Dixie and Tad talk about heaven, Erica is desperate to save her job, Annie overreacts to Ryan's announcement, JR threatens Richie, Jesse wants to take Sam's job offer.
In prison, Erica is freaking out about her New Beginnings replacement. Carmen tries to calm her down and when that doesn’t work, suggests they bust out of prison! Erica isn’t sure how it will work. Carmen says to leave it to her. She gathers their other prison friends. She introduces the women as if each is a guest on Erica’s show and then tells the stories of how Erica helped each one. Hearing how she is still making a difference, Erica begins to feel better. Erica calls the governor’s office and asks him to be a guest on her new show – shot in prison!
At the hospital, Dixie reaches out to Tad, startling him. She convinces him to take her hand and suddenly they are in a park. Tad sees their star and reminisces a bit. He realizes she was behind the Kate revelation; she asks about Kathy and Tad says the girl has all the best parts of her and the best parts of him. They sit together as Tad tells Dixie a few stories about Jamie and their practical jokes. He asks what heaven is like; Dixie says her mother is there and she finally met his Grandma Kate. She says she has to go back but she can’t unless he can let her go. Tad says he can’t let her go! “It isn’t our choice,” she says, “there are rules.” She says Kate and Jenny need him too much and he needs to focus on that. Dix tells him that because they are soul mates they will never really be apart. Dix takes his hand and says he is free to love again. She kisses him and then fades away. “Goodbye,” he whispers.
At the apartment, Jesse brings up the Chief of Police position. Angie is dead set against the job even after Jesse reminds her it is a desk job. She is certain that he won’t be able to stay out of the field. She says she can’t live with the fear that comes along with him being a cop. She says she can't put herself or Frankie or Cassandra through that. “We need time, we need to feel safe!” she says, crying. Jesse holds her as she cries. He looks at the picture of himself in uniform.
At Fusion, Annie takes a test and learns she is ovulating. Ryan arrives and she tells him she has a sitter for Emma and they have a night alone! Before she can say more, Greenlee arrives and shows them her blackeye. Annie goes after more ice as Greens blames Kendall. Ryan prods her a little and Greenlee admits she pushed Kendall’s buttons; she also tells him about her one night stand. Annie returns. Ryan says he loves the idea of a night alone but can’t do it. He tells her about Jake’s doctor friend and his appointment. Annie says he can’t do this to her! Greenlee supports Ryan, making Annie all the more upset. “When are you going to butt out of our marriage?” Annie asks angrily when Greenlee tells Ryan for the umpteenth time that he should go to the doctor rather than spend time with Annie. Greenlee backs off as Ryan asks what is really going on. Annie says she is stressed out and doesn’t feel well. He asks about the vitamin shots and she says the doctor says the shots aren't enough. That doesn't change his mind, though and Annie leaves. When they are alone, Ryan asks Greens to come for a motorcycle ride with him!
At the warehouse, JR tells Richie he knows everything thanks to Treena. Richie gets quiet and promises to make things up to JR. Angry, JR keeps threatening and pushing until Richie breaks down. JR says he might let Richie live but only if Richie admits to everything on tape and signs a written confession! Just then Richie has a seizure.
