Jesse and Robert talk about Papel. Adam has another attack. JR asks Babe for another chance. Krystal is drawn to Adam.
At the prison, Erica meets with Samuel. He is surprised when Erica says she didn't summon him for her own needs - she wants him to help spring Carmen! Erica explains about Carmen's innocence and demands that he help. Samuel points out that she has been convicted and she escaped from custody. Erica tries to convince him that Carmen was desperate and throws his I-fight-for-the-little-man campaign speech in his face. She goes on and on about how unfair the system is and Samuel finally agrees to look into things for Carmen. In the mean time, he suggests that Erica do a little work, too. She says she doesn't have any type of platform to do it. They agree to work together to bring Carmen's plight to the rest of the world. A guard says their time is up.
At the Chandler manse, Adam confronts Colby about Wellesley. The school has told him Colby turned down her acceptance. As they are arguing Krystal walks in and sarcastically says it must be morning if there is arguing in the manse. She goes upstairs to gather a few things she left behind. Adam turns on Colby who explains that she wants to attend PVU because of the family. Adam thinks she is feeling sorry for him and becomes angry; Colby says she loves him and wants to spend time with him. Adam turns from Colby and hollers up the stairs to Krystal that he is going to inspect the silver when she's gone. He angrily turns back to Colby and then has another attack. Colby is about to call his doctor when Adam falls off the sofa. She yells for Krystal, who comes running, and tries to keep Adam calm while Colby calls for help. Adam tries to stand on his own but then falls right into Krystal's arms. The EMTs arrive. In the ambulance Krystal holds his hand, telling him things will be fine. Adam reaches out to her, too. He asks Colby to call JR and while she is distracted with the phone tells Krystal that he loves her!
Angie is about to leave for work when Jesse distracts her and leads her back to the bedroom. They are sharing breakfast a while later when Frankie comes out of his room and says it is time to find his own place. Angie asks him to stay at home for a while but Frankie won't stay. The conversation turns to work and Jesse jokingly says he is going to relax and let Angie and Frankie bring home the bacon for a while! Frankie says he could go back to the police force and Angie gets upset. Robert stops by, so both Frankie and Angie leave for work. As Jesse cleans up the breakfast things, he tells Rob he looked over the files he had and he believes the real Papel set up Rafael. Rob says that Jesse should look into things a little harder. They brainstorm together and Jesse decides there is only one place that the kidnappers couldn't have looked to find what they want - his grave! Rob doesn't understand until Jesse says that they buried a coffin and there could be a clue inside. Rob says they should go to the cops but Jesse doesn't want anyone else to know. Rob offers to help.
JR arrives at Babe's to pick up little A; she says little A isn't going anywhere because he isn't feeling well. JR thinks this is a ploy because she doesn't want little A to spend time with him. They argue and Babe goes on and on about how she can't trust him any longer. JR points out that her track record for being right - whether that is about him or some other guy - isn't that great. He wonders why she is so bent on protecting Richie. Exasperated, she sits down. JR says he will back off if she will just say she doesn't love him. Babe can't do it and he asks her for a little more time so that they can find their way back to one another. Crying, Babe says sooner or later things will get messed up because he is Adam's son. JR points out how strong he was when he moved back to the manse to learn the truth about Kate. He swears that he won't turn into Adam Chandler but Babe refuses to allow herself to believe him. Just then Colby calls to tell JR about Adam. Upset, JR starts to leave but Babe stops him. She calls Winifred to watch little A and they leave together.
Frankie and Angie are working in the Emergency Ward when a man is brought in after a terrible car accident. Frankie sees all the blood and freezes up; another doctor takes his place. Angie goes to Frankie and they watch as the other doctor works on the man and his wife cries in the background. Frankie says the man on the gurney could have been him! Angie says it wasn't him and he needs to let Iraq go. Frankie brings up Jesse, saying that he can't let Iraq go any more than Jesse can let police work go. She realizes he is right. Just then the EMTs bring in Adam. Upset, Krystal goes straight to Angie and begs her not to let anything happen to Adam!
