Kendall pleads publicly for Carmen to bring her mother home; The Chandler Mansion empties out; Jesse gets kudos from his brothers in arms; Erica and Carmen are headed for Chicago.

Angie and Jesse have a date to meet up with Derek at the station. Angie is ready to go, but Jesse is standing still, staring forlornly at the front door, almost scared to walk through it into the outside world. “So you’re a little rusty…that’s why I’m here, remember?” Angie says. “This nightmare, thank God, is finally over!” They head out.

The Chandler Mansion is a hub of activity as Krystal and Babe are gathering together their things to move out. Adam taunts Krystal a bit, while JR tries to keep them from going. Opal enters, all abuzz about Tad being safe. She brings a surprise – Robert! – with her. “I hope I’m not intrudin’ on anything,” he drawls. But Adam welcomes him in with open arms. “I’m honored to have you in my home,” Adam says.

In the barn, Erica, thinking Carmen is asleep, is reaching for Carmen’s gun. Carmen jumps awake and points the gun at Erica instead. “Not the smartest move, Erica Kane!” she growls. “You’re making a mistake,” Erica whispers. Erica tries to convince Carmen that she “knows people” and she’ll help Carmen achieve her goal of finding her ex-fiancé. “I don’t want to find him, I want to kill him,” Carmen insists. Erica reminds her that it makes no sense to kill him, because she’ll be facing a life sentence if she gets caught. Again Erica tries to convince Carmen to let her go. But again, Carmen won’t hear of it. Instead she forces Erica to go with her to look for food. They find their way to a convenience store where Carmen forces Erica to act like her lover to hide the handcuffs binding them. Erica threatens to scream, but again Carmen threatens her with the gun. They pick up a few items. While at the cash register, Erica spots a TV where a press conference is taking place – there’s Kendall! It shakes her up, but she covers by asking for chewing tobacco and lipstick. A trucker comes out of the bathroom, saying he’s headed to Chicago. Carmen tries to hitch a ride with the guy, but the guy says the truck is full. As the girls leave, Erica drops a piece of paper on the floor…a clue, maybe?

Greenlee and Aidan show up at the police station to support Kendall. Senator Woods offers apologies and admits to Kendall that the woman with Erica is armed, but says he doesn’t feel that they have any reason to worry about her. Kendall turns on Zach, telling him that he shouldn’t have withheld information from her. She asks him to hold her and he does. Meanwhile, Greenlee and Aidan come to her side, but as they try to console her, Senator Woods brings news that the press is outside, wanting information. Zach advises Kendall to stay away from the media, but Kendall plans to talk. “I would like to talk to the woman who’s holding my mother hostage,” Kendall says into the cameras, bravely but tearfully pleading for Carmen to bring Erica back. Greenlee tries to console Kendall, to remind her that everything will be okay, but Kendall reminds Greenlee that nothing is ever okay for the Slaters or the Kanes. “This is it, Greenlee. No more. I’m done with this. No one will ever take anything from us ever again!” Kendall resolves.

Back at the busy Chandler Mansion...Adam shoots the breeze with Robert about Robert’s upcoming retirement. Adam offers to help him out with whatever he needs, in indebtedness for saving Colby. Nearby, Tad, Krystal, and Opal are skeptically watching Adam schmooze with Robert. Opal tries to console Tad, saying she knows how it must feel to have a Gardner back in his life. She asks Tad to try to have an open mind about Robert. Tad reluctantly nods. In the entryway, JR is saying goodbye to Babe, and suggests another game of cards. “If you win, I’ll do anything you want,” he promises. “If you lose, you have to stay here at the mansion.” But Babe doesn’t want to play – she wants to go home to her own place. While Robert steps out to make a sinister-sounding phone call, Adam offers Krystal a drink, but she instead lectures him about not taking care of himself. Colby enters and finds Tad. She says she’s sad that the “full house” is disbanding. Babe presses Colby for details about what happened – she tells them the whole kidnapping story. “Frankie totally saved my life,” she gushes. Frankie shows up and Adam thanks him for everything he did. “For the record, your daughter played a pretty important part, too,” Frankie insists. Colby comes into the room and Frankie gives her a gift – a pair of replacement shoes. She hugs him. “Well…I smell romance,” Krystal says, peeking through a nearby door. Frankie apologizes to Colby for calling her spoiled. “You’re more than Daddy’s Little Rich Girl and I’m sorry it took me so long to see that,” he says. Just as Frankie’s about to leave, JR comes downstairs and stumbles a little. Frankie’s concerned, but JR blames it on “the flu,” and shrugs off pressure to head to the hospital for evaluation. Finally, everyone’s packed and leaving. Krystal turns to Adam to thank him for letting them stay. “Next time you need your life saved, you’ll know where to turn,” Adam says. Tad faces Robert and stiltedly thanks him for last night. Robert assures him that’s what families are for. Again, Adam offers to help out Robert.

Jesse and Angie arrive at the police station, and Jesse sees the photo of him from when he “died in the line of duty.” Derek and Jesse talk about the case, but Jesse is still not convinced that all of the loose ends are tied up. He asks Derek to let him know if anything else pops up about this case. Angie pumps up Jesse to live the rest of their lives together. As they embrace, a procession of cops file into the room, giving Jesse a standing ovation, leaving Jesse and Angie proud and tearful.
Zach tries to thank Sam for being “so intense” about finding Erica. Sam tells him that he’ll soon find that he’s “intense about a lot of things,” and briskly leaves. Zach’s phone rings and he answers. It’s the convenience store clerk, who found the piece of paper that Erica had dropped. It was a clue for them – Erica’s headed for Chicago.

Outside the convenience store, Carmen and Erica stow away in the back of a big rig. The driver comes out and locks them in, ready to drive off to Chicago, not knowing that he's got two fugitives in tow!
