Annie goes to see her father. Ryan gets mad at Di when she won't tell him where Annie went. Greenlee and Kendall finally have it out. Ava enjoys the spotlight; Amanda doesn't like JR's interest in the other girl.
Jonathan and Ava arrive at the yacht club. A few photographers follow them in and Ava plays up to them. She becomes slightly annoyed when she sees JR and Amanda arrive and the photographers begin paying more attention to him! JR sends the photogs on their way and they return to Ava, who plays up to them once more. She turns to JR and asks how he likes to be famous. A photographer follows her and asks for a joint photo. He declines, but Amanda encourages him to do it, after all Ava's 15 minutes will be over soon. Ava wonders what that means and Amanda tells her she'll figure it out. The photographer begins shooting the two of them; Amanda rolls her eyes. Ava returns to her dinner with Jonathan and thanks him for putting up with all the madness surrounding her. Jonathan doesn't say anything about the way she makes herself ultra-available to the press. They kiss. When their meal is served Ava asks Jonathan if she should get a manager. He becomes worried when she tells him she spent her entire first paycheck on the outfit she is currently wearing. Ava asks him about Spike and Ryan, apologizing for focusing on herself rather than his family problems. Jonathan likes the distraction that Ava offers, however, and tells her so.
Across the room, JR can't concentrate on Amanda because of Ava. Annoyed, she reminds him that before he helped out Ava he managed to lose his entire fortune trying to get back at his father. Ava and Jonathan kissing across the room takes his attention again. When JR goes on about Ava and how the press keeps sticking them together because of the drug bust, Amanda gets even more annoyed. Amanda decides it's time for The Relationship talk but JR balks. She asks about dating other people, making JR wonder if she wants to get back together with Jonathan. Amanda sets him straight about her friendship with Jonathan. She leans across the table, giving him another option for their relationship. They both start laughing. They get up to leave and JR realizes Jonathan has gone. Seeing Ava practicing her autograph he makes a smart comment; Amanda pulls him out of the club.
Kendall freaks out when she wakes up, finds Greenlee in her room and Spike nowhere to be found! A nurse hurries in, telling them that Zach took Spike to see Ian and she calms down. Turning to Greens, Kendall tells her about the dream. Greenlee begins to apologize but Kendall doesn't want to hear it. The only way she'll accept Greens' apology is if she admits to the world she was trying to kidnap Spike! Greenlee just keeps trying to apologize but Kendall won't listen. She begins to cry when Greenlee keeps telling her how much she loves Spike. Kendall pulls herself together, picks up a few of Spike's toys and tells Greens that Spike can't even enjoy his toys anymore. Greenlee won't go so Kendall changes tactics, blaming Greenlee for Ian, too, because the doctors had stopped the labor until she learned that Greens had kidnapped Spike. "Don't make this about your pain or your suffering," she says. Greenlee picks up a tray with doctors instruments and tells Kendall to make her dream come true! Kendall knocks the tray away. Greenlee sees that as a good sign and reminds Kendall of how she held up Greens after the miscarriage. She offers to help Kendall the same way! Kendall is stunned. Ryan walks in, holds the door and indicates Greenlee should leave. She tries to talk to him but he shuts the door in her face!
Ryan goes to Fusion to find Annie but neither Babe nor Di knows where she is, or at least they pretend not to. Di tries to change the subject but Ryan asks directly where Annie may have gone. Neither answers him, which only makes Ryan more worried. When he keeps going on and on, Di tells him Annie is fine. Ryan wonders how she knows that. She tells him Annie just had a few errands to run but Ryan doesn't buy the explanation and demands to know where she went. Di tells him she is doing research for Spike's condition but Ryan doesn't believe that either. She tells Ryan that Annie didn't want to get his hopes up and that is why she didn't tell him straight out. "She wanted to plan for all the options," Di says but Ryan still doesn't believe her. Babe backs Di up. Ryan leaves and Babe asks what is really going on. Di tells her that Annie told her something in confidence and she doesn't feel right about telling Ryan. Babe is torn between understanding where Di is coming from and her friendship with Ryan. She pushes the issue, asking Di why Annie is keeping secrets. Di tells Babe not to push things because Annie has every right to bury her past - and keep it buried! This only makes Babe more curious but Di won't fill her in on anything. "Annie's had more than her share of bad memories," Di says and asks Babe to drop it.
Annie arrives at an apartment. She pushes the doorbell and a light begins to flash. "Hi, Dad," she says when a man opens the door. She goes inside but her father won't even look at her. Annie walks in front of him so he doesn't have a choice but to look at her. He begins to speak in sign language but goes too fast for her. Finally, he speaks a little. "After what you did, how can I even look at you again?" he asks. She apologizes for contacting him and then goes on to tell him about spike and asks him to help her help the boy and his family. Annie sees a shell and picks it up. Her father demands she put it down and leave. Before she goes, Annie asks him for the name of the woman who helped him when he lost his hearing. He calls her a hypocrite and orders her to leave! Annie won't leave, though. She tells him what she remembers of the woman, called Elizabeth, and then tells him about Spike and Ryan and the rest of her family. Her father relents and gives her an address. Annie keeps talking to him but he turns to his paints. Annie makes his look at her lips so he'll understand, gives him a picture of Emma - whom she named for her mother! - and then turns to leave. At the door she turns, gets his attention and apologizes for whatever happened in the past. He turns away from her. She leaves the apartment. After she has gone, Annie's father picks up the picture of Emma. Annie follows her father's directions to a cemetery and her mother's grave! She sinks to her knees and begins to cry.
