Jake decides his future, Adam tries to bribe Colby, JR wants to fight for Chandler, Cassandra, Dre and Colby make July 4th plans and Erica manipulates Adam.
Greenlee invites Aidan to ConFusion and says she wants to make peace - and be friends! She tells him about her afternoon with Ryan, annoying Aidan. She says she is in a good place with Ryan, a better place with Kendall and she wants the same with Aidan. He makes a move on her! Greens backs away and says friends don't make moves on each other. Aidan says he isn't her friend - he's in love with her. She won't give in on being just friends so Aidan gives in and says he'll accept whatever she can give him. He suggests they start their friendship immediately. Greens isn't sure what to do about that so she makes him work on cleaning up the bar. She gets yogurt all over her face; Aidan cleans it off. He caresses her face and Greenlee pulls him into a kiss. She imagines him making love to her on the bar and then runs out.
Jake sees Tad and Kathy at BJ's and joins them for lunch. Kathy shows him a picture she drew of her new family. Tad explains that Jake is Kathy's uncle. Kathy can't believe that Jake doesn't live in town and asks why.
At his office, JR hangs up the phone as Adam and Colby walk in. Adam reminds JR that he is only in charge for a short time but JR ignores him. He then tells JR to get Colby her own parking space. She looks out the window and sees a car - her 18th birthday present - parked outside! JR thinks that is a bit extravagant. Adam pulls out Colby's next gift - the keys to the cabin at the lake! Both the car and the cabin are now hers. Colby can't believe it. When Colby leaves, JR calls Adam on the gifts and says bribery won't work on Colby; he says Adam shouldn't have tried to buy Colby's Chandler votes with a car and the lodge. Adam says he is taking the company back. JR says his online project is back on. Adam immediately pokes holes in his plans by telling JR that the company he is working with has an exclusive deal with Fusion! Adam leaves. Babe arrives and tells JR about her problems with work. He feels for her. He tells her about Adam's latest stunt and then swears not to let Adam take over again. Babe worries that this will finally turn JR into Adam. He swears he won't turn into Adam. Babe says she believes in him and they leave.
Cassandra and Dre arrive at BJ's to meet Colby but she is late. They take a table and Cass tells Dre that things with her family - especially Angie - are complicated. Colby walks in and tells them about her presents. She says the gifts are likely a bribe because she can vote her own Chandler shares now. The three of them vent about their complicated families. Colby spots Kathy and takes her to the kids' table.
With Kathy distracted by Colby, Tad tries to get to the heart of Jake's reluctance to stay in Pine Valley. Jake hems and haws and then says he isn't ready to work in a hospital because of the mistake he nearly made with Ryan. He says Africa is life and death and he can handle that much better. Tad can't believe how downtrodden Jake is. He wonders where his brother Jake went and who this stranger is. He advises Jake to stay in Pine Valley and regain his life. Colby brings Kathy back; she was worried that Tad might have left her. Tad says he will always be there and Jake says he'll stay, too. He gets coffee from the bar as Greenlee walks in. She asks about his plans and when he says he is staying, offers to let him move in with her!
Back at their table, Cassandra tells Colby and Dre about Jesse's new job. Dre says Jesse's job is nothing; he has to deal with Samuel working over Erica every chance he gets. Colby believes she has them both trumped because she is going to be stuck between JR and Adam for a long time. They all want a getaway and Colby has the perfect solution - she invites them to spend the Fourth of July with her at the lodge. The kids agree.
Jack arrives at the prison to see Erica. He asks how she can be sure that she'll be able to come through for Carmen. "Have you ever known me not to keep a promise?" she says. "Only the one you made me on our wedding day," Jack replies! Erica says that was a favor because if they were still married, he wouldn't be able to visit her in prison. Carmen arrives and Jack gives her bad news - Carmen can't work for Erica, Jack or any of their families. Erica takes the news in stride. Adam arrives, annoyed that Erica has summoned him. She offers him a way to change his public image - by hiring Carmen! Carmen watches them and doesn't believe for a second that Erica will pull it off. Adam tells Erica that he won't hire a crazy felon. Erica threatens to feature Adam's own craziness on a future episode if he doesn't comply. He gives in. Carmen is thrilled to learn she is nearly free.
