Erica chooses between Jack and Jeff; Jack falls into bed with Barbara! Zoe's mother arrives in Pine Valley. Kendall and Hannah bond.
In Erica's New Beginning's office, she asks Jeff to understand that their relationship has run its course. Jeff can't believe what he is hearing. As far as he is concerned, nothing is over! "Stay with me," he asks, telling her that things can be different and right for the rest of their lives. "If you let me, I'll sweep you off your feet every day for the rest of your life," he says. Erica tells Jeff that the divorce from Jack was just finalized, and that has changed how she feels about everything. "I love Jack, I'm always going to want Jack," she says. Confused, Jeff asks why they finalized then, and Erica can't answer. "He's my heart," she says. Jeff asks what happens if Jack doesn’t take her back. Erica isn't sure but she tells Jeff that even if that happens, she won't want to resume their relationship. Assuring him that he wasn't a substitute, she tells him that it's time to be on her own. Saddened, Jeff leaves the office.
At the Montgomery home, Barbara lays a deep kiss on Jack, who pulls away. He sees through her machinations and rejects them. Barbara tells him that she is after the same things Erica is - affection, safety, warmth! Telling Jack that the affairs have never filled her heart the way Travis did, she says that Jack is now the man of her heart! "I can't be that man for you," he says, turning away from her. Barbara keeps pushing him but rather than listen, he walks out of the house. Jack goes to the yacht and sits on the bed, wondering what is next in his life. Barbara arrives, but for a split second, Jack sees her as Erica. Realizing it really is Barbara he says, "It is over, isn't it?" Barbara gently runs her fingers along his jaw. Jack kisses her passionately, trying to forget the day, and the two make love. Afterward, Jack regrets his actions. Erica arrives, seeing he and Barbara in bed together!
At Wildwind, Annie tries to resist the urge to scratch, but is failing fast. Just before she can, Ryan rushes into the room to stop her. Emma arrives - and she's got the pox, too! She has actually only dotted her face with a magic marker but Annie and Ryan both think it's cute. Together Emma and Ryan come up with an idea to get Annie's mind off the itchiness. Ryan bounces Emma, singing the "10 Little Monkeys" song. Finished with the song, Annie asks Ryan to leave so she can rest and he reluctantly goes. As soon as she is alone, Annie begins scratching her legs! Ryan returns in a few minutes after preparing an oatmeal bath and takes Annie to it. With Annie in the tub, Ryan sits beside her and begins to massage her arm with a damp sponge. Annie is finally free of the itchiness and relaxes into the water as Ryan continues to soothe her skin and sing the "10 Little Monkeys" song. A few minutes later, Ryan helps Annie back to bed. "Thank you for another fantastic day," he says and leaves to get soup. Alone, Annie wonders about her decision not to marry Ryan. She reaches into his coat pocket, finding the engagement ring he bought for her!
In Zach's office, Kendall is relieved to meet Hannah and know that she is alright. Hannah, though, doesn't see herself as okay - she never knew her son and now he is dead! Kendall begins to tell Hannah about Ethan. Lily interrupts, asking for Zach's attention with something. He leaves. Kendall asks Hannah to understand that Ethan was loved and that Zach loved Ethan. "Zach rejected his son to protect him," she says. Hannah isn't ready to hear all of this and turns away as Kendall begs her to understand what Zach did. Taking Hannah's hand, Kendall tells her that Ethan knew that she gave him up to save his life, comforting her as Zach returns. He grabs a file, talking about a potential deal. Hannah gives him information about it and he again offers her the job. She asks for more time to make the decision and leaves the office. Kendall approaches Zach, telling him that Hannah just changed his life! She sees a different Zach now. Seeing that Hannah is alright, she believes Zach will be able to finally leave Alexander in the past. Kendall kisses him passionately!
At the jail, Hannah arrives to see Alexander. "Remember me?" she asks. It takes Alexander a moment, but he finally realizes who she really is. Angry with him and unafraid to confront him with the jail bars between them, Hannah tells him that he failed in trying to get Ethan from her and she will never regret her actions. "You belong in there," she says and quickly walks away.
At Fusion, Zoe is frantically making calls to try to gain new clients. Josh and Bianca are helping her. A woman arrives, asking for Freddie - it's Zoe's mom! Bianca introduces herself and Josh quickly gets off the phone, too. Her mother approaches, smiles and envelopes Zoe in a hug. "Please don't do this to our family," she says, pulling away from him. Bianca tries to interrupt, but Zoe wants to hear whatever her mother has to say. "I saw pictures in the tabloids of you dressed. . .It's not right, honey," she says. With tears in her eyes, Zoe tells her mother that she is a woman! "I was born a girl! On the inside I am a woman," she says, begging her mother to understand. Mrs. Luper doesn't understand and wonders if the past drug and alcohol use has effected her son in some way. She asks Zoe to come home with her, to return to her life as Freddie. Zoe rushes from the room and Bianca follows. Alone with Mrs. Luper, Josh tries to make her see that Zoe is in fact a woman, but she doesn't believe him. "Zoe didn't choose this," Josh says, telling her that medically it is possible that she is a woman trapped in a man's body. Mrs. Luper wonders if she did something wrong during the pregnancy to cause this. Cautioning her that no one did anything wrong, Josh asks Mrs. Luper to just accept Zoe as she is.
At the park, Zoe sinks onto a bench, angry at her mother. Bianca tells Zoe about coming out to Erica and how difficult it was. She offers her support. Zoe doesn't see that what Bianca went through is the same as what she is going through, though. "My mother doesn't love me, she loves Freddie," she says, trying to make Bianca see the difference in her mother and Erica. Sitting with Zoe, Bianca tells her that when she sees intolerance from others, she prays that it will be different for Miranda if she lives an alternative lifestyle. If Miranda turns out to be "normal", though, she will be relieved because then her daughter will be safe from the intolerance that she and Zoe face. They continue talking and gradually Zoe begins to wonder if she can give her mother another chance.
