All My Children's Denise Vasi Chats with Soaps.com! Monday, November 03 2008

Since arriving on the Pine Valley scene last summer, soap newcomer Denise Vasi (Randi) has made a huge impression! As a 'hooker with a heart of gold', her arrival – and budding romance with Frankie – haven't always been seen as the best idea by fans. But, her charm has won over many fans.

Recently, Soaps.com had the chance to catch up with Denise to find out what she has to say about the character and her co-stars. Read on for our Q&A!

Soaps.com: "The big tornado scenes have just ended, what was it like to shoot those scenes?"

Denise: "Shooting them was really exciting. I got to do a lot of my own stunts, like when I was flying off the bar. We worked for about two to three weeks on blue screen, and I’ve had experience working [with green screen; a similar production technique] so it wasn't too difficult. I don’t think any of us had a problem because we knew what was coming."

Soaps.com: "Randi hasn't been seen fondly by many - including Angie - in Pine Valley. Do you feel she's been misjudged?"

Denise: That's a tough one! Of course I believe she's had it hard, especially with Angie, but Angie is Frankie's mom. What mom wouldn’t have that reaction? I don't blame Angie, Denise doesn’t blame Angie!"

Soaps.com: "And what about Frankie? Is he the guy for Randi?"

Denise: "Well, I'm a hopeless romantic. I think he's definitely the guy for her. Frankie has revealed why he likes her and what he is seeing in her. She's lost and he's trying to help her."

Soaps.com: "Where would you like the character of Randi to go in the months ahead?"

Denise: "I'd like to see her history explored more, that is something the fans want to know about. Something that explains why she is who she is. Beyond that, I'd like to explore the relationship with Carmen."

Soaps.com: "Is there a cast member that you haven't worked with that you look forward
to working with the most?"

Denise: "I haven't directly worked with David Canary. I mean, come on, he's the king of the show! He's great and watching him is quite interesting. I think we all learn from each other every day. I'm really just absorbing everything – from ways to prepare to ways to run lines."

Soaps.com: "On-screen, the bond between Frankie and Randi is very deep. Does that bond continue to your off-screen friendship with Cornelius Smith, JR (Frankie Hubbard)?"

Denise: "Yeah, 100%. Cornelius took me under his wing from the moment I arrived and he's my best friend there. We run lines and do things after work."

Fans, Denise mentioned that, although she is only taping All My Children right now, she does have a few more gigs coming up. She will appear in the romantic comedies "When in Rome" with Josh Duhamel (ex-Leo DuPres) and "The Good Guy" with Alexis Bledel (ex-Rory Gilmore, "Gilmore Girls").

Sounds like Denise is going to be very busy – and we're lucky to have her in Pine Valley!
