Taylor reacts badly to Brot's scars, Kendall is returned to Pine Valley, Aidan questions Annie, Ryan eavesdrops on Greenlee's visit to Kendall and Reese decorates with Zach.
At the boathouse, Brot faces Taylor and she flinches away, shocked at how badly he is burned. He says she reacted just like he thought she would and walks away. Taylor tries to stop him but her legs are too weak to follow him. Jake stays with her, telling her that she didn't do anything wrong. She gets angry at herself because she couldn't see past the scars. She wonders how to help Brot; Jake says she has to stop looking at his face and start looking for his soul.
Frankie follows Brot to the park and tells him that Taylor had no choice but to react the way she did; he says she didn't flinch from the scars but because she has believed he was dead all this time. Brot is wrecked, though. Frankie tells him to give Taylor time to come to terms with the fact that he is alive before he writes her off. He asks why Brot came back and he says when he heard that Taylor was hurt he couldn't stay away.
At the hospital, David pulls away from Krystal but won't apologize for kissing her. Angie says she has lost her mind and David leaves. Krystal says another kiss will never happen and blames it on a weak moment. She goes on to say that the only time her pain lessens is when David is around. Angie hugs her and says she will be fine. After Krystal leaves Angie tracks down David and asks why he is doing this to Krystal. David says he is just being a friend and reminds Angie of their shared past. Angie reminds David that Krystal is married and grieving and she doesn't need the stress that he is putting in her life. David says Krystal is the one seeking him out and tells Angie to back off! Angie says he is just using Krystal but David insists he is only being a friend and storms off.
Jake and Taylor return to the hospital as Frankie arrives. He says Brot is gone. Taylor blames herself but both Jake and Frankie tell her this is all Brot's problem and not hers. Jake leaves to check his patients. Frankie sits with Taylor and says this Brot is not the same man they knew. Taylor says she can remind Brot of who he used to be! Later on, Brot returns but won't let Taylor look at him! He says he is only there to say goodbye and when she cries, says he isn't the same man as before. She rips the curtain back and grasps his shoulders. Finally, he turns and she holds his hands. "You're here," she says and takes off his cap so she can caress his face.
In the mental ward, Aidan tells Annie she can stop faking her insanity now. She asks if it is time for the reception! Aidan tries to get Annie to react by telling her that Ryan is celebrating Christmas with Emma and Greenlee – Emma's new mom! "Please, get him away from me," Annie screams as Ryan comes in. Ryan takes Aidan into the hall and asks what he's trying to accomplish. Aidan says he was trying to make Annie admit she is faking her symptoms. Jesse arrives and so does a psychiatrist; the psychiatrist goes inside as Aidan leaves. Jesse asks what is going on and Ryan says he is going to find out! They talk about Aidan's part in the kidnapping and Ryan says he still doesn't understand whose side Aidan is on. He blames himself but Jesse says he didn't cause Annie's breakdown; he says Ryan probably saved Annie's life at the benefit. He tells Ryan to go home but Ryan can't leave Annie. He stares at her through the glass. Ryan finally leaves. The psychiatrist returns and says Annie has a borderline personality disorder that goes back to her upbringing. He says she can't be faking this. He leaves and Jesse goes around the corner, grabs Aidan and asks if he has enough now! Aidan says he is just trying to do the right thing but Jesse doesn't believe him. Aidan leaves.
Zach, Reese and Bianca get things ready for Kendall at Pine Valley Hospital; they arrange a schedule of visitors so that Kendall will never be alone. Jesse arrives and questions Zach about his knowledge of Annie's killing of Richie. Zach says Richie deserved to die and Annie didn't deserve to suffer for it and returns to Kendall. Greenlee arrives. Bianca tells Reese to make sure Zach goes home to be with the boys before long.
Greenlee can't believe Ryan is willing to give Annie another chance. She says Annie is too far gone and not the same woman Ryan married. He says he is the one who forced Annie over the edge. "I saw this happening and I didn't stop it," he says. Greens says he can't blame himself or deny his feelings. He says he has to help Annie because of Emma. Greenlee sits down with him and says he is a great father. Ryan leaves for the hospital and asks Greenlee to stay until Corrinna arrives. Ryan sadly says he still loves her, then says goodbye and leaves the penthouse.
In Kendall's room, Zach apologizes for sending her away. He begs her to fight and come back to him. Bianca comes in a while later and talks to Kendall about Christmas. "You have to wake up," she says emotionally. She talks to Kendall about Miranda and the boys and then mentions Gabrielle, saying they must talk about the new baby. Greenlee comes in a while later and tells Kendall all about her problems with Ryan and Annie. Ryan listens from the door as Greenlee says she may have lost him for good this time! She says it is their fault that Annie lost it. "Our love destroyed her," Greens says. She finally notices Ryan standing there.
Reese and Zach go home to sit with the kids. They all talk about the holidays and Reese decides it is time to decorate. Zach says they don't have a tree but Reese won't be swayed. The kids love the idea, too. Zach hands Gabrielle to Reese and goes after the decorations. Zach brings out an elf hat and Miranda asks Reese to do the jig; Zach teases her into doing it. As she is dancing, Reese trips over a box and falls into Zach's arms! He abruptly leaves. Binks returns and asks what happened but Reese isn't sure.
