Erica visits Kendall, David tells Zach that Kendall is dying, Reese comforts Bianca, Randi and Frankie celebrate and Jake tells Taylor not to give up on Brot.
At Zach's, Reese tells Bianca everything was fine but then Zach ran out. Binks makes excuses, saying he is just worried about Kendall. They start decorating with the kiddos again. Binks hangs up a wreath and then reads a story for the kiddos. Reading the story, about Sleeping Beauty, Bianca becomes sad and thinks about Kendall. When she tears up, Reese takes over the story.
In the hospital, Jake tells Frankie that he is backing off from Taylor. Frankie says he can't do that because Taylor is going to need him once Brot leaves. Jake says Brot is still in love with Taylor and they will help one another get back on track! Frankie can't believe what he is hearing.
In Taylor's hospital room, Brot says everything they shared was a lie! Using her walker, Taylor asks if he lied when he said he loved her; Brot says he did! She refuses to believe him. He says he just got caught up in the moment and says he never ordered her replacement ring once she lost the original in the desert! She still won't believe him. He says he was going to tell her everything the day of the ambush – that their relationship was going to end as soon as their tour was over! "We were making plans!" Taylor exclaims and calls him a liar and turns away from him. Brot tells her to go on with Jake since she loves him already anyway. He says he only came back to say goodbye and then walks out. Taylor is heartbroken. He sees Jake in the hall and says he took care of things. Then he leaves. Jake goes to Taylor and asks what happened. She tells him everything, still not believing what Brot says. Jake says she needs to take some time and figure out what she feels for Brot because if she doesn't she will never be happy. "Brot needs you, you can't walk away," Jake says.
Brot goes to the park, looks at the ring he bought for Taylor and cries.
Greenlee turns to see Ryan listening to her talk with Kendall. She asks how they are supposed to go on after ruining so many lives. Ryan says none of this was controllable but Greenlee disagrees! She insists they both should have fought for Annie and Aidan harder. She says they pushed Annie over the edge and have lost their love in the process! She says they are over and walks away!
Randi brings the first proofs from her Fusion shoot to the hospital for Erica. She loves all of the shots and takes calls from Pam and Val about her plans after she is released. Randi promises not to let the company down. Erica calls Greenlee but she doesn't answer so Erica leaves a message to come to the hospital as soon as possible. David arrives and Erica introduces him to the new face of Fusion. Randi leaves and bumps into Frankie in the hall. She tells him what Erica said; Frankie says he knew it and she says they have to celebrate. He offers up a night at the Valley Inn but she kisses him and says she has another idea!
Erica asks David about Kendall; he says she is stable but has no more news. Erica demands to see Kendall but David says they have to talk first and brings up the benefit. Erica says she only asked him here to take her to Kendall. Zach arrives and backs her up, telling David that Erica is obviously strong enough to see her daughter. They take Erica to Kendall's room and Erica tells her about all of the Christmas festivities. Her favorite song is playing and Erica reminds her of that and then begs her to wake up. "Be our Christmas miracle, we need you," Erica says.
Zach corners David in the hall and asks what is happening with Kendall. David says Kendall's heart is failing and she only has a little time left! Zach refuses to believe him but David insists he is right. Zach tells him not to tell anyone else and David promises to keep this secret. Erica comes over and says they are close to getting Kendall back! Binks goes in to see Kendall while Zach wheels Erica back to her room. Greenlee is going through Erica's folders when she gets back to her room. Zach tells them to play nicely and leaves. Greens asks Erica what she wanted. "It's called work," Erica says as she gets back into bed. Greenlee agrees that the pictures are great and Erica says they have to increase the budget. Greenlee says that is her decision and Erica says if she wants to make big decisions she can to be at work and not with Ryan! "There is no relationship, Ryan isn't some prize I won," she says angrily and tells Erica that Ryan has to focus on Emma now. Erica apologizes to her, shocking Greenlee. Erica tells her not to expect any other apologies – ever! Greenlee apologizes for being so difficult with her and the women come to an understanding. Erica thanks Greens for spending time with Kendall and then Greens leaves.
Zach sees Ryan in the halls and apologizes for not telling him about Annie. Ryan blames him for Emma's situation – again! He asks about Kendall and says he'd like to see her. Zach approves the visit but says he also needs Ryan's help at the casino. Ryan refuses. He says he doesn't have time for Cambias because he has to be with Emma and Spike now. He walks away.
Randi takes Frankie to the pond for ice skating. She realizes he is distracted and he tells her about Brot, worried about how to help both of his friends. She says he has to start slowly – just like he did with her. They kiss. They skate for a while and then make their way back to the benches. She says hot chocolate and chili fries are next – along with anything else he wants!
At home, Zach stares into the fire, thinking about Kendall. Reese finds him there and sits with him. He asks how he can keep lying to his family! He says the whole family needs Kendall to recover and then tells her what David said about her heart. "It's giving out and it will stop completely," he says. Reese is shocked. Zach says Binks and Erica can't know yet but he can't lie to them, either. He asks her to keep this a secret.
Greenlee finds Ryan on the Fusion roof and quickly turns to go. He asks her to stay and watch the moon with him. He says maybe they could be happy on the moon but she says they can't be happy. "It's over," she says and leaves.
