Borrowing Courage.

Friday, September 11 2009
JR opens up, Tad and Taylor fall out, and Jake pays Amanda a visit.

Marissa and JR come into the cabin after fishing. She notices that he doesn't seem well - he says he's just tired. She wonders what David is getting up to at home. He doesn't want to talk about David. She agrees - as long as he won't talk about Babe! JR agrees, but they don't seem to know what else to talk about. JR tells Marissa the legend of Lover's Leap. She wants to go jump tomorrow, but JR declines. She's puzzled, and asks him to tell her the truth about what's going on with him. He studies her for a moment and then says, "Okay." JR lets her think he's been drinking and that he's drying out right now. She is ticked off, but softens when he explains that he brought her along because he really wanted to be with her. JR swears her to secrecy. She asks if there is any alcohol stashed - he says no. He talks about his 'disease', and Marissa listens. She says they'll get through this together. She remembers when they first met, and pays him some compliments. She offers to lend him her courage, and they kiss. JR pulls back, and she wonders what is wrong. JR hesitates, but then tells her he has cancer!

At ConFusion, Taylor tells Tad that she is thinking of opening her own bar. He is distracted, and apologizes for not paying attention. Jake comes in and orders a drink. He laments that David has his wife and child and he'll try to marry Amanda. Tad tries to reassure him, and they bicker. Taylor intervenes - telling Jake to just take control! Jake gets up and leaves abruptly and Taylor is taken aback when Tad tells her to keep her opinion to herself next time! Taylor tells Tad that he's just annoyed with himself - because he wouldn't fight for Amanda the way Jake is! They bicker, and she ends up walking out on him!

David, at Wildwind, tells Amanda to choose between her crying baby and her husband. She hollers that that's not a choice and he knows it! She plunks her wedding ring on the table and goes to the baby. David picks up the ring and grins. When she comes back into the room, he apologizes for his behavior, then launches into the reasons why Trevor belongs there. Amanda says he belongs in a happy home full of love - and she'll never love him!

As Liza sits with Ian on the sofa at Zach's house, she hears a noise - it's Kendall lurking. Zach comes through the front door just then and she tells him there is someone in the house! Zach makes a show of checking, then says there's no one there. Liza asks how things went with Annie. Zach deflects her questions and the pair laughs with Ian. Liza brainstorms ideas of how to get Annie and Emma together, but Zach doesn't want to use Emma. As Liza leaves, she suggests a play date for the boys. Once she's out the door, Kendall pops out and tells Zach that that woman needs a reality check! Kendall says she heard Liza wishing that her son had a great dad like Zach! He says he'll handle it, but Kendall says part of her problem is that she doesn't know where they stand! He doesn't have answers for her. Zach insists he has no feelings for Liza - she's just there as a lawyer. Kendall hollers that she can handle their divorce! She challenges him to make love to her. Zach wants to deal with things one at a time. Kendall goes back to writing - this time about a woman trying to steal another woman's man!

Liza arrives at ConFusion as Taylor is walking out on Tad. Liza tells Tad, "That looked messy!" Taylor is stopped by Brot, who wants to round up Frankie and get a drink to remember 9/11. They leave. Liza and Tad discuss Taylor, and Liza wonders if he's really that into her. He brings up Zach. She says if there is the slightest chance for them, she'll keep fighting! Tad says he'll be with Kendall once Liza gets her out of prison. She still thinks there's a shot. Just then, Liza gets a call from Zach saying he thinks they should do it - set up a visit between Annie and Emma.

David catches up with Jake at the hospital and gives him Amanda's wedding ring. He says she gave it up willingly, then implies that he and Amanda are together. Jake tells David that Amanda hates him - and Trevor will too! David smirks, and says that at least he'll be calling him daddy - Jake will be no one to him!

Jake goes to Wildwind and tells Amanda it's making him sick for her to live there - he feels totally helpless. She says that thoughts of him are what keep her going! She has memorized him, and memorized her ring. Jake kisses her, and they make love. Afterward, she hurries him out the door in case David comes home. He says they'll figure out a way to get through this. After he leaves, David appears in the doorway and says to Amanda, "You thought you could get away with it, didn't you?" She realizes he doesn't mean Jake's visit, and she tells him they'll find a way to get through this.

At home, alone in the shower, Jake thinks about making love to Amanda. He looks sadly at his wedding ring.

Kendall is still having the same conversation. Have they nothing else to write for this girl to say.

Writers go to the window and stick your heads out, shake them and get some air. Now sit down and finish these s/ls. Please!!!!!!!

I agree beenaroundalongtime. Maybe the air in California will give the writers some better story lines. It is a shame the way AMC has gone down the tube the last few years.
As for baby Trevor I'm with previous posts. Do a paternity test and let him be Jake's and move on.

Has Kendall even bothered to ask about Spike since he's been gone?

She's only concerned about reconciling with Zach, and complaining that he won't forgive/touch/bed her. If I were Zach, I'd drive her to the prison myself and never look back!

With Kendall's nagging I would be surprise if Zach started dating Liza or anybody else for that matter. She's behind the wheel driving him into another woman's bed.

S/b wouldn't be surprise

Have a wonderful weekend.

This is ridiculous! Do you mean to tell me that they didn't do a DNA test on baby Trevor to prove whether he is really David's child? From the comments I am reading, I get the feeling that this is the case...Sick of Kendumb...hopefuly the California air (or the smoke from the wildfires )will give the writers some better ideas because AMC has been boring...

What was that phrase Kendall used about Liza?....she needs a "REALITY CHECK" !!! Pu-leeeeese...

Jake/Amanda...how long do you think your afternoon delight will last? Like the Shadow, Heyward knows all & sees all.

Please forgive me, but I acutally found myself imagining the countless possibilities of Tad & Liza re-uniting. Nuts, I know, but it would be fun. Tad & Taylor went south fast!!

Do ya'll feel like we are being held in limbo ( storyline wise) until everyone figures out what they are doing about the move? There seems to be no direction to any s/l.

At least AMC thought to mention 9/11 in the storyline. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who lost loved ones on that horrific day.

Starlett - The only reason I did watch today was to see if there'd be a 911 Tribute of sorts. AMC has always done something moving to commemorate that horrible day.

Soapyzest - that's right, as far as any of us know, there has never been a DNA test on Amanda's baby Trevor to determine with certainty that he was David's baby. Now, I suppose the writers could always pull a "it was done off camera" thing, but we've never seen it so, as far as the fans know, there's no scientific proof of who Trevors father is.

C.Overturf - I agree with you that every story seems to be written with a million holes or possibilities that can be used to completely change the outcome of any storyline depending on who agrees to move and who doesn't. Personally, I say move the stories along and if the actors don't want to move, deal with it and re-cast or kill people off and bring in new characters. Guiding Light is going off the air next week, so there are a bunch of soap veterans out there who could be scooped up for new roles! I'd hate to lose some of the long time stars and some of the favorite characters (although these days, it's hard to say I have a "favorite" character on AMC because they're all acting so dumb lately!), but life goes on and it's just a show, right? The show could even benefit from a huge infusion of new blood - and maybe they could write it so that the new characters could be smarter than the current dimwitted tornado pod people we have on the show now!

For future reference (because I seem to be using it alot lately), I will be abbreviating Dimwitted Tornado Pod People to DTPP! It's just too darn long to keep typing but it describes so many of the characters so well right now! LOL
