they have decades - does he now think he's made a mistake? She offers him the chance to take a break and decide if this marriage is really what he wants. JR asks if she wants a break? She shakes her head. JR doesn't want to go back to who he was before the cancer, and he's excited to make plans. He marvels that cancer has made his life better. They kiss, and then make love.

Jake and Amanda confer in a waiting area of the hospital. Amanda says maybe they can use whatever Angie has against David to make him give up custody of Trevor - then she wouldn't have to get pregnant! Jake is very doubtful. Amanda expresses frustration at the idea of continuing to live with David all these months. Jake says she has the option not to do it, but otherwise, it will all be over in nine months! Amanda gets called in to see the doctor, and Jake tells Trevor the good news is he's getting a sibling, but the bad news is he won't have a face like this - he indicates his own face. He tells the child he doesn't want him to live at David's forever - he loves him too much!

David drops off files at the main desk for Angie, who stops by to pick them up moments later. The nurse tells her she has lots of congratulation messages, and one from her husband asking when she'll be home. Angie looks uncomfortable.

Annie is wrestling Lucretia into the maid of honor dress when Scott comes home with Adam. He is amused at the scene, but Scott suggests that they consider postponing the wedding. Adam won't hear of it, and he embraces Annie happily. Adam leaves, and Annie confronts Scott about his idea to call off the wedding. Scott sighs and tells her that Ryan knows the truth. Annie says all the more reason to rush the wedding. Scott tells Annie forcefully that if she keeps pushing this - she'll kill Adam!

In the doctor's exam room, Amanda learns there is no reason she can't conceive. The doctor explains that they will take a sperm sample from the potential father, but warns that it doesn't always 'take' on the first try - this can be a very long process!

David approaches Jake and Trevor in the waiting room. They bait each other and David delivers the parting shot, "A lot can happen in nine months," before leaving. Amanda then appears and tells Jake what the doctor said about how long it may take. Jake says he'll wait as long as it takes. David watches from a distance as Jake and Amanda embrace.

Ryan gets home and lets the sitter leave. Emma is drawing a picture of her mommy's upcoming wedding. She asks Ryan if he's going - he says he wouldn't miss her as a flower girl. Emma wonders if he's okay with mommy marrying Adam? Ryan dodges that question, but then she asks if he hates mommy. Ryan says he doesn't, and lets her know that he knows the truth now, and she doesn't have to talk about it again unless she wants to.

Angie arrives home to find Jesse has set up a special celebration in honor of her becoming Chief of Staff. She grimly says she wishes he hadn't done this. Jesse says it doesn't matter how she got the promotion - she deserves it. Angie angrily says it matters to her! She compares herself to David, saying she did exactly what he would have done to get what she wanted! Jesse says her motives are what's important - she wants to do good for the hospital! Angie cries.

Adam is at Stuart's grave. He says the only way he can keep the family intact is by not confessing. He tells Stuart the secret is buried with him.

well, I see that Annie is determined to marry Adam come hell or high water! and hell is just what Adam will get if he marries Annie! i hate what the writers have done to Annie's character- she went from being a loving & caring mom and capable woman to this conniving nutcase-sad!

Angie- maybe you got the Chief of Staff the wrong way but you won't need to lurk around corners and blackmail to keep it the way Dr. Demento did!

Amanda- wake up! David means you and Jake no good- please stop with this ill advised nutsy scheme NOW or you will be sorry for the rest of your life! some posters have mentioned bringing Janet from another planet back to deal with our "dear" Dr. David and I concur! she will get him in pocket fast, quick, and in a hurry!! And Jake-get a DNA test NOW- I BET that little Trevor is his and knowing that can stop all this ca-ca really quick too!

Hey sharonski - I don't know how long you've been watching AMC, but for me its getting just too stupid. Yeah, there were always some over the top foolish people, and there were always villains, but they were Fun to watch. I used to love watching Adam and Palmer try to manipulate each other in business, Erica and Brooke fight over everything, especially men, Opal and Phoebe fighting over Langley and then becoming friends. Now Jesse has become an idiot, Amanda went from street-smart to duh! Dr. Demento has become the closest thing in PV to God, with absolutely NO repercussions about anything he does; Ryan went from being a charming con man to a self-righteous prig; Liza is whining over a man that doesn't care a fig about her; at this point, Annie and Emma are at least entertaining because I'm never sure what either of them will do next. Boo hiss on TPTB/TIIC that have completely ruined my favorite show. 37 years of viewing down the tubes.

Amen and Amen again Hiphop! I've been watching AMC since Erica was a teenager and her dear departed mom Mona was a thorn in Phoebe side because of Dr. Tyler- in other words almost from the beginning! it's gone beyond stupid to sad & pathetic! i stopped watching some time ago and now just read the summary and everyone's comments-which, by the way, are far more entertaining than the soap itself (I especially enjoy AMCguy's alternate storylines!). I've resigned myself that, despite all of the longtime & loyal fans protests, the writers will continue to shovel out this **^^ until the show is finally canceled because everyone has stopped watching this drivel.

I tell ya I was LMAO at Annie today, having to bribe the hired help to be her maid of honor.........LOL!

Remember last time Annie tried to get pregnant, she had to take fertility pills.....wonder if she thought about that yet.

Well i don't know aobut the rest of yall but I'll like this Annie over the Damsel in distress one. This one is doing whatever it takes to get her daughter back from Ryan and if that means playing Adam then so be it. It's not like Adam doesn't deserve it after all the evil that he did over the years.
As for Amanda, words can't describe how stupid she is... I think Janet from another Planet is just what that s/l needs.
I hate to say it but for once Jessie was right about something. Angie might've cheated her way to the top, but everyone knows she really deserve it and she make a great Cheif of Staff

Ya know soaplover, I know Annie is the most well-liked character on the show, but I find her and Emma both infinitely more entertaining than the rest of the whiny wimpy women of PV. Erica and Liza were two of the most classic b*****s in the world, let alone PV, now they're mooning over Zach and Ryan? Oh Please! Kendall came to PV with a plan - to ruin her mother and get whatever she could get. She settled the issues with her mother, and was on the road to having everything, then all of a sudden she confesses because a 7-year old girl said she did something? Please, the old Kendall would have eaten Emma for lunch, and Annie too. Right now, I'm pulling for Annie because at least with her I'm watching Adam get his karma, and simply because I never know which direction she's coming from next. Probably the only reason she's entertaining is because determined is Charles Pratt's idea of crazy - at least for a woman.

Sorry - I meant Annie "isn't" the most well-liked character.

The only way I can keep from grinding my teeth over Annie is to see her for the "comic" character she is. Today was hilarious with Lucretia!!! I think ( good or bad) we have all formed an attachment to Adam and really hated to see him being played the fool. I can't imagine how in the world they could ever restore any sanity to Annie's character so why not take her farther over the edge!!?!!

All you AMC old-timers...is this the first time that Lucretia has ever been shown on screen? They used to have Winifred on from time to time, but as far as I can recall, Lucretia has always been like Norm's wife Vera on Cheers, Carlton the Doorman on Rhoda and Phyllis' husband Lars on the Mary Tyler Moore Show (yes, I'm THAT old) - spoken of but never shown.
