Spike Is Deaf! Monday, August 06 2007

The doctors realize there is more wrong with Spike. The drug sting goes bad and Ava is taken hostage!

A nurse comes running into Spike's room to see what the commotion is. Zach tells her he didn't react when the tray fell and she goes to find Joe. Ryan and Annie come in as Kendall tries to get some kind of reaction from the baby but he doesn't pay any attention. Greenlee sneaks out the door. Joe arrives and asks everyone to leave the room. Kendall refuses to go. Zach tries to convince Kendall that the baby will be find with the doctors but she refuses, thinking Greenlee did something to him while she was there alone. The doctors come back in and allow them to stay as long as they stay out of the way. As the doctors work, Annie comes in to stay with Kendall and Zach leaves.

Outside, Ryan and Zach realize Greenlee is still hanging around and wonder why. Ryan tells Greenlee she has no business at the hospital and tells her she should just leave. Seeing he has things under control, Zach walks away. Greenlee can't believe what she is hearing and tells Ryan she does have a right to be there. Angry, Ryan tells Greenlee that she is the root of everything bad that has happened to his family! "I don't care where you go. Just go," he says and goes inside Spike's hospital room. Greenlee doesn't leave, she watches the room from across the hall. Zach returns, pauses when he sees her but continues on inside.

Joe takes them all outside to give them his prognosis. They don't know why but Spike isn't responding to them at all. They need more tests to determine exactly what is wrong. Ryan asks about the worst case scenario. Joe assures them that Spike isn't in critical danger and that the problem, while probably not minor, also probably won't cause the boy any more harm. He promises them they will find out and the doctors return inside, shutting out Kendall, Ryan, Zach and Annie. Greenlee listens from down the hall. Sitting down, Kendall wonders how much more Spike can take. "He'll pull through," Zach says. Ryan watches as Greens limps away. Kendall and Zach return inside to sit with Spike. Annie comes in and Zach returns outside with Ryan. He asks if Greenlee has finally gone and Ryan wonders why Greens keeps showing up. Zach tells Ryan he is going to take care of her! Ryan asks about Ian and Zach updates him. Joe returns. He tells them that Spike won't die because of the problems, but that there is a problem - Spike is deaf!

Down the hall, Greenlee tries to reach Jack but only gets his voicemail. Greenlee flags down a nurse and asks for updates on Spike but she won't tell Greens anything. As she tries to listen in, someone sneaks up behind her, places his hands over her face and takes her away!

Erica goes to see Adam at the Chandler mansion, trying to find out what he has in mind for Zach and Cambias. She tells Adam to rethink any plan he is making because it is the last thing that Zach or Kendall need on their plates right now. She defends Zach, telling Adam he is a good man. Sitting with him on the terrace, Erica plays up to Adam's emotions and asks him to stay away from Zach for her! Adam has Lucretia make up some tea and sandwiches, annoying Erica. Adam surprises her by asking about Spike. Erica tells him what is going on. Emotionally, Adam assures her that Spike will be fine and then asks about Ian. He eats up the news of both boys and as she talks about her family Erica begins to cry. Adam goes to her, holding her close. Adam finally agrees not to go after Zach. The hospital calls Erica and she rushes off. Alone, Adam makes a call and tells the man to finalize their plan to take back Chandler Enterprises!

Jonathan meets Lily at the Montgomery home, trying to find Ava. Lily hasn't seen her but asks Jonathan to stick around so they can talk. Jonathan goes inside and Lily brings her computer to him to show him, statistically, how well she is going with the news that he is seeing Ava. She asks him what kind of birth control they are using, making Jonathan very uncomfortable. He changes the subject and asks Lily where Ava might have gone. She immediately begins to wonder if Ava is using drugs. Jonathan doesn't think it is drugs and he and Lily begin to talk over where Ava may have gone.

JR and Amanda meet up at the yacht club. Seeing his happy mood, Amanda thinks he has found the ransom money and gets set to start spending. JR bursts her bubble, telling her the money is still missing. Annoyed Amanda asks what the all-fired hurry was to get her there and he shows her a picture of a yacht. Thinking he bought a yacht, Amanda gets mad. JR sets her straight - he didn't buy the yacht, he is yacht-sitting for a friend. He asks Amanda to help him christen the ship right then. She agrees and they set off for the docks.

On the beach Ava tries to finish the deal but Lenny won't exchange any money until he searches for the wire. Worried, Jack tells Derek they need to pull Ava out but Derek convinces him to let Ava do her thing. Back on the beach, Ava plays up to Lenny, calms him down and he pulls out the drugs! Before they can complete the transaction JR and Amanda interrupt them. JR realizes he knows Lenny from the old days and Amanda wonders what Ava is doing there. Ava tries to get them to leave but JR and Amanda won't go. Listening, Jack tells Derek they need to intervene. Back on the beach JR outs Ava as the one who set up Sean with a drug bust. Lenny gets worried. Amanda tries to pull JR away, realizing that they've obviously interrupted something but JR won't leave. Lenny grabs Ava as Derek orders the cops to move in. Lenny finds the wire as Derek and the cops round a corner. JR and Amanda move away, Lenny hauls Ava behind some driftwood as Derek tries to get him to make a deal. Just then Jonathan walks up! Jack holds him back as JR tries to calm Lenny down. The dealer waves a gun, still holding on to Ava. He backs away, taking Ava to a shack on the beach. Inside, Lenny talks to the cops through the microphone, telling them to call him on Ava's cellphone!
