Digging For Answers Monday, December 03 2007

Zach and Greenlee begin to dig. Lily overhears murder talk between Richie and Chambers. Ryan plans to get more information about Chambers. Erica and Kendall beg Tad for answers.

Ryan and Annie arrive at the park with Corrinna and Emma. Walter is there, too. Walter buys the girls hot cocoa. Annie sends Corrinna off with Emma so she can focus on Walter. Annie asks him not to take how he feels about her out on Emma! Walter goes over to the bench to talk with the little girl and explains about lip reading. Emma wants to learn; instead Walter begins teaching her different magic tricks. Annie watches, upset because Walter used to perform those same tricks for her. They watch Emma for a while. Annie realizes that no matter what happens with Richie, her relationship with her father is irrevocably broken. Ryan agrees with her but says they still have Emma and nothing can break the bond they have with their little girl! As they chat, the conversation turns back to Richie. Ryan has an idea that might get them some information on Dr. Chambers - he calls Jonathan and asks him to find out everything he can about Dr. Chambers. They plan on getting the parole transcripts! Annie returns to Walter and Emma and plays with them. Ryan watches from a distance.

In the hospital, Richie and Chambers talk. The doc tells Richie that he is there to collect on a favor Richie owes him! The doctor makes a few threats but that doesn't bother Richie at all. Lily walks in but Richie doesn't remember her at all. Lily doesn't catch on at first and asks why he didn't show up for their date. Richie finally remembers meeting her at the yacht club and apologizes for missing their date. He asks her to leave so he can talk to his doctor. Lily is hurt and leaves the room. "How can he be my boyfriend if he doesn't even remember my name?" Lily asks herself. A woman walks by and touches her with a bundle of red roses. Lily freaks out and runs for the nearest closet where she begins her number exercises. After going through the numbers, Lily begins to wonder why Richie may have forgotten about her. She comes to the conclusion that it is the medication he is on that has caused him to forget her!

Back in his room, Richie fakes a pain and asks Chambers to call for help. Instead, he steps closer and Richie grabs him! He tells the doc that he is in charge - and says the doctor better not forget that! Richie tells him that the murder will happen just like they planned. Neither notices that Lily is listening at the door! She becomes nervous, chants "murder" over and over and knocks over a tray of supplies. Richie hears the ruckus and asks Chambers to check it out. He doesn't see anything outside and returns to Richie, who reassures him that things will play out just as they planned.

At the PI office, Tad and Aidan go back over the details of Sylvester's property. Neither can find anything. Kendall and Erica arrive and ask to hire them - to find Zach! Aidan turns them down which angers Kendall. Tad gets between them and tells Kendall they don't have any extra resources. Kendall spies the post-its on the wall with the map. Aidan orders her to leave the office! Tad gets between them again, tells Aidan to calm down and suggests they give Kendall and Erica information just to get them out of the office. Aidan returns to his desk but when Kendall keeps asking questions about Zach and ignoring the fact that Greenlee is there, too, he gets angry and starts a fight with Kendall! "You want Zach gone, that's why you won't look for him," Kendall accuses. Tad steps in before the argument can go farther. Erica steps in and reminds them that she went on her show to ask people to call in about Greens and Zach. Aidan doesn't believe Erica's motives were altruistic and tells her so. He storms out. Kendall turns back to Tad. Erica begs him to help them find Zach. Kendall is captivated by the map and moves to it. She recognizes some of the areas that have been marked and puts two and two together - she knows Tad and Aidan believe Greenlee and Zach are together! Tad tells them he doesn't have proof of anything and the map is useless. Erica and Kendall keep badgering him, asking him to share whatever he knows. Tad won't tell them anything but promises to call if he gets any proof.

In the bomb shelter, Greenlee has almost reached the top of the ladder. She becomes very scared of the height but reaches up toward the ceiling anyway. When she doesn't touch anything, Greens realizes she has to keep climbing. She reaches up but the ladder gives way under her feet and she falls! Zach breaks her fall. Greenlee tells him she didn't see anything at the top but she did feel fresh air. Zach says that is their way out but neither knows how they can get to the top with the ladder in pieces on the ground. "We're gonna die down here, we're gonna die down here," she chants. Zach shakes Greenlee, trying to calm her down. He promises he'll find a way out for both of them. Greenlee becomes angry and tosses a can at the wall. Part of it crumbles away and Zach realizes they may be able to dig their way out! He begins to dig but doesn't get far before a portion of the wall collapses on him! He isn't hurt. Zach gets back to his feet and tells Greenlee they have to keep digging. He grabs the bottle of aspirin, tells Greenlee to stay quiet while he rests and takes a few pills. Greenlee asks about Kendall, wondering if she is happy now. Zach changes the bandage on his hand as Greenlee continues to pepper him with questions about Kendall's actions. Zach informs Greenlee that Kendall is over their friendship and the only feeling she has left is fear! He tells her about Kendall locking them all in Ian's hospital room. That stuns Greenlee. "If Kendall watched you die, she would still have to look over her shoulder every time your name is mentioned," he says. Greenlee doesn't believe him so Zach points out all the horrible things she has done since returning to Pine Valley. She tells him she deals with her actions everyday; he reminds her that Spike, Ian and Kendall do, too. Then, he says no one will ever forgive her. Zach returns to the wall and continues digging. After a while Greenlee joins him.

At conFusion, Jack is telling Julia all about Greenlee's brush with the law when she dressed up in cornrows and tattoos. They sit down and over a drink talk about the newfound love between Aidan and Greenlee. This makes Jack think about his own "true love" and Jack becomes maudlin. Julia turns the conversation back to kids and entertains Jack with stories about Kathy. He asks about her romantic interests and Julia admits she doesn't have romance in her life. She says maybe someday. Both decide to call it a night and return to their families.

Jack returns home and calls out for Lily. She is shaking in a corner. No matter what Jack tries, he can't get through to her and she just keeps rocking back and forth.
