Krystal and JR come up with a stunning plan. Adam and Colby argue. Julia and Angie begin looking for links between Frankie and other patients. Greenlee admits how sick she really is. Kendall asks Zach to come back to her.

At the penthouse, Aidan tells Kendall that she is losing her mind to believe that Greenlee and Zach slept together. Kendall doesn't think so; she believes their sleeping together is the reason Greens and Zach are so much closer now than before the bomb shelter. The more Kendall talks the angrier Aidan becomes. He says he would understand if something did happen in the bomb shelter; Kendall says she wouldn't! "Don't you think that's being a little hypocritical?" Aidan asks. Kendall admits it is but she still can't let go of the fear that Zach and Greens slept together. Aidan finally figures out that Kendall is afraid the old Greenlee - the one who used to steal her boyfriends - is now after her husband! He tells her to get serious and points out that there were snakes and dead bodies and starvation conditions in the shelter; he asks when Greenlee's great seduction would have happened. Kendall tells him not to be blind. Tired of the arguing, Aidan tells Kendall they are leaving. "It's freezing cold outside, maybe that will chill you out," Aidan says when she objects. Still annoyed she grabs her coat and they go outside. They return from the walk and Kendall apologizes for the things she said and the way she has been overreacting lately.

Still at Sylvester's, the pain in Greenlee's stomach subsides and she admits to Zach that she is very scared of what could be wrong with her. Zach says she'll be fine and points out that she has won him over - a nearly impossible task. He gives her his coat to keep her warm. "Do you ever miss being in the shelter?" Greenlee asks, surprising Zach. He says he does miss some of the quiet moments they had. They talk about how hard it has been to get back to real life and how they haven't been able to talk to Kendall or Aidan about their time underground. Soon Zach convinces Greenlee that they need to leave. Greens says she'll go with him as long as they don't go to the hospital and they don't tell Aidan about her illness. Zach says that is dumb. Greenlee hugs him and asks him to just take her home. He agrees but warns that he won't give up on getting her to the hospital. Greenlee and Zach return to the penthouse, both chilled to the bone. Greenlee has another pain but Zach doesn't notice because he is using the phone. He stokes the fire and thanks her for talking with him. Then Zach tells Greenlee not to keep her illness secret; she says she is feeling better already so she doesn't need to tell Aidan anything. Zach doesn't believe her; he offers to make them hot chocolate. Zach leaves the penthouse and finds Kendall and Aidan hugging in the hall! Greens follows him out and Kendall angrily asks why neither of them bothered to check in. They go back inside, with Greenlee apologizing to Kendall because she didn't tell her about Zach. "Why aren't we all happy?" Greenlee asks. Kendall apologizes, saying she was just worried. Zach and Kendall leave the penthouse. Greenlee turns to Aidan and tells him she isn't getting better and apologizes for lying to him about her health. He hugs her. She says she is really tired and promises to talk to Joe the next day. "First thing in the morning, all right?" he asks and carries her off to bed.
In the hall Kendall asks Zach why he went back to Sylvester's. He doesn't have an answer; he also doesn't know how Greenlee found him there. "I'm feeling a little left out of your life right now and I don't like it very much," Kendall says. She tells Zach she can handle anything he throws at her and asks if they can be strong, together, the way they have always been. Zach says they can and tells her he loves her. He kisses her.

Colby gets Adam back to the manse and asks him again why he did it. He makes a remark about Tad and Zach being stupid and deserving it. "What does that make me?" Colby asks. Adam finally begins to realize how his actions affected Colby and tells her that it wasn't her fault. Then he lies, saying he just wanted to bury the hatchet, but Colby doesn't believe him. Finally, he tells the partial truth: that he wanted to show the people in that room that he wasn't finished in Pine Valley. Colby says it was a desperate move and that it didn't accomplish what he wanted. Adam doesn't want to listen to what Colby is saying and tells her he is tired. She asks him to stop using her to fight his battles; he agrees. Colby says she is spending the night at the mansion and Adam is very relieved. "I love you," he says, hugging her.

At the hospital, Krystal can't forget about what Adam said about Kate. She calls JR and says they need to talk! He invites her over. Krystal tells JR about Adam's "deal" to return Kate to Tad. JR is stunned and doesn't want to believe Krystal but both of them realize that Adam could have information about Kate. Krystal asks JR to return to Adam's home - to live with him and pretend forgiveness - so that they can learn more about Kate! JR wonders if Tad is in on the plan and Krystal says they have to keep it from him at any cost. JR can't believe what Krystal is asking because it will lead to a lot more lies - to Tad, to Babe, to little A. Finally he agrees to help, believing that this is a chance to test just how impervious he is to Adam's scheming. Krystal leaves. JR calls Adam and asks if they can talk. He promises to stop by the mansion tomorrow. "It's about a truce," JR says and hangs up. Adam can't believe it. Colby, who was listening at the door, asks what that was all about.
Tad is waiting for Joe in the hall and asks how the patient is. Joe tells him he doesn't know - and that the patient is Frankie! Joe tells Tad what they know, that "Quinton" was living in the woods and had been helping Aidan. Joe is at a loss as to why Frankie was going under an assumed name or what is wrong with him now. Tad tells Joe about running into Angie at the Valley Inn, thanks to Adam's "wedding reception". They chat a bit more, mostly about Adam's real motivations for the reception. Joe has to return to work so he leaves Tad in the waiting area. Krystal returns, kisses him, and asks if they can go home.

In Frankie's hospital room Angie asks why he didn't contact her or tell her where he was. Frankie apologizes and says he just needed some time to himself. Angie brings up his time in Iraq and asks why he couldn't talk to her or Jacob about it. "I get it, Ma, I get it," he says and asks about Cassandra. Angie tells him his sister is fine. Frankie has another seizure and Angie calls for help. Julia rushes in. Frankie stops breathing! Angie and Julia go to work on him; Angie finds that something is blocking his airway but she can't clear it. She does a tracheotomy on him! They stabilize Frankie and get a heartbeat. Julia and Angie officially introduce themselves. Angie asks about local viruses and blood screens; Julia says they haven't been able to connect Frankie's illness to anyone else in Pine Valley. Julia leaves to start on the blood work. Angie sits by Frankie's bedside and watches him sleep. Julia returns with the blood screen results. She found three similar cases but none are to the extreme that Frankie's case has been. Julia shows her one more file - Greenlee's! - and says her case is the only one they haven't been able to close. A while later Julia gathers her things to leave for the night; her wallet falls out of her bag and Angie sees a picture of Kathy. They talk about being moms and then Julia leaves. Angie returns to Frankie and promises him that she will fix whatever is wrong with him.
