Annie confesses to Ryan, Angie is worried about Jesse and Amanda feels something between Jake and Taylor.

Ryan tells Annie that none of this is her fault. Annie quickly interrupts him and tells him that she is guilty of murder! Ryan is confused and wants to know what she is talking about. She says that the baby dying is her fault and that she should have focused more and been less selfish. She tells him that their child died because of the things she has done. She cries and says that she should have been honest about his vasectomy not happening instead of tricking him. She confesses that she used the child to hang on to him and thought that it would make him love her again. She continues her confession and tells him about how she faked morning sickness to keep him close. Ryan remains quiet as she begins to talk about the car accident. She tells him that it was no accident and that she pushed it down the hill. An emotional Annie says to Ryan, “You’ve done all the right things, you said all of the right things, but you still didn’t love me!” She says that he loved their children and that’s all she had, so she used them. Ryan asks her about the restraining order and the bruises. Annie tells him that she knows deep down that he would never do something like that. She says that if she could make him think that he even came close to physical abuse, he would feel so guilty that he would run back to her. She knows that they think she is crazy, and she admits it. Annie tells him that she was crazy in love and that the more he didn’t love her, the more desperate she became. She says that she wanted to punish Ryan for not loving her the way that he loves Greenlee! She confesses that losing this baby is punishment for all of the horrible things she has done. Ryan admits that she has done some terrible things, but she didn’t kill the child. She asks him not to forgive her because she doesn’t deserve it. Ryan steps out of the room and Annie receives another visit from her brother’s ghost.
Aidan asks Kendall, Greenlee and Zach what happened and how Annie and the baby are doing. Kendall tells him that they are going to be fine. The doctor walks in and all four of them want an update. The doctor informs them that Ryan asked her to tell them that Annie is having a miscarriage. After the doctor leaves, Kendall says, “Maybe it’s for the best.” Greenlee can’t believe that Kendall would say that regarding the loss of a child. The four of them offer condolences to Ryan as he enters the waiting area. He tells them that he needs a few moments alone and Aidan sends Greenlee to be with him, telling her that she is who he really needs. Kendall starts to walk off until Zach grabs her by the arm and tells her, “You, Ryan doesn’t need!” Back in the hospital room, Annie tries to make her brother leave. He refuses to leave and congratulates her on her performance with Ryan. He tells her that it was good, but she should have gone all the way and had a grand finale by telling Ryan of how she beat her brother in the head with a lug wrench! When Annie informs her brother that she is done, he tells her that if that is the case, then you have lost! He says that the only way to win is to eliminate the competition and that is Greenlee. He suggests that she take out Kendall while she is at it! Annie tells him that she isn’t a psychopath and that she doesn’t murder people. He steps back, spreads his arms open wide and asks his sister, “What am I?” She tells him that she can’t take it back but now she can hopefully start on a new path. She says that she doesn’t want to hurt anyone and that all of this is his fault. Annie gets on her knees and stares her brother in the face and tells him that it ends here and now. She tells him that he is not real and that Richie is gone. She closes her eyes and keeps repeating that Richie is dead and that he can’t hurt her anymore. When she opens her eyes, her brother is gone.

Tad tries to console Angie and tells her that the hang up was probably just a prank and that there is no need to be worried about Jesse. She isn’t convinced and says that Jesse also suggested that the calls were pranks. She tells Tad it happens too often for it to be just someone playing games. She wonders if maybe Jesse is lying to protect her. She panics and worries that someone might be pulling strings from behind bars. Tad suggests that would be hard to do and that she shouldn’t worry so much. Angie takes a deep breath and thanks Tad for calming her down. She then asks him for some advice on how to keep driving her family away and how to keep from losing Jesse again. Tad defends Jesse and says that he just has a lot on his mind. Tad is shocked when Angie informs him that Jesse had a nervous breakdown and that they almost lost him for good. Just then Jesse arrives back at the table. When Angie asks him where he was, he smiles and says, “I can’t tell you.” Jesse is shocked when Angie says that she thinks Randi may be the one who convinced Frankie to stay. When Angie tells him about the hang up call, Jesse stresses to her again that it was probably just a prank or something. He then said that he needs her to stay away from his phone.

Taylor is surprised that Jake has been standing there while she was lost in imagination. She stutters and tells him that Amanda will be right back. As she turns the lights back on he asks her if she is alright. She says that she is and they make small talk about the music, the room set up and her foot. Taylor brags to him that Amanda has put a lot of thought into the details of the night. Jake notices her uniform hanging up and wants to know if she wishes that she would have gotten a call to duty instead of Frankie. She informs him that she does and that she would be more than happy to go(…)unlike Frankie. Taylor tells Jake that Frankie made a commitment to serve. Jake stresses that Frankie has already fulfilled his obligation and that he doesn’t have to go back. Taylor recognizes their difference of opinion and changes the topic of conversation. She tells him that she has been all cleared by the doctor and he wants to know why she isn’t on her way back to Iraq yet. Taylor tries to convince Jake that she is perfectly capable of going back and that she is an experienced soldier. She tells him that she doesn’t need to talk to people and that she doesn’t need help. She gets upset and screams that she should have never told him about Brock because now he just looks at her like another head case. He reminds her that he didn’t say that and she tells him that he didn’t have to say it. Amanda arrives, rushes in and kisses Jake. Taylor excuses herself so the two of them can enjoy their date.
Jake and Amanda dance and chat. Amanda notices that his mind is distanced and wants to know what’s wrong. She says that it was intense when she got back from getting the dip and wants to know if that has anything to do with it. She asks him if he has anything for soldier girl and tells him to please tell her now if he does. Jake kisses her and takes her to the couch. Suddenly his pager goes off and he rushes out to the hospital. He grabs his things and promises to make it up to her.

Frankie tells Randi that he is not going to let her bail out on everything she has going for her just so she can help him. She responds by telling him that her new life wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for him and begs him to let her keep him safe. Frankie tells her again that they are not running away! She says that she can’t just sit by and do nothing. He kisses her on the forehead and promises that he will be back safely.
Kendall tells Zach that she really does care and wants to help. Zach reminds her that she has helped enough already. He recaps how this all went down and wants to know if that’s what friends do. Kendall hangs her head and walks away. Ryan fills Greenlee in on all of the things Annie confessed to. Greenlee wasn’t shocked about her using the baby to hold onto Ryan, but she was very concerned about all of the other things. She is worried because Ryan thinks that this is his fault. Ryan tells her that he didn’t give Annie what she needed and that he has a habit of promising forever and not delivering. Greenlee tells him that she didn’t miscarry because of him and neither did Annie! Ryan’s eyes fill with tears as he holds Greenlee’s hands. Jake arrives at the hospital and is informed of what happened by Aidan and Zach.
