JR faces his diagnosis, Liza tells all, and there's a race to claim baby Trevor!
As Jake prepares to take Amanda home from the hospital, she marvels that the dream she had last night about Trevor was so real. Jake takes her to the baby area to see if her memory is jogged. A nurse comes in and tells Jake that it's strange to see another doctor in there - she saw Frankie Hubbard in there last night! Jake tells Amanda that it sounds like she wasn't hallucinating after all!
At Wildwind, David has Liza at gunpoint. She spills all, telling him that Jake fooled her as well. He bellows that he doesn't care about that - he just wants to know where his son is! As he brandishes the gun in her face again, she pleads with him to believe her - she has no idea where his son is! She then breaks the news that their plan to find the baby in the alley and 'adopt' him was blown when the baby disappeared. Liza says that Tad thought it was David who had taken him. David can't believe the whole Martin family is in on this! He rants and raves about how Jake has screwed both him and Amanda over by losing their son. He says the Martins won't get away with it! As Liza tries, but fails, to escape, David vows to find his son and then get revenge on the Martins! Liza points out that he is the one who has always used babies and children to get back at people - she warns if he doesn't stop with all these vendettas he'll die a lonely, bitter old man. David says it's his son, not Jake's, then releases her. Liza runs out. David calls the hospital and orders them to page Jake Martin - now!
At Angie and Jesse's house, Randi panics as they try to take the baby from her. Randi blurts hysterically that she'll tell everyone that she killed Henry North if they take him away! Natalia gapes, as Randi says she killed him, and Jesse covered it up! Natalia is disgusted! Jesse follows Natalia outside to try to explain. Frankie takes the baby from Randi to change him, saying he won't take him out of the apartment. Angie and Randi face each other - Randi says no one else understands! Angie says she's not thinking of the baby - what kind of life would it be for him, running and hiding? Randi cries as Angie says sometimes love isn't enough. She reminds Randi how scary her life was before she met Frankie. Randi acknowledges that, and says she was always scared of getting pregnant - it was only when she looked into Matthew's eyes that she realized how much she wants to be a mother - she needs him. Angie reassures her that she has Frankie, and the rest of the family, to hold onto, but she has to do right by that baby! Frankie comes to comfort Randi as she sits in the window. She says she knows that someone is looking for the baby - she's just been denying it to herself! Randi tells Frankie she'll let him go.
Out in the hallway, Jesse tries to explain to Natalia why he covered for Randi in the Henry North murder. She narrows her eyes and says that this must have been another one of those hard choices, like bending the rules for Kendall Slater. Jesse reiterates that Henry tried to rape Randi. She says if she'd been there, she'd have killed Henry herself! Natalia asks him what they're going to do about the baby? He says they have to find out where the baby came from - this is not a gray area! They go back inside, and watch as Randi says goodbye to the baby and hands him over to Angie to take to the police station.
JR and Little Adam visit with Marissa at Babe's gravesite. When Marissa sends Little A to pick some more flowers, Marissa tells JR that she knows he's hurting - she wishes he'd tell her why! JR replies that he's in a nightmare he can't wake up from! JR opts not to tell her about his illness, and says that he just came from his father's house, where Adam is still being made a fool of by Annie. He frets over the idea of his son being raised in that house. Marissa is puzzled - they don't live there. JR just says there are no guarantees in life.
Erica, at Zach's house, asks him why he won't tell her where he was - she was concerned that the children were alone! He reassures her, then asks about her trip to Africa. She asks about Kendall - he says he calls every day but she still won't talk to anyone. Zach then tells Erica that Liza may not be on the case anymore - for personal reasons. They bicker about Liza as Kendall listens from the attic room. Erica announces that she's moving in! Zach argues briefly, before telling her that the guestroom is all hers! In the attic, Kendall hisses, "No!" Erica leaves, and Kendall slips out of the attic to confront Zach! He says it was the best idea Erica ever had - it will mean Kendall can't come out and hit people with laptops!
Taylor arrives at Tad's house. They discuss her stakeout of the alley behind the church - she has no clue who took the baby. Tad remarks that his head hurts, and he feels helpless. He explains that when things go wrong he has this blender that sits in his forehead - he asks her to distract him. She massages his temples and gives him a kiss. They embrace.
JR shows up at Tad's house as he and Taylor are watching a Spanish telenovela. Tad asks Taylor to excuse them. Taylor says goodbye and Tad sends Little Adam out to the backyard. JR says, "It's not good news." He describes how he went to tell Adam about the cancer and he accused him of drinking and threatened to take his son away. JR wants Tad to promise to look after Little Adam if he dies. Tad refuses - he doesn't believe he's going to die - he doesn't want him to think that way! Tad urges him to waste no time in getting into treatment and fighting this. Tad tells JR he loves him, as JR leaves the house tearfully.
Jake and Amanda arrive at Frankie's house where no one is home. Jake breaks in, but Amanda doesn't like doing this. Jake tells her to help him look around - it's the only lead they've got! Amanda goes into the bedroom and comes out with a baby outfit from the hamper - she says it was the one Trevor was wearing when they lost him!
Liza arrives at Tad's house and announces that David knows everything! She says he has a gun! Tad asks how he found out. She says she told him. Tad sends her home to look after her own baby, saying he'll let her know what happens. He turns on the television in time to see a report about a baby being turned in to the police station! Jake and Amanda come barreling through the door saying they've got a lead. Tad says, "Screw that - I think I've found the baby!"
David arrives at the hospital and is told by the nurse that Jake isn't responding to pages. He growls that he'll find him on his own! He passes by Joe Martin who is watching the television. When David hears that a baby has been turned in at the police station, he rushes out the door!
JR is at the specialist's office. The doctor says that she will help him understand just what is going on and what they can do. JR asks when he can start treatment - he's ready to beat this thing!
Liza arrives at Zach's house where she finds Erica is there. Zach comments that he didn't realize Erica was coming back to move in immediately! Erica tells Liza that she thinks it's best that she dropped Kendall's case. Liza says she came to tell Zach that she had reconsidered!
Jake and Amanda rush into the police station. Jake tries to caution her that they need to get their stories straight, but Amanda opens the door to the interrogation room. She sees Angie and Jesse holding Trevor, and gasps happily, "My baby!" David steps out from behind the Hubbards and says, "Don't you mean, our baby?!"
