Adam makes a startling discovery about Kathy. Aidan and Quentin find an underground room. Kendall and Ryan learn the accident didn't cause Spike's deafness!
Later on at the Chandler Mansion, JR tells Adam all about Tad's custody plans. Angry, Adam turns to leave but JR stops him, telling him to stay away from Tad - and Krystal! Adam tries to fight JR but JR won't back down. He tells Adam that what Tad is doing now is no different than what Adam did to Dixie to gain custody of JR. He asks why Adam should be allowed to take a child but Tad should not. Adam doesn't see the similarities. JR orders Adam to let Krystal handle Tad alone, saying that nothing Adam can do will help in the situation because of what he did to Jenny. Adam insists that Krystal has forgiven him and swears that Tad won't keep him from the woman he loves. They argue and frustrated JR returns upstairs. Adam calls Barry who tells Adam that Julia's adopted daughter Kathy is very likely Tad's biological daughter Kate!
At the Martin home, Krystal tells Tad that she isn't taking Jenny from him - she is running away from Adam! Tad has no clue where Krystal is going with her new decision but listens as she tells him that leaving everyone - including Adam - is the only way to keep Jenny safe. She promises to let him know where she winds up but insists that leaving Pine Valley is the only way to do it. Then she says they can start a new life together somewhere else. "We? As in you and me?" Tad asks and Krystal says yes! He says he can't leave P.V. and points out that she would be leaving Babe and Colby and her business behind. He wonders if she could leave them all. Krystal doesn't see another way to keep herself - and Jenny - away from Adam. Tad shows her that running won't work because Adam would just follow her and find her. Krystal says she doesn't want a custody fight with Tad and her only other option is to run. Tad tells her that they can work things out. Angrily, Krystal packs up Jenny and says she'll move in with Babe for a while. "My daughter is not leaving this house," Tad says. Krystal swears he won't keep her from her child and when Jenny begins to cry, picks the little one up to comfort her. Tad does his my-way-or-the-highway routine a little more and Krystal leaves the house. Adam arrives a while later and tells Tad that he has information that Tad may want - and that it may change his mind about suing for custody of Jenny!
Kendall takes Spike home and finds Ryan waiting there. She tells him there is nothing new on the Zach front but says Aidan is still looking for them both. Ryan is watching her compassionately and Kendall tells him to stop treating her like a widow! Ryan suggests they have some dinner and Kendall tells him Josh and Erica will be home soon; she suggests he invite Annie and Emma, too. Ryan calls in their order for Chinese food. To get her mind off of Zach Kendall asks about Annie. Ryan updates her on the Richie situation. Spike begins crying in the nursery and Kendall listens through the monitor. Kendall tells Ryan about her promise to confess about setting up Greenlee and how she didn't keep the promise. They talk for a bit about Greenlee - the past and the present. Ryan blames himself, saying if he hadn't left and faked his death none of this would have happened. Kendall tells him it wasn't his fault any more than it was Zach's fault or her own. Kendall tries to call Aidan for an update but he doesn't answer. Just then Joe stops by and tells them that there is news about Spike's deafness - Joe says the cause of Spike's hearing loss may not have been the result of the accident. Joe says Spike had a chromosomal abnormality that caused Spike to lose his hearing and it was coincidence that the abnormality manifested itself at the time of the accident.
At Sylvester's, Aidan meets up with Quentin who hasn't found Zach or Greenlee but did find a bloody rock near where Aidan found Greenlee's phone. Quentin points out that they have been missing for weeks, that the temperature is dropping and they don't have outdoor gear. Aidan refuses to consider that they might be dead or dying. They fight but Quentin pushes Aidan away. Aidan says they need to search again even thought Quentin is certain that they won't find anything. Aidan leaves to search some more and Quentin follows. They are walking in the woods when Aidan walks over a metal door in the ground! They get the door open but can't see anything in the depths. Quentin ties a rope around Aidan and begins to lower him into the hole!
In the bomb shelter Zach goes after the snake and kills it with the shovel. Greenlee begins freaking out, believing this is the end for her. "I don't wanna die, I don't wanna die," she says. Zach tries to calm her down and instructs Greenlee to keep her hand below her heart. He gives he a popsicle stick type board, places his mouth over the wound and begins to suck the venom out of her! Zach bandages her wound, instructs Greenlee to stay calm and keep her hand below her heart. He hands her a bottle of booze hoping that will calm her, too. Greens asks Zach to get rid of the snake and he says he can't - because the snake is going to be their dinner! Zach goes back to digging but Greenlee makes him stop. She hears a light hammering sound from above them!
