Who Sent the Locket?

Wednesday, September 19 2007
JR meets his match in Ava; Aidan and Greelee face off; Kendall and Greenlee show a united Fusion Front; Annie and Ryan stand by Jonathan; Ritchie hangs around casa Lavery; Aidan discovers the truth about the locket!

We’re at Wildwind and JR is having it out with Ava and Jonathan. He’s being typical JR-cocky and Jonathan’s having none of it, kicking JR out on his tush. But Ava stops JR from leaving the grounds at the last moment, asking for some alone time with Jonathan first. Jonathan makes it clear – he wants Ava to have nothing to do with JR. “Trust me to handle this,” Ava says. He tells her to be careful with JR. “Piece of cake,” she says, and calls JR back in to the room. Jonathan leaves. JR starts trying to tell her that his offer has been rescinded, but Ava doesn’t believe it. Has JR met his match?

At Fusion, Babe’s getting decked out all in sexy black. Amanda guesses that Babe’s got a date. Babe admits that she’s going out with Wes, which she tries to pass off as nothing serious, but admits that he’s cute. Girly squeals erupt as Kendall enters. Hugs all around. “Fusion’s really Fusion again!” Amanda says, thrilled to have Kendall back. Kendall tells them that Ian should be coming home soon and when catching them up on the latest news, lets them know that Annie won’t be in anytime soon. Di shows up, having been asked by Kendall to come for a staff meeting. She tells them that the meeting will be about Greenlee. “I will not let Fusion be torn apart, so I’ve called a cease-fire,” she explains. The girls are shocked, skeptical, and none-too-happy. Kendall assures them that things will work out fine and that she and Greenlee will never be friends again. The girls show Kendall the newest tabloid on Ava. They’re unhappy, but when Babe and Amanda suggest that they drop Ava, Kendall and Di want nothing to hear about it. Greenlee enters and overhears the conversation, then steps in. “Ava is Fusion Green,” she says. “She stays.”

Greenlee’s been summoned to The Comeback by Aidan. Aidan doesn’t look pleased. They banter a little, Greenlee spouting a Greenleeism (calling to mind the old pre-pregnancy Greenlee of years past), calling Aidan a “smug, condescending British little twit.” She confronts him about things he said about her to Ryan. He tries to explain that he only said those things to get Ryan’s confidence. “I didn’t mean it,” he says. He starts grilling her about the locket. Greenlee doesn’t want to chat about the locket or anything else with Aidan and gives him the old heave-ho. But when he tries to go after her he stumbles into a nearby table. That brings out the soft side in Greenlee and suddenly she’s all about helping Aidan and his rock-bashed noggin get better. They kiss – it’s hot, but Greenlee has to go to work. She’s no sooner out the door than Aidan gets a call about the locket. He’s out the door, too!

Annie's hearing voices from her past

Annie and Ryan barely have time to lock themselves into their apartment before Ritchie’s sneaking around outside the door. Inside, Annie’s trying to convince Ryan once again how dangerous Ritchie is. Being away from Emma is tugging at Annie’s maternal heartstrings, and Ryan promises that they’ll go see Emma tomorrow at school. He leaves to put some things away, leaving Annie alone. She digs around in her purse and finds the locket. She starts remembering something, a voice that sounds a lot like Ritchie’s voice saying, “Your time will come.” Immediately we flash to Ritchie who has his ear pressed to the door outside.

It's not Zach in Hannah's sights this time...

At Cambius, Josh enters his office to find a smiling Hannah sitting in his chair. “Miss me?” she asks with just a little hint of flirt in her voice. She tries to explain that she’s there to help Zach get through his tough time, but Josh isn’t buying it. He asks questions, but mum’s the word with Hannah wherever Zach is concerned. Josh warns her to lay off his sister’s husband. “You give me far too much credit and Zach very little,” Hannah says, that smile still wiped across her face. She promises no tricks. Josh threatens her more directly to stay away from Kendall’s family. Hannah tries to change the subject, telling Josh that she’s noticed how good his work’s gotten since she left. “It is personal, Josh,” she tells him, hinting that she’s back in Pine Valley for a reason. But that reason just may not be Zach, after all, but Josh. “I really did miss you,” she says. “That’s why I came back.” But Josh looks more bitter than titillated at this point.

At Ryan and Annie’s place, Annie’s staring out the window. Ryan tries to get her to relax when she mentions going to Fusion to work. Ryan won’t let her go. She’s about to unpack when there’s a knock on the door, scaring her. It’s only Jonathan. He’s showing the tabloid picture, asking Annie if she’s now afraid of him. She says no. She leaves the room with a box. She opens it and pulls out a yearbook from Midwood High School. She reads a signature inside and again hears that ominous voice, warning her that they will always be together – it’s her brother Ritchie, who we find out, graduated two years early…with Annie. She opens the book to display Ritchie’s picture which has been scribbled out with a pen. She then pulls the page out of the book and rips it to shreds.

Meanwhile, out in the living room, Jonathan is trying to convince Ryan that he needs to drop him from his life. But Ryan, ever-faithful to his brother, won’t hear of it. Annie comes back in the room, backing up Ryan. “Everybody should have a brother like you,” she says. As Ryan starts to usher Jonathan out, Annie steals away to the fireplace and ever-so-surreptitiously lays that yearbook in the fire. Bye-bye haunting, ominous voice!

Back at Fusion, things are a bit uncomfortable with Greenlee’s presence. Brrr! The girls are super-cold to Greenlee, but they try to keep it about business, still bantering about whether Ava should stay or go. The girls are split and the ultimate decision falls to Kendall and Greenlee. Oddly, they agree. Ava stays. Kendall tells Babe that she’s got to be the one in charge of Ava from now on and Babe is incredulous. “I thought I was doing a good job here, and now you want me to be Ava’s babysitter?!” The crowd disperses, leaving Kendall and Greenlee alone. Greenlee, seeing an opportunity, whips out a few gifts for Kendall’s boys. Kendall asks to be alone. She sits at her desk with the stuffed animal Greenlee gave her, looks at it wistfully, and tosses it in the trash.

Oh, baby, has JR met his match!

Back at Wildwind, Ava and JR are still facing off, Ava giving JR a run for his money in arrogance. JR tells Ava that Jonathan refused his business idea. JR tries to backdoor things, asking Ava, “Don’t you think Jonathan owes you?” Ava catches on and tells JR that she knows he’s the one who planted the tabloid story about Jonathan. JR cops to it, but brushes right past it. He tells Ava that she’s going to benefit from his idea, leading her to believe that she’s going to be bigger than Paris and Nicole. She’s buying into it, and JR really gets going. He’s speaking Ava’s language now, and all that talk of money and fame must be getting her hot because she plants a long, slow kiss on him. They part, and, flustered, JR asks Ava if she’s in. “You want me to cheat,” she says, “And I’m not going to do it!” Now it’s Ava’s turn to laugh, telling JR that the kiss was just like her kiss with Amanda, it meant nothing. She tells JR that she won’t cheat on Fusion. But JR pushes hard, saying Babe will do everything he wants. Oops! Babe’s at the door and overheard him. Not cool for JR who’s about to find out exactly what Babe will and won’t agree to.

Super-sleuth Aidan discovers who sent the locket

Alone, Ryan and Annie are getting up close and personal on the couch in front of the fire. Finally, Annie starts to relax. There’s a knock at the door. Ryan opens it to find Aidan, who’s got news about the locket. Seems he tracked down the shipping company that delivered the locket to Annie. And who sent it to Annie, Ryan wants to know? Well, Annie, of course! She sent it to herself!

What's Ritchie doing creeping around the Lavery house?

Outside, in the hallway, a smiling Ritchie’s on the phone. “I’m just starting to have fun,” he says.
