Liar Liar!

Friday, September 07 2007
JR's got big money plans; Kendall and Zack get some down time; Erica and Greenlee try to make nice (and fail); Krystal pours her heart out to "Stuart"; Annie tells her story

Greenlee + Erica + Dinner = Heartburn

It’s twilight in Pine Valley and things are cozy at the marina between Erica and Jack. Google eyes and romantic talk abound. Enter Greenlee, who looks down upon their table smugly. She starts to turn tail and walk right back out the door, but Erica spies her and calls her name. Greenlee joins them, but is suspicious. Jack plays the intermediary, begging them to sit together and have dinner nicely. They both agree, but give each other the evil eye over the tops of their menus. Dinner is going to get interesting…

Kendall & Zach get much needed down time

At the Slater house, Zach and Kendall are enjoying a sippy cup nightcap with Spike. Things are light and relaxed and Kendall thanks Zach for “letting her have it” when it came to letting Ryan in on her plans for Spike’s hearing loss treatment. “How do you know me better than I know myself?” she wonders. He starts asking details about Spike’s therapy and Kendall tells what she knows, which isn’t much. Kendall decides it’s time for Spike to turn in.

On the beach, Annie’s feeling like talking at last. Ryan reminds her that they’re at their safe place and holds her hands, encouraging her to talk. “Kiss me,” she says. Ryan’s reluctant, asking why now? “You may never kiss me the same after this,” she explains, worry creasing her forehead. “You may never kiss me again.”

At the Carey/Martin house, Krystal and “Stuart” (Adam posed as Stuart) are alone. Krystal is telling “Stuart” that she knows exactly why he’s there and it has nothing to do with painting. “Stuart” gets nervous, flustered, afraid his cover is blown, but relaxes when she explains that she knows he’s there for the baby.

JR's not worried about his financial future

Throwing on some clothes, JR is assuring Amanda not to worry about the repossessed yacht. He’s high on his future plans for Ava and sure that soon there’ll be nothing to worry about for them financially ever again. Amanda, only worried about the money situation at hand, storms off to get dressed, as usual incensed at JR.

Back on the beach, Ryan has Annie in his arms, begging her to let him help her. She cries, says she can’t go into details, but stubbornly-supportive Ryan forces it out of her. “When my dad got hurt, that’s when everything fell apart,” she begins. She talks somewhat incoherently, insinuating that her father blamed her for her mother’s death. Ryan asks why and she answers plainly, “Because I killed her.”

With Spike safe in bed, Kendall reappears in the Slater living room, wearing a trench coat and her “lucky heels.” She and Zach play coy and Zach ends up helping her out of her trench coat. She stands and gives a striptease, much to Zach’s delight. She takes off the coat to reveal a jersey underneath. He’s loving it.

Ryan doesn’t believe Annie, saying the Annie he knows could never kill someone. She tells him that he doesn’t know the real her. They begin hashing out the details of her dad’s accident, about how the family would never talk about it, how the family fell apart after the accident. Annie reveals that her mother killed herself because of something that Annie did. Annie breaks down sobbing, saying that it had been a horrible fight and she’d said horrible things and then she’d gone to her room and slammed the door shut. Later, when she’d gone to find her mother, she found her hanging. “You didn’t kill your mother, Annie,” Ryan says. “I did, Ryan. It was my fault.” She says she killed her mother twice – once for driving her to suicide and once for not finding her in time – and that’s why her father blames her. Ryan again tries to assure her that it’s not her fault, but Annie says it’s all her fault. Seems there’s another little detail – Annie’s mother killed herself because of what Annie did to her brother.

JR being JR, he manages to finagle a deal with the yacht, getting it on credit. The deal sealed, he tries to get Amanda back into bed. But Amanda’s not feeling as hopeful as JR. She pesters JR to ask Adam for his shares back. JR won’t do it. “The whole reason for me leaving the family business was to get out from under his big thumb,” JR says. Amanda pulls out the big guns then, undressing JR and flirting, talking him into going back to Daddy for his shares, and his money, back. They fall into bed together.

Krystal doesn't know she's pouring her heart out to Adam

“Stuart” tries to convince Krystal that he and Adam are not so different. He tells her that Adam loves his children. Krystal’s not buying it. “Stuart” tries to convince Krystal that he loves Jenny. Krystal recognizes a “look” in his eyes as the same look Adam got when he talked about Charlotte, and things get sticky again, but “Stuart” dodges by saying that he and Adam have many similar looks. Krystal, distracted, reminisces about the way Adam had been so excited about Charlotte. “Stuart” asks Krystal if she’s in love with Tad. She says no, that part of her heart is still with Adam. But she tells him she wants her heart to be free of Adam and she can tell that the day of her freedom is coming soon.

Back at dinner, insults are a-flyin’. Jack tries to convince Erica that Greenlee is trying to make up for what happened with Spike. He lets it slip that Greenlee set up medical help for Spike’s hearing loss. Greenlee tries to deny it, but Erica’s ears are definitely perked. Greenlee comes clean about Dr. Hilliard. Erica’s stunned, but Jack takes Greenlee’s side. Erica, not understanding why Jack can’t see what his daughter is doing insinuating herself into Kendall’s life once again, storms off. She grabs her cell phone and calls Val.

Annie

On the beach, Annie’s giving Ryan the low down on her brother, Richie. A precocious and dangerous brat, Richie was the parents’ favorite, and Annie had to just accept it. She tells Ryan that Richie was the one responsible for her father’s accident, having pushed him out the window. “I had him put in jail for ten years,” Annie explains. “And that was the day my mother killed herself.” She explains that the DA told her that Richie would be sent to a mental institution and given help if she’d testify against him. But the DA didn’t come through on the deal and instead pushed for hard time. “I took away their only son,” Annie says. “If I hadn’t, she would still be here.” “You don’t know that,” Ryan says, then gently reprimands her for keeping this a secret from him for so long. He reassures her that nothing that happened is her fault. “You don’t know,” she keeps saying. He holds her in his arms, repeating, “It’s not your fault.” But Annie insists that she’s done something horrible, explaining, “I lied.” She says, “I had Richie put away for something he didn’t do.” Annie explains that she made up a story about seeing Richie robbing someone at gunpoint and that it was her false testimony that put him away. She expects Ryan to leave her now that he sees the “true Annie.” But Ryan tells her he loves her and always will. She pulls out the pocket watch and tells Ryan that her mom was wearing it when she died. She yanks it off her neck and together they throw it into the water. “I will not let the past hurt you again,” Ryan promises.

“Will there always be a little part of you that loves Adam?” “Stuart” asks Krystal, back at the Carey/Martin pad. But Krystal tells him that it’s really about Adam – that she’s seen the hate in Adam’s eyes when he looks at her. “Even if I could forgive him…” she says, “it wouldn’t work because he doesn’t look at Jenny the way that you do.” She kisses him and thanks him for being a good friend. “Stuart” is touched, leaves. After he’s gone, Krystal touches her own lips – did she detect a familiar touch behind that kiss?

The Slater living room is heating up, with Kendall and Zach getting up close and friendly for some much needed TLC time. Afterward, they lie entwined in each other’s arms, making promises to one another. They get playful and, in their play, knock something to the floor. Over the baby monitor, Spike begins to cry. “He heard that,” Kendall says. “Spike can hear!”

JR shows up at the Chandler mansion, just in time to catch Adam, dressed as Stuart, slinking in. JR looks a little amused. “Oh, hell no,” he says.

On the beach, a contemplative Greenlee finds Annie’s abandoned pocketwatch washed up on the shore. What could Greenlee want with that...?

Erica bursts into Dr. Hilliard’s office. Surprise! They already know one another! This can’t be good…

Next on AMC:
JR confronts Adam – who's he scheming against now?

Babe questions Ava: could you be pregnant?

Erica vows to take Dr. Hilliard down

Something’s wrong with Spike – he’s not breathing!

I'm going to fast-forward Annie situation.... She bores me
with her problems.

I feel the same way! The writers are trying to give Annie's character a bit more drama and personalities, but Annie just does NOT DO IT! Something is either with her face or her overall character but she is just not interesting to watch! I hope Rebecca Bugdig (old Greenlee) could somehow find her way back b/c AMC really had lost a great talent!

I just love Krystal and Adam, wish Adam would tell Tad about his daughter, and I still wish they would find out that Jenny really is Adam's daughter.
Tired of Kendall's s/l
I hope something real comes from Annie's s/l she is so dull.

I'm sorry I know the writers are trying to make Annie interesting but she is sooooo boring. How in the world did she make it past casting? Her character has no life and her and Ryan together is the worst. Most people matched with Cameron are great but with her it's like watching paint dry. Even the "I killed my mother and testified against my psychopath brother" storyline isn't interesting. Everything else on AMC seems to be going well except for that storyline. I kinda like the new Greenlee and there is definately chemistry between her and Aidian that doesn't seem forced. Forced is Annie on the screen. Sorry but she just isn't nailing it.

I really feel that Annie has two sides and we are about to meet the REAL Annie...I think the writers are setting her up to be dangerous....good match for the Lavery Boys..LOL

Okay, I am having a major problem with the yacht thing. It is repossessed and they give it back to J.R. on credit???? Give me a break.

Even writing about Annie and all of secrets seems boring.

Have a great weekend all.

Couldn't agree more. I kept changing the channel when Annie came on. Ava's character is too ingratiating. Grow up Greenlee and get your own life. For God's sake, quit your whining. I just can't stand it. Too may whiners on this show. I have to chose days to watch.
