Ryan Believes in Greenlee!Thursday, November 08 2007 |
After confronting Zach and Kendall, Ryan sides with Greenlee. Aidan draws Tad into his plan to free Greens; Greenlee decides to plead guilty. Opal tells Erica to tell the truth.
Standing outside the NICU, Erica talks to Ian telling him how she will protect him. Opal surprises her and asks about Kendall. She is thrown when Erica says everything is fine and the whole situation is over. She asks Erica just what she is keeping secret! They sit down and Opal asks Erica to trust her with whatever has been going on. When Erica still won't say anything Opal realizes she won't talk about the family issues because of Jack. Finally Erica tells Opal that she tried to get Greenlee help but she wasn't in time; she says the kidnapping attempt may not have been a kidnapping! "You could clear Jackson's daughter but you're not gonna?" Opal asks. They talk a bit longer and Erica asks Opal if she will to a Tarot reading for her. Opal doesn’t have her cards but gives a mental reading. She tells Erica she sees a sword card - which means someone stabbed someone else in the heart! Erica insists that she isn't the stabber; Opal points out that Erica could change things if she would just tell the truth. Erica doesn't like that theory. Finally Opal tells Erica what she really doesn't want to hear: that if she keeps pushing Jack, he will stop loving her! Erica decides to go in to see Ian and the nurse offers to let her hold him. Erica is overjoyed and sits in one of the chairs to hold the little guy. "You are a Kane baby through and through," she tells him. She tells the baby that he is just like her - brave and strong and fearless! After holding him, Erica returns to Opal outside. Erica begins talking about family and Opal asks if family includes Jack - and Jack's daughter, Greenlee! Erica doesn't want to talk about that but Opal pushes her. Annoyed, Erica leaves the hospital. Joe catches her at the elevator; Erica tells him about holding Ian. Joe brings her back to earth, though, when he tells her he knows about her chat with Adam! Erica tries to play dumb but Joe doesn't believe her. "I know that you recruited Adam's help in having Jack's daughter committed," Joe says!
A stunned Jack comes in to the holding area and demands that Greenlee tell him why she is going to plead guilty to the charges. She says she just doesn't want to fight any longer. "I'm taking the deal. I'm going to prison," she says! Jack begs Greenlee to reconsider but she won't. Jack swears he will break Kendall on the witness stand but Greenlee begs him not to; she wants to atone for her crimes and feels this is the only way to do it. Finally she tells him about the embryo plot, stunning Jack all the more. Jack thinks they can use that against the Slater's, too, but Greenlee doesn't think anyone will believe her. After the way Ryan reacted to her story, she is positive that no one will ever believe her. "They're going to crucify me," Greenlee says and says though she didn't do anything this time but she is still to blame for Ian's and Spike's problems. Jack begs her to reconsider and let him fight for her. She asks about Erica but Jack won't talk about the other woman. Seeing that he won't allow her to follow through on her plan, Greenlee fires Jack as her attorney! He is stunned but swears he won't leave her alone; he says she can't fire her father. Emotionally, Greenlee asks him to please leave. Sad, Jack leaves the holding area.
Ryan insists on knowing everything about their plans. Zach doesn't feel like talking to him and tries to annoy Ryan enough that he will leave. Ryan won't go, though and asks Zach about the embryos! When Zach won't give a straight answer, Ryan realizes that everything Greenlee said was the truth. Zach tries to remind Ryan of all Greenlee's crimes and tells the other man that Greens needs to pay. Ryan won't stop, though, and asks how he would feel if someone told him that Ethan was still alive. Zach refuses to even consider that. Ryan turns to Kendall and tries to get her to answer his questions but Zach steps in. Ryan stays focused on Kendall and she tries to explain why she did what she did. Ryan doesn't care about her reasons, though, and reminds Kendall that if the truth comes out she could be the one behind bars - leaving Spike without a mother! He can't believe their plan is to just stick with the story Kendall concocted. Spike begins to cry and Kendall leaves to tend to him. When they are alone Zach gets though with Ryan and warns him not to threaten Kendall. Ryan isn't afraid of Zach and tells him to stop messing with his life and with Greenlee's life. Zach picks up Spike's picture and reminds Ryan of what Greenlee did. When Ryan keeps calling Zach out, Zach asks Ryan how what he did to Greenlee is different from what Ryan is now doing to Richie. Ryan doesn't like that comparison. Kendall returns with Spike. Ryan holds him and kisses him. A couple moments later, Rachael comes in to take Spike to his dinner. When they are alone, Ryan tells them that he doesn't want to cover for them, but he will. Just then, Kendall gets a call from Jack who tells her about Greenlee's plan to plead guilty. Trying to stay tough, Kendall says it is Greenlee's decision. Jack pleads with her to come forward. Kendall tries to put Jack off but he won't stop. Zach tries to interrupt but Kendall won't give him the phone or tell him who is calling. Jack asks Kendall to come to the arraignment; she hangs up without answering. Zach asks who called. Kendall tells Zach and Ryan about Jack's call and about the hearing; she stuns them by saying Greenlee is going to plead guilty. Kendall calls out to Rachael, asking her to stay with Spike. She is going to the hearing! Zach tries to stop her but Kendall leaves anyway. Zach follows her. Ryan follows him.
Aidan storms into his and Tad's office and tells Tad that Greenlee is innocent. Tad doesn't believe him at first; Aidan doesn't care and tells Tad he is going to bust Greens out! Tad is stunned and follows Aidan around the office while he gathers the tools he needs. He tries to talk Aidan out of it but he won't change his mind. Aidan asks Tad to help him out! Reluctantly, Tad agrees to help Aidan. They talk about a case from the year before and decide to do the something similar at Greenlee's hearing.
Before she is taken away for the arraignment, Aidan goes to visit Greenlee and tells her that everything is in motion. She is unsure but says she'll go through with it. She also tells Aidan about firing Jack; Aidan says it was the right thing to do and Jack will understand. She tells him she is ready. Aidan holds her through the bars, promising to free her. She admits how scared she is; Aidan tells her to trust him. One of the guards comes in and he swears nothing that happens in court will tear them apart. "We're going to have a life," he promises. Aidan leaves the holding area.
At the hearing, Greenlee enters alone. The DA says they have reached a deal; the judge asks Greenlee where her lawyer is and Greenlee says she is representing herself. Jack walks in and tells the judge that Greenlee isn't able to represent herself because she is in shock! The judge calls them forward. Neither notices when Tad walks in; he calls Aidan to put things in motions. Before Aidan can leave the office, though, Ryan walks in the door! Back at the hearing, the judge sides with Greens and allows her to represent herself. Kendall and Zach walk in the door, distracting Greenlee for a second.

Krystal asks Adam to stay away. Aidan asks Ryan what he will do now that he knows the truth. The courtroom dissolves into chaos - and Greenlee is gone!
