Walter Novak comes to Pine Valley - and so does Richie's prison psychiatrist. Erica can't believe Jack really doesn't want her back. Kendall receives a gift from Zach. Zach and Greenlee work together to reach freedom.
Babe, Annie and Ryan arrive at the hospital at the same time. They allow Babe to go in to see Richie first. Annie's father arrives and asks if she happy now! Angrily, he asks Annie why she didn't call him to tell him about Richie. Annie asks why he didn't tell her about the diagnosis before and he says it was Richie's decision to keep the truth from her. They argue and Ryan steps in, telling Walter that he doesn't know anything. Richie's prison psychologist arrives and talks to Walter. They each congratulate one another on getting Richie some time out of jail. Ryan sees them and goes to talk. Neither is responsive to him. Ryan returns to Annie, tells her who the new man is and says he thinks they are up to something!
Inside, Richie asks Babe how things went with JR and she tells him about the arrest. Babe goes on and on about JR's troubles, which serves Richie very well because he needs to know what JR remembers from that night. The more Babe talks the more certain Richie becomes that he is safe from those charges. "I'd hate to be in JR's shoes," he says, holding Babe's hand! Julia arrives to update Richie's chart. Babe says she'll be back after she spends some time with Little A and tells Richie to keep fighting. Walter walks in. A doctor comes in, sees Richie's progress and says the pneumonia seems to be clearing up. Babe and Walter encourage Richie and then leave together. "If I live long enough," Richie says to the empty room, "this will still work." The doctor leaves and Richie settles down to rest. The psychologist enters from another doorway! He wakes Richie, who isn't surprised to see him there. "Your dying of pneumonia wasn't part of our deal," the psychiatrist says!
Back in the hallway, Ryan sees Julia and asks why Richie's prison psychologist was called in. Julia says the hospital didn't call him and returns to her rounds. Ryan wonders who called the psychologist and why.
Jack sees Julia. She doesn't realize it is him and goes off on him about interrupting her. She apologizes and asks about Greenlee. Jack updates her and asks for Greens' medical records for Aidan's search. Julia agrees to check in it. A few minutes later, Julia tells Jack she can bring him the records on her way home from work. He leaves.
Walter and Babe sit together in the hall and Walter gets a little teary over Richie. Corrina arrives with Emma, who notices Walter crying. Annie and Ryan notice him, too, as Emma asks who he is. Annie introduces them. "I always wanted a grandpa," Emma says, excited to meet him.
Down the hall, Ryan makes a call to find out more information on Richie's psychiatrist. He learns that the psychiatrist called in sick to work to be in Pine Valley!
In the bomb shelter Greenlee asks Zach why Kendall didn't tell the truth in court. He says he wouldn't let her! They argue and Zach tries to sit up; something at the top of the shelter catches his eye and he points it out. He gets to his feet wondering if the object could be a ladder. They argue for a while about Greenlee "impersonating" Kendall to get answers from him. Finally Zach moves to the wall and pulls down a tarp. It is hiding a ladder! They realize they will have to climb to reach it. Greenlee volunteers and they work together to reach the ladder. Zach rigs a pulley system and Greenlee begins to climb. Greenlee reaches the ladder, which is attached to the wall. Zach encourages her when Greenlee gets scared. She continues to climb!
At home, Kendall is trying to keep her mind off Zach but cannot. She calls Derek for an update but there is no news. She brings pictures of Spike and Ian to the table and begins another session of creative therapy to distract herself. She can't concentrate. A delivery man interrupts with a package from Zach! She opens the package - it's a gift that Zach ordered before he disappeared and doesn't hold any clues for her. Kendall cries over the message he sent and opens the box which holds a charm bracelet with the moon and stars on it. "I love you, too, Zach. Come home to us," she says, crying. She sits on the sofa staring at pictures of the boys and Zach and then begins to write on her pad of paper. She ignores a call from Erica and continues to work.
At New Beginnings, Jack tells Erica she just made things much worse for Greenlee. Erica doesn't believe that and tells Jack flashing Greenlee's picture on television could help them find her faster! Erica pleads with him to understand she had Greenlee's best interests at heart but Jack can't get past the fake commitment papers. When Erica keeps talking about their relationship and fixing things Jack becomes even more angry and says she needs to stop using Greenlee to get to him! He brings up the forged papers and Erica apologizes, saying she would change things if she could. Since she can't take back what she did, she asks how she can make things right. Jack suggests Erica get Kendall on her show to confess to the world that she set up Greenlee! Upset, Jack wonders if he'll ever see Greenlee again. Erica says they should work together to bring Greens home. Jack tells her there is no "we" between them but she refuses to believe him. "I don't love you anymore," he says and walks away. Erica stands alone on the set for several minutes. The lights are shut down. She goes to a table, pulls her phone from her bag and calls Kendall. The call isn't answered.
Kendall is still working on her "therapy" when Erica arrives. Kendall ignores her but Erica hollers through the door that she knows Kendall is there and then starts banging on the door. Kendall is about to open the door when Erica uses her key to goes inside anyway. Kendall makes up a story about napping and tells Erica she needs to relax. Erica asks about the boys, who are with Rachael in the nursery. Kendall wonders why Erica is really there and realizes it must be because of Jack. Annoyed, Erica tells Kendall that she just wants to help, not cry on Kendall's shoulder about Jack. Kendall tells Erica she wants peace and quiet and to be left alone! Erica grabs Kendall's blanket and tells her that they aren't wait-around-girls and says Kendall needs to come with her now!
