JR takes a stand, Krystal asks Erica for help, and Adam floats a loan!
Tad arrives at the hospital and asks a few questions about David - trying to find out if he's been at the hospital the whole afternoon. The nurse says David has been there all day. Joe corrals Tad to ask about a fundraiser. David appears and wonders why Tad was looking for him. Joe pipes up and says he was looking for him - he brings up the African fundraiser. David smirks that they'd like to see him halfway around the world, wouldn't they?! When David walks away, Tad thanks Joe for the cover. Joe asks Tad to go to Africa, but he declines. Tad asks again about David's schedule. Joe is puzzled, and Tad says he'll explain at a later date.
In Marissa's hospital room, she complains to Krystal about the offer David made to JR - trying to get him to stay away from her. Krystal makes excuses for David, and Marissa tells her that it's more the fact that JR agreed to it that bothers her! Krystal tries to get her to look at this from JR's perspective - David has been obsessed with Little Adam! Marissa doesn't care, and says that JR is being naive anyway if he thinks David would keep his end of the bargain. Marissa then wonders why Krystal is defending JR, and realizes that he asked her to go there.
Adam, at the Chandler Mansion, tells JR that the company has turned a profit this quarter for the first time in a long while. JR says that he's not interested in hearing about Scott's successes. Adam says they're a family company. JR spots Annie lurking and says that indeed it is - and she'll want her cut once the profits kick in and she asks for a divorce. JR wonders if she'll sign a pre-nup? Adam clears his throat and says they haven't discussed finances. JR scoffs that he might want to cap it in case this fairytale romance goes down the toilet! When he leaves, Adam tells Annie that she'll have to stick to a reasonable budget for the wedding. She smiles, but isn't pleased.
Scott finds Liza in the hospital and asks about Marian. Liza cries as she tells him that she seems to be gone - just a shell - as though she doesn't even want to live! Scott embraces her. Liza asks Scott why he's in that house. He says he feels his father all over that estate. Liza asks how it's going with Annie. Scott blows off the question. He does say that it feels like everyone has forgotten his dad, and his death.
In the attic room, Zach brings Kendall something to eat, telling her that soon they will have playtime with the boys. When Ian fusses, she takes her glass of juice and goes to tend to him, though. Suddenly, there is a knock on the door - it's Erica! As Kendall hastily hides, Zach opens the door. Erica says she needs to see Kendall - she needs his help! Zach says she's refusing to see him too. She presses - saying he could say it was about the boys. She then asks to see them. Zach lies that they're asleep, but Spike runs out to greet her. She goes with him back into the bedroom! Kendall listens through the monitor as Erica and Zach talk. Seeing the glass of juice on the nightstand, Erica asks Spike if he's going to drink it? Spike says it's mommy's juice! Zach walks Erica to the door, telling her that Spike has made up an imaginary mommy to help him cope. Erica muses that Liza wouldn't mind filling that role. Zach says, "Okay. Goodbye Erica." He returns to Kendall and gives her Erica's note that begs her not to shut her out. Zach reassures Kendall about the plan.
JR arrives at the hospital and trades a few barbs with Scott about Annie. Scott tells him instead of picking fights with him he should clean up his mess with Marissa. They see Krystal talking to Marissa and Scott scoffs that JR sent her in ahead of him. JR listens as Marissa tells Krystal that JR is a coward. He walks in and says it's true - but he is interested in her. JR tells her he should have popped David in the nose when he made the offer. He knows he's not perfect - but he's trying to be a better person. Marissa says that ever since she met David, he's been saying he wants to change - but he doesn't - why should she believe JR is any different. JR maintains he's not like David. He thanks her for being there for him and goes to leave. She stops him.
Krystal comes upon Tad and Joe. They immediately begin convincing her to go to Africa to help feed the children. She agrees, and goes off with Joe to look at brochures.
David encounters Scott in the hospital and says that JR is a real piece of work. David says he knows if he'd made Scott the same offer, Scott would have told him where to go. Scott agrees, but tells David that Marissa is her own woman - and if she wants to be with JR, there is nothing he can do about it. David says to himself, "We'll see!"
Zach and Liza arrive at the Chandler Mansion, where Zach intends to ask Adam for money. Adam and Annie appear and Adam asks what Zach wants. Zach blurts, "A loan." Adam asks what he intends to do with the million and a half dollars he wants - and what does Kendall have to do with it - he won't fund her appeal! Zach says it's for the casino, and he'll put up the house and the business as collateral. Annie rolls her eyes as Liza reminds Adam that Zach has two small children. Adam tells her to draw up the paperwork. When Zach and Liza leave, she pauses outside the door to ask him to celebrate. He declines. Annie, meanwhile, berates Adam for giving Zach money when she's on a budget for her wedding. Adam tells Annie he gave Zach the money for her!
Erica is at ConFusion going over her schedule with her assistant. When he leaves, Krystal comes over to her table. She shows her the brochures about Africa and says Erica should feature the hungry children on her show. Erica wonders if she wants her to go to Africa. Krystal says she'd get a whole week of shows out of it and help a good cause. Erica looks at the brochure and exclaims. She tells Krystal she just might do it.
JR and Marissa are going for a walk in the hospital hallway when they run into David. He looks at JR and says it looks as though all is forgiven. He then asks Marissa if this means he's off the hook as well?! Marissa says she doesn't have the energy to get into it with him. David wants to take Marissa back to her room, but JR gives him a speech about how he's helping Marissa, and that they may even be falling in love - so he'd better get used to it! Marissa beams as David stalks off!
Tad is in the hospital room with Opal, who is hyperventilating into a paper bag about the lost baby. Tad tries to calm her down, saying that Jake and Amanda have gone to follow a lead. His phone rings - it's Jake - he says that the phone number from David's phone bill is a pay phone in a bar. Jake and Amanda are getting a hotel.
Annie listens to Adam's reasoning for giving the money to Zach. When Adam leaves the room, Scott walks into the house in time to hear Annie raging. She tells him she needs his help - Adam's losing it!
Zach arrives home to find that Kendall is out of the attic and has set up a romantic evening for them. She says she took all the precautions necessary and wanted to do something nice for him. The doorbell rings - it's Liza!
