Josh Has a Drink with Jeff Monday, September 11 2006

Jeff reaches out to Josh and Josh decides to have a drink with him. Kendall talks with Erica about all her doubts as a mother. Simone, Erin and Danielle enjoy a night out. David remains his cold-hearted self to Julia.

Josh sees Jeff at the bar and remains sarcastic as usual. He snaps at the bartender not to go away again because he has to keep the drinks coming. He approaches Jeff and takes a low blow at him, stating he could careless about the mighty Queen Erica and not to bother talking with him about coming back to the hospital either! He tells Jeff to quit playing the guilt card but Jeff interrupts him and replies for him take his best shot! He then tells Josh to sit down and have a drink like a grown up.

Trying to have a conversation he asks Josh how his job is going? Josh snaps wondering why he asks, that he should be ashamed what he does instead of saving lives? Jeff replies telling him he'll take a rain check with him. Josh thanks him for "stepping up to the plate and sticking around him for the long haul"! He tells Josh to cut him a break and quit the bullshit, to give him a list of topics they can talk about, facial expressions he finds acceptable or… Josh tells him enough, he gets the point! Jeff replies that they are connected and they can either find a way to relate or at least heal and get past it all.
Jeff starts to chew on ice and Josh tells him he does the same thing, thinking it's weird.

Jeff replies not so much and asks him to stick around for another drink.

Grandpa Joe shows up at Jamie's door asking if it's too late? He tells Jamie he made a big mistake by choosing Josh over him at the hospital. Joe tries to explain that Josh is his grandson as well and thought he was going to loose him so he made a bad decision! He continues, telling Jamie what a great man he truly is and how much he loves him. He doesn't want Jamie to leave town especially because Joe did something stupid. Jamie smiles replying that he's decided not to leave town. Joe asks why he let him go on like that and Jamie hugs him saying that sometimes it's good to hear how much people love him.

Offering his grandpa a beer, they sit to chat about why he chose to stay. Joe asks if there's any other reason? He tells him he assumes that Joe means Julia? She's great, he replies and does enjoy being with her.

Jamie talks to Joe about him reconsidering being a doctor. He always assumed that was his road to take but now he's not so sure. Joe sighs telling him he's almost lost so much in his life and tries to tell Jamie it doesn't matter what he does in life, they're family and that's what counts.

Erica comes to comfort and talk to Kendall. She confides to her mom that she's having quite the time being a mom, not knowing how to cook or even fold Spike's clothes. Erica assures her she's doing just fine and she appreciates being a part of it.

A frustrated Kendall talks with her about Josh and his animosity towards Erica. She hopes that Josh comes around and tells her she doesn't hate her just hates what happened. Erica disagrees but Kendall continues explaining that hate is such a waste of time and the times she hated her was horrible. Deep down, she continues she just wanted to love Erica.

They look on at baby Spike who smiles back. Kendall talks lovingly about Spike and how motherhood changes everything! She wonders if she even deserves such a perfect child? Erica replies OF COURSE she does! Erica goes on about all the great ways she is a good mother but Kendall has many doubts wondering how to continue on making better choices; referring to Zach and him bonding with Spike.

Erica reassures her that Kendall's life will not always be upside down and it does get better. She continues to tell her that Spike will grow up being strong, confident and beyond achieving everything he's going to want in life. Offering some true mothering advice she tells Kendall to remain vigilant and careful and of course Spike's going to skin his knees, maybe get in fights and even get his heart broken too but Kendall can be there for him every step of the way.

Simone, Danielle and Erin attempt to bond by having drinks at ConFusion. They share a chocolate fondue while they discuss life and all it's good and bad parts. The girls talk about lost loves and Ethan. Everyone has their battle wounds but they're all still standing and can enjoy life or find a way too!

Julia snaps at David for flirting with a patient. He replies back that it's proven that a patient being comfortable and happy aids in healing. David tells her she already had her chance with him and threw him away. She snaps that he's usually cold and careless. The doctor assures her he still is the same guy and doesn't care about life or patients, he cares about losing and loves to "give the finger to nature" when he wins one over! She smiles saying nice answer but asks him for the truth and he's full of it. But he continues that he saves lives because he gets paid to do it! She snaps that this isn't a bank. He tells her the entire world and all it does is a bank. Changing the subject he chides her for dating her little young lover. The look in her eye tells him she feels a lot for Jamie even without replying. David tells her she's a fool for falling for him and when it comes with his "tough" emotions, it hardened him when he saw the barrel of a gun inside his dad's mouth!

Julia chases him down asking if the thing with his father is true? He snaps that there's her emotional side again, life is ugly, brutal and everyone has to stand up against it all. She's had a hard go in her world but she doesn't see him giving her support he states and walks away. Later on, Julia cries behind a closed door telling herself "no more"!!
