Week of June 29 - July 3:

There was a good mix of drama and comedy this week on All My Children, but I could do with a little more romance. Let's take a look at the week:

Taylor/Brot/Tad: Just an observation, but it seems as if they really rushed the break up of Taylor and Brot. One minute they're engaged, and five seconds later she's headed out to dinner with Tad Martin. It seems the writers really are pushing this match up - and while I think it has potential, I really wish there had been a more realistic breakdown in the relationship of Taylor and Brot.

David/Krystal: What was she doing kissing him at the gravesite? Krystal is pretty honest about the fact that he sucks her in, I guess, but I'm still glad Marissa called her on it - as it was sort of hypocritical. Also, why would she bring David to the Martin house with her - ever? I found that very strange - even if he was just dropping her off - why would he come in? Yeesh.

Marissa/JR/Babe: I'm still having trouble with Marissa as a character, so it's hard to get interested in her as a love interest for JR - but they may grow on me, you never know. The scene beside the grave with Babe appearing to JR was good, but I remember Alexa Havins as Babe. What did you AMC regulars think of it?

Adam/JR/Scott:
Although I felt Scott's anger at Adam and JR was justified - he felt they were letting Stuart down with their decision about Chandler - having him run out of the company and go sulk at the Yacht Club made him seem like a bit of a doofus - anyone else?

The Baby Scheme: Well, I'm loving seeing the softer side of Liza as we see her behaving maternally - it's good when they develop all sides of a character - especially when it's a recast. Tad was hilarious dealing with the baby, the cop, and just acting generally fed up with it all! I have to say I was on the edge of my seat when things kept going wrong as Jake tried to 'deliver' Liza's baby - pretty good stuff! As for getting away with it - no way! It will be interesting to see what twists this story will take before the truth is completely known to all parties - did anyone think it was odd that Amanda didn't recognize Liza's baby? Note: I hope something happens soon, because Amanda's 24/7 whining at Jake - as understandable as it is - is really getting to me!

Trying to Bust Annie: Sitting in a car listening to Annie in the Chandler Mansion? Really? You're telling me this hot guy, Aidan, has nothing better to do than this? Yeesh. Anyway, I'm intrigued by Annie's 'visions' and I have no worries about Adam being duped - he always holds his own. As for whether or not Annie is guilty - too obvious, I say. But she is definitely up to something - and I think everyone that suspects her has viable reasons for doing so up to this point. I love how things progressed this week at the Chandler Mansion, from people being able to walk right in, to people ringing the doorbell, then finally, to Erica setting off the security alarm! Love the end scene with Annie strangling Erica - can't wait until Monday!

Kendall's Case: This week, Zach came out looking far better than Ryan in the quest to save the fair maiden, Kendall. Zach with measured calm and patience dug up dirt on Henry North, while Ryan seemingly went off willy-nilly - rushing to North's office with Tad, and actually hurting Kendall's chances. (Although I don't see how - anything that could help create reasonable doubt that it was Kendall should help her case). Anyway, who knows what Kendall is planning, as she seemed to be making the rounds of everyone in town as if she was going to take off, or do something dramatic - any thoughts?

Randi/North: It's not looking good for North who has become unpopular with many people - even his former love, Randi, is seeing the ruthless side of him now! Interesting that she seemed to be surprised that he wanted to sleep with her on Thursday's episode - what did she think he wanted to meet out of town for? Did she think he was going to drop his agendas against Kendall and Jesse just for her walking through the door of the hotel room? Should be interesting to see what she'll do next!

Overall, the baby drama, and the murder mystery are still the most compelling things about the show - there are really no hot couples or big romances to enjoy right now - other than Jake and Amanda, who are too caught up in the baby stuff to be happy. I'm looking for Liza to get back on her feet. I'm also wondering if David is still suspicious about the baby's death at all - he really seemed to think that Amanda was going to confess something at the memorial service…hmm…

Tell me your thoughts on the week in the comments section below! Beginning next week, watch for the AMC Rant to be posted on Monday rather than Friday afternoons! Have a great holiday weekend!
