Marion loses it, Kendall gets a life sentence, and she and Zach say their goodbyes.

In the courtroom, Kendall rises to hear the verdict. The judge sentences her to incarceration to the state penitentiary for the remainder of her life and a minimum fifteen years served before consideration for parole. Kendall is in shock. Liza tells her that it’s not over and that she will get the sentence lowered. Kendall asks Jesse if she can just go now and they put on handcuffs. As Adam emerges from the courtroom, reporters gather around him and ask him for a statement. He thanks the DA office for their tenacity. They ask Kendall why Erica is not there. Liza tells them that they will appeal. Marion looks on in disgust, then pulls a gun and shoots. They rush to hold her and Zach rushes to Kendall and asks if she’s been hit. When it’s clear she’s okay, he rushes to Marissa who has been shot, and tells her that she’ll be okay. She leaves by ambulance and Liza rushes to her mom, Marion. Marion is beside herself for having shot the wrong person. Natalia takes Marion past Adam. Adam looks at her and says, “Oh my God!” She tells him that she had to try and that he didn’t have the courage. They take her away. Liza tells Adam that whenever there is a life destroyed, he’s smack dab in the middle of it. Jesse calls for an ambulance.

JR and Annie are kissing at the Chandler mansion when Annie pulls away. She tells him that Adam loves her and that there is nothing he can do about that. She says she would never cheat on Adam, especially not with him. She tells him he’s an embarrassment to the family. He calls her a tramp and she slaps his face. He taunts her and she tells him to shut up. Colby rushes in and puts on the TV. The news report details Kendall’s sentencing, the shooting, and that Marion is being held for a psychiatric evaluation.

At Tad’s, Taylor sneaks in with the baby and finds Tad watching TV. She asks if he’s alone. He says this is a bad idea and that she should take the baby home. Just then, there’s a knock at the door. It’s Amanda who was looking for the baby at Taylor’s and is thrilled to find him at Tad’s. Krystal calls down from upstairs and asks what’s going on. She joins them so Tad puts the TV volume up. They hear of the shooting and Krystal leaves. Taylor decides to leave with Trevor but before they do, Emma walks in and cries, “A baby!” Before Taylor can say a word, Opal walks in too and explains that it’s Taylor’s niece who is visiting from Texas. When Emma leaves, Opal tells them to drop the act as she has figured out that it’s Amanda’s baby. She asks Tad what kind of a mess he’s gotten into now. They admit that she’s right about who the baby is.
In the judge’s chambers, Kendall is being held and Zach joins her. She blames herself and she tells him to go home to the boys. He says he’s not giving up. She remembers her coma and wishes the next fifteen years would go as quickly for her. He says he will wait for her. She thanks him for this special moment. He says it won’t be fifteen years. Jesse tells her that they have to leave now. She and Zach hug tenderly and she tells him that she’s going to close her eyes and when she opens them, she wants him to be gone. She closes her eyes and Zach strokes her teary cheek. When she opens them, he is gone and she is led away.
Outside the courtroom, Zach stares off into space. Adam comes over to him and Zach says he’s all out of blame.

At the hospital, Jake and his team work on Marissa. David pushes them away and takes over. Krystal arrives and asks them not to let her die. Scott wonders if David is allowed to operate on his daughter. Jake agrees to scrub up, go in and watch.
At home Zach tells Rachael that he has to fire her because he’s going to stay home to look after the boys full-time. He wishes her luck, they hug, and she leaves.

Natalia tells Liza that she saved Kendall’s life. She asks to see Marion again after her evaluation with the psychiatrist.

JR arrives at the hospital to find that Marissa is in surgery. Scott tells him that Liza saved Kendall’s life by pushing her out of the way. They tell him that David is operating, but that Jake is in there too. David comes out and says he froze and couldn’t do it. Krystal hugs him.

Liza tells Marion that they are taking her to the hospital. Marion talks about making Stuart’s dinner but Liza reminds her that Stuart is dead. Marion asks what she’s doing there. She remembers going to Kendall’s sentencing but she doesn’t remember what happened. Liza tells her that she will take care of things. Natalia tells them that it’s time for Marion to go. Marion tells Liza that they have to have lunch at the Yacht Club soon. They hug, kiss and Marion is taken away. Liza cries.
At the mansion, Colby confronts Annie about her horrible past relationships. She tells Annie that they have no relationship and they never will.
Jakes announces to the waiting group that Marissa has made it and is out of surgery so Scott and JR leave to go see her.
Liza joins Krystal and David at the hospital to find out that Marissa is out of surgery. She says it was an accident but David says she almost cost him the only family he has left. Liza leaves and he tells Krystal that he will never let anyone in this town hurt their daughter again.
Adam joins Annie and Colby and tells her what happened outside the courtroom. Colby tells him that she would have liked to learn about the engagement from him. He says he didn’t think she cared. He pleads that she doesn’t have to make a choice between he and her mom. She tells them to have a great wedding but not to bother sending her an invitation. Colby runs out of the room. Annie massages Adam’s shoulders as Adam cries about missing Stuart. She tells him not to remember that night ever again.
Opal, Amanda, Tad, and Taylor discuss the baby swap plan. Opal tells them that she has a better one.
At Zach’s place, Liza watches as Zach tells the boys that their mom has had to go away and that he will be there all the time to look after them. He asks Liza to go so that he can be alone with the boys. She tells him to call if he needs anything. He pours a drink and there is the sound of creaking footsteps coming from the ceiling.
