Annie Is Keeping Secrets

Wednesday, August 22 2007
Annie won't tell Ryan why she changed the phone numbers. Zach sees a different side of Kendall. Ava bonds with Spike.

Ava is self-absorbed!

Jonathan returns to Kendall's room and Ryan tells him that the home phone and Annie's cell have been disconnected. Jonathan tells him to get home, that he'll watch Spike. Ryan leaves. As Jonathan watches over Spike, he tells the boy that he'll be alright. Ava bursts in, angry over Babe's decision to have Amanda watch her every more. She makes a crack about Babe and sign language and stops cold. Jonathan tells her to stop talking and hugs her. They go back to talking about Ava's plans for her future. Jonathan wonders why she is go eager to have become a household name. "Don't you know I always want more?" Ava asks, kissing him. She goes on about the next Fusion shoot. A doctor from Stanford calls Jonathan and he leaves to talk about Spike's condition. Ava goes in to sit with Spike. Not sure how to treat a baby, she pats his head and talks to him. She points out the good side of not being able to hear - it's easier to ignore people, not getting awakened by a lawn mower - but realizes the bad doesn't outweigh the good. "Different gets noticed," she says, pointing out that Lily is different, too. Jonathan returns and Ava immediately returns to talking about Fusion.

Annie keeps her secret.

Ryan returns home and calls for Annie and Emma. They walk in the door behind him. Relieved, Ryan scoops Emma up in a hug. They were out getting groceries for dinner. He tells them about finding Spike. Ryan asks about the phones but Annie doesn't give him an answer. Instead she suggests that once Spike is released from PVH that they all take off for a nice, long vacation out of town! Putting the phone situation with the vacation request, Ryan wonders what is really going on with his wife. Annie is adamant that nothing is wrong but Ryan doesn't buy it. Annie gives him the new phone numbers. "Is this about the brother?" Ryan asks. Emma interrupts them before Annie has to answer. She returns from tucking in Emma and returns to dinner preparations but Ryan won't let the subject drop. He wants to know if Terry's brother is behind the calls. Annie tells him it can't be Terry's brother but won't tell him who she thinks it is. Instead she goes back through all the tumult of the past few months, trying to blame a panic attack and overreaction on the phone situation. Ryan decides to believe her. Annie asks him about Kendall's mystery doctor visit and Ryan fills her in about Dr. Hilliard and about Ian's latest setback. Annie can't believe it; Ryan doesn't want to talk about the hospital. Instead, he pulls Annie to him and kisses her passionately. They make love. Later, Annie wakes, hearing the nursery rhyme in her head.

Joe understands Kendall.

Outside the NICU, Kendall is talking to Ian, apologizing to him for staying away from him and from Zach. Zach returns and Kendall tries one more time to apologize, this time assuring him that she'll be there for them all from now on. Still angry, Zach vents on her, letting Kendall know that her apologies aren't enough this time. He leaves to take a walk, telling Kendall that he won't tell her that what she did was okay! Joe arrives. Kendall tells him about Dr. Hilliard. Rather than heap more recriminations on her, Joe sits down, telling Kendall that he understands why she did what she did. He is paged and leaves. Kendall returns to the window, watching Ian.

Are things better between Zach and Kendall?

Zach's walk takes him to Ethan's grave. He sits down and talks, apologizing for the things he did while Ethan was alive. He asks Ethan for a favor - to help him be a better father for Ian! He asks Ethan to watch over Ian. Zach returns to the hospital to find Kendall at Ian's bedside, talking to him. She promises the baby that they will all pull through and be home before he knows it. Seeing him, Kendall goes to Zach and they embrace. "I was scared," he says.

Time to say good-bye!

Babe can't believe that Jamie is thinking of leaving town. JR listens as Babe cries. Finally he steps forward and asks for all the details. Jamie tells him about the AIDS clinic; JR is just as stunned as Babe was. Angry, JR asks why Jamie wants to leave, now that they are all finally growing close again. The brothers hug. They all sit down together to have a grown up send off, remembering the good and bad times they've had. They raise their drinks and toast to their friendship. Jamie tells JR that he is the one who inspired him to go out on his own. JR doesn't see that leaving Chandler Enterprises inspiring but Babe backs up Jamie - and JR! - by telling him it was a great decision. JR leaves, telling Jamie he wants to see him again before Jamies leaves town. Alone, Babe and Jamie go on their own, private memory walk. Crying, Babe reaches out to Jamie, wondering how she can carry on without her friend by her side. Babe tells him she dreamed about him; Jamie admits he did, too. And then he kisses her! Babe pulls away, not wanting things to go much farther with Jamie heading out of town. "I'm a phone call away if you need me," he reminds her, but Babe isn't ready to be without him. Jamie pulls a charm bracelet - a cow! - from his pocket and hands it to her. She asks Jamie to be careful while he is away; he kisses her hand and promises. He leaves but Babe stays behind to finish up some work. When she is alone, Babe lets her tears fall for real.

i hate to see jamie go he's a good actor. glad it eneded quickly. please end these other dramas quicker, ya wearin some things out and leavin some of it unsaid all together.
Ava is a goofball, Johnthan wants to be in love so bad he is overlookin her nut qualities, i hoped Ava would straighten out, Kendall should be shunned by Zack for acting like she didn't care about the newborn, come on kendall you can call everyone elses faults but you have them too...

OMG!!! What is with all the secrets with Annie??? Are you supposed to be upfront and honest in a marriage?? I mean really she feels comfortable enough to marry the guy but not to tell him about her past?? That is soooo ridiculous!! And feel sooo bad for Kendall!!! I prolly would have done the same thing if it was a credited doctor and my child wouldn't need anymore surgury. I don't agree though with her not being there for Ian at the same time. Granted she probably feels closer to Spike because she has actually bonded with him but Ian is still her son too. He need as much if not more attention than Spike does right now. Spikes conditions are not life threatening!!! Okay I'm done venting now!!!

I think Kendall is coming at this situation from a certain perspective. She feels INCREDIBLY guilty - she's consumed by guilt, actually - because she is the one who insisted on having Babe with her in the car, instead of Greenlee - so she's blaming herself for putting Spike in harms way (Greenlee's clutches) in the first place, and now she is overcompensating. Also, I think she is suffering from some PPD - and that she is afraid Ian is going to die, so she fears getting close to him. Put all of that together, and it really is too much for one person to handle. Plus she has to contend with Spike arsehat "father," Ryass. That alone would send me around the bend...

Ok, I haven't watched this soap very long and I need some help! Is 'Spike' his real name, or a nickname? Thank you!

Pleese stop letting these young people take over the show. After all the show is called All My Children meaning they do have parents.

I cannot wait to know what Annie is hiding! Please don't let them kill off baby Ian! And two more things, give Spike back his hearing and change his name!

shepmajor, I totally agree with you. As for Annie...what is she hiding?

I'm just happy that we've two episodes in a row *without* Greenlee! Woot!

I do wonder what it was that Annie did that made her father so angry with her.

By Annie and Ryan keeping Spike I certainly hope this is not another PUTTING THE KIDS IN HARMS WAY. We have had enough of that....Kendall wants Zach to tell her that everything will be okay and that what she did and is doing is okay..but I dont think he will do that right now..he was deeply hurt by her not being at the hospital and supporting him with Ian...it is like shepmajor said she feels all that guilt, etc....Ryan's manner just makes me mad...he is perfect...when in fact it is HIM that started all of this and kept it up when he invited Greenlee back into their lives...poor Annie...what could she have done or been done to her?
