Greenlee confesses to Zach. Ryan confesses to Kendall. Kendall and Hannah fight and so do Babe and Annie. Meanwhile, Richie and Janet plot together!
Zach continues digging in the bomb shelter. After a while Greenlee turns back to him to see how the progress is going. Zach is very distant and she wonders why. Then, she realizes that this is the day of Spike's operation. Greenlee apologizes once again for keeping Zach away from his family and for her part in Spike's deafness. Zach doesn't want to hear anything about Spike from her but Greenlee keeps talking and tells Zach she was going to take Spike! She tells him that for a second she wanted what she was supposed to have - Spike! - because he trusted her and no one else would give her the time of day. But, she tells Zach that she was turning around to bring Spike back when the accident happened. "I would do anything to make it right," she cries. Zach stares at her for a few seconds and then turns back to the wall to continue digging. When Greens won't stop talking about how she admitted her mistakes and apologized, Zach tells her to shut up and dig. Greenlee just keeps going, ranting about forgiveness and changes. Zach turns back to the wall but Greenlee just keeps interrupting him. He refuses to listen to her and returns to the wall anyhow. Greenlee finally shuts up and holds the flashlights so he can see better.
Aidan is back in the woods searching for more clues. Up a hill he looks down and sees someone wrapped up in a sleeping bag! Aidan sneaks up on the figure, but the kid is aware that Aidan is there and nearly sneaks up on him instead! Aidan is too fast and puts the kid in a headlock, asking who he is and what he is doing there. The kid, Quentin, says he was only camping and didn't mean any harm. He promises to leave as soon as Aidan lets him go. Aidan has more questions, though, and keeps on the kid to find out why he is really on the property. Aidan spots an emergency medical bag and grabs it. Quentin tries to grab it back but Aidan won't let go. Quentin continues gathering his things and ignores Aidan's questions about the medical bag. He stops, though, when Aidan asks him for help! Telling the man that he needs help from someone trained, he asks if he has seen anything and offers to let the man stay at Sylvester's house in the meantime. Quentin tells Aidan that he was in the Army and agrees to help with the search. On the map, Aidan shows Quentin where he has already searched and then leaves so they can cover more ground.
At the hospital Ryan, Annie and Kendall speculate on whether Spike will be able to hear once the implant is turned on. Jason, the little boy Kendall met on Erica's show, stops by to see them. He has a present for Spike - a CD that the kiddo can listen to in a few weeks. Across the room, Ryan realizes Annie is still distracted by Richie and tells Annie that she doesn't have to worry about her brother any longer. Annie isn't so sure; she is afraid that even after he is dead Richie will still be able to affect her. Kendall returns to them and introduces Jason. Kendall promises to arrange a play date between Jason and Spike in a few weeks. Jason leaves. Annie leaves for a moment, too, to check on Emma and Corrinna. When they are alone Ryan brings up Greenlee and tells Kendall that he saw Aidan taking Greens from the courthouse but he let them both go. When Kendall becomes angry, Ryan turns things around on her and asks why she went to the hearing. He tells her that she could have put herself in real danger of jail time. Kendall admits that she would have told the truth and says she would do anything to change what happened. She storms out and runs directly in to Hannah. Angry, Hannah asks Kendall what she thinks she is doing. "Zach is out there, somewhere, because of you," Hannah accuses. The women begin arguing about Zach and what Kendall did or didn't do to drive Zach over the edge. Hannah tells Kendall that if Zach were with her Zach never would have gone missing; Kendall tells Hannah that Zach was thiiiis close to firing her. Ryan comes over as Hannah walks off. Kendall doesn't want to talk about Hannah, though, and insists on focusing on Spike.
Down the hall, Annie calls Corrinna to check on Emma. Babe walks up and Annie tells her about having Richie committed. Babe can't believe it and asks what lies Annie told; Annie insists that she told the truth only. Babe doesn't believe her and tells Annie that she won't be manipulated by them! Annie tells Babe about Richie's plan to have her kill him. Babe refuses to believe Annie and leaves. Annie returns to Ryan and Kendall just as Joe arrives. He tells them that Spike will be transferred to his private room soon and that things look good for the little guy. Joe shows them in to Spike's room and the adults encourage him to be strong. After a while Ryan leaves to spread the word about Spike but Kendall stays with him.
In the psych ward, Janet offers some Jello to Richie but he doesn't want anything to do with Janet or the psych ward and tells her so! Janet tells Richie that he better listen to her advice or he'll wind up in the psych ward for a long, long time. Richie tells her he knows how to manipulate the system but Janet is positive that he doesn't. They chat for a bit, both showing their more dangerous sides. Finally, Janet tells Richie that she will help him escape!
