Brooding Under His Unibrow.

Tuesday, October 06 2009
Jake bests David, Madison confesses, and Liza tells the truth!

In Frankie's car, Madison asks him what will happen to her at Oak Haven. She tells him he is lucky to have a wife who loves him, then offers the key to her security deposit box. Just then, they are blinded by headlights and swerve off the road. In the ditch, Frankie realizes he can't wake Madison up and checks her over. She stirs just slightly.

Jake arrives at Wildwind, saying he's decided to take Dave up on his offer to spend more time with his family. David decides to go to the hospital. Jake takes Trevor and plays with him. Amanda asks why he's really there. Jake says he regrets the way he acted before. Amanda says she's in an impossible situation. Jake admits that he created it - it's his fault, but says it drives him crazy when he sees her with David. Amanda says Jake has to trust that she can handle herself - and David! Jake tells her he certainly never meant to cause her any hurt. He says he'll fight for them. They discuss David, and Jake points out that he's his own worst enemy. He figures their love will make David implode! It's the strongest weapon in the world. Amanda kisses him, then takes him upstairs to make love. Afterward, they make fun of what it's like to be David, brooding under his unibrow. Amanda giggles, and they agree that they're going to be okay.

Tad and Liza bicker about Bailey at Liza's place. He thinks she should put Stuart first. Liza doesn't want to go back and forth while this girl decides what she wants out of life. Tad discourages her from telling more lies - she should do the right thing and tell the truth. Liza decides she'll tell Bailey the truth and get her to trust her. Tad is skeptical - she's already lied to the girl. Liza shakes her head, and says that she'll have to tell Colby the truth as well. Colby appears and asks, "The truth about what?" Tad sits quietly as Liza tells Colby the whole story. Colby is angry, and asks why she's telling her this now? Suddenly she realizes that Liza had to tell her the truth because Bailey showed up! Colby rails at Liza for lying, saying she's worse than Adam! Liza tells her that she loves her and Stuart more than anything! Colby wonders why she should believe her now?! As Liza tries to tell Colby that she didn't want her to think she was replacing her by adopting - she wanted them to be close again, Colby snaps, "Maybe we should have named him 'bait'!" Colby announces she's moving out and leaves.

Madison's father comes back to the hospital, where Angie and Jesse inform him that their son, Frankie, is taking Madison to Oak Haven - he can go to see her there! The man complains about the mental facility, and Jesse wonders if this is about his image. Madison's father goes off in a huff. Randi appears and isn't pleased when Jesse tells her that Frankie offered to drive Madison to Oak Haven. She tells her in-laws that Frankie was threatening to do away with Madison earlier!

Angie and David are paged in the hospital as Madison is wheeled in from the ambulance. Frankie follows closely behind, and wants to go in to see if he can help. Hayward orders tests on Madison. Her father reappears and rants about the accident - he wants Madison transferred. David says that would kill her. The man orders David to stabilize her. Jesse and Randi ask Frankie what happened - she wonders if he did it on purpose? Frankie lets them know he's had a change of heart about Madison. Randi confronts her husband about his new attitude - does he now think she's guilty of killing Henry North?! Frankie explains about Madison's family. Randi is upset - this is what Madison wants - for him to feel sorry for her!

Frankie is in Madison's room when she wakes up. He tells her that her father is going to have her transferred, but he'll come to keep tabs on her. Madison asks if he's got the key. He nods. She tells him to get the tapes, then confesses to killing her husband!

Liza cries as she holds Stuart in her room. She picks up the phone and calls Bailey, telling her she thinks it's time she met her son!

Tad catches up with Colby in the Yacht Club. He urges her to recognize the courage it took her mother to tell her the truth. Colby says she should have thought of the consequences of lying. Tad says the risk was worth it to Liza. He tells Colby that she can yell and scream all she wants, but ultimately, what Liza did proves she is willing to do anything for her children! Colby tries to explain how she's been smothered by the lies of her parents her whole life - she's done!

Bailey meets Liza in the church and gets to hold her son for the first time. She asks how long she has, and Liza says, "As long as you like." Bailey says she brought him a present and hands the baby to Liza while she gets it. Liza blurts that the baby is hers - she adopted him. The girl wonders why she lied. Liza says she was afraid that Bailey wouldn't understand how much he means to her. Bailey is upset and runs out.

Madison is wheeled out of the hospital and her father assures her she'll have the best care. Frankie tells Randi that Madison confessed to killing Henry - she set her free! Jesse and Angie, however, realize that the key is missing. Angie wonders if it got lost in the crash, but Jesse feels someone may have gotten to it first!

David arrives home, pours a drink, and begins to play the piano. Jake comes down the stairs and David stops. Jake tells him to keep playing - it was deep - brooding almost! Amanda comes down in a robe and kisses Jake goodbye. David sighs.

I'm almost afraid to admit that I feel just a little sorry for Madison. I read yesterday's recap and didn't feel a thing, then watched the show this a.m. - Daddy's a piece of work. I don't necessarily subscribe to the theory that everything wrong in your life is a result of your childhood - it make have an effect, but once you get your own space/place, it's time to take responsibility for your own actions. Problem is she was brought up to "expect" things - money, position, status - and now that Daddy's sick of her games he's cut her off. People like him create serial killers. As for Jake/Amanda/David, et al, it's about time Jake grew a pair. I was really tired of the Oh Poor Pitiful Little Me routine. And apparently so was Tad. If Michael Knight can do the level of acting he is doing with the poor scripts he's been given, I really don't understand why he doesn't have a recent Emmy. Bad, bad Academy.

First, thanks for all the comments about my post yesterday, suggesting AMC devote some solid screen time to the retirement of Joe Martin when his alter ego, Ray MacDonnell, retires rather than move to LA with the rest of the AMC cast.

I would MUCH prefer to spend a couple weeks following that story line, even if it didn't advance any other stories, rather than endure more of the endlessly circling stories we seem to have now in advance of the shift to California.

That said, regarding Madison and the tapes in the safe deposit box: I can guaran-damn-tee you that if I had killed someone, AND if footage of the murder had been captured on security tapes AND if I somehow had managed to get my hands on that tape, I would NOT put it in a safe...I'd have shredded it into a million tiny pieces!

I know the actress that plays Bailey is much younger but she reminds me of the character named Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald on that old soap called "Passions".

AMCguy, I think that is a wonderful idea. Of course, because it is, it will never happen. One of the soap mags made mention of the fact that AMC didn't do anything in its clips to acknowledge Eileen Herlihy's (Myrtle) passing. And even though Ray and Susan Lucci are the last two original cast members, they probably won't do anything for him either. The level of loyalty by TPTB at AMC is about equal to that of a dog to a cat.

I have no sympathy for Madison whatsoever. Alot of people have horrible parents and don't plot against people like she has the Hubbard family. Sorry she is jealous because their family has so much love and hers doesn't. Get over it. Or better yet, find a new man (she is beautiful so probably no problem there especially if she would sweeten up her personality) and start a family and give them all the love you never received and get that same love in return. If someone mistreated the ones I love like she has done to Frankie, no way would I feel sorry for her !

Someone said that they're not feelin' Liza as an actress. I have to agree. She always has the same squinty eyed expression on her face and her emotions don't tug at your heart the way that they should. Maybe this just isn't the right role for her...but we're probably stuck with her. On another note, she is very pretty.

Yes, I felt a tad bit sorry for Madison too. Especially after how her father spoke to her and we do know how Henry treated her.

I think Tad finally got thru Jake yesterday. Today, Jake seems different. At least the part of the show I saw today. Let David dig his own grave, so to speak.

Can't wait to see the look on David's face when Jake and Amanda came down the stairs.....LOL

Poor Colby....with parents like Liza and Adam, she has been lied to pretty much her whole life.....do not blame her for being royally pissed at Liza for this latest lie.

Posted by HipHopGrandma at Tuesday, October 06 2009 12:32 PM

Jumps - good point about Colby. Poor child - 1st her father lied to her mother about the fact that he was even her father (anyone remember Adam buying the fertility clinic?), then Liza takes off with her telling her how bad Adam is, then she decides Liza's lying and comes back, only maybe mama wasn't so wrong after all; then she finds out about the whole Jake/Fertility clinic thing; now she finds out mama was never pregnant. I'd run like hell from that family. They're nuts!!!
