Kris Eivers plays Fletcher the Pimp (Soaps.com)
It wouldn't be possible to make our favorite daytime soaps without a few not-so-familiar faces showing up. From nurses to maids to friends of friends, soap operas need a lot of extra people around to make those stories work. Soaps.com did a little research and learned who some of these familiar faces are. Read on to get acquainted with these Pine Valley newcomers!

In early July, Brian Avers began playing Billy. If you think he looks familiar, that is probably because he has also made guest appearances on shows such as "Law & Order"; he also has two upcoming films, "Julie & Julia" and "Castle".

Berto Colon also made several appearances in June. He played Dean. This is Berto's second walk-on role on a soap; in December, 2007, he played the second Santa during a robbery on As The World Turns">.

Finally in June, we were introduced to Sue, played by Selenis Leyva. Sue is one of the guards at the prison where Erica is serving her sentence.

You may recognize the actress, Selenis, because she has made several appearances on "Law & Order"; she played Detective Rivera. She has also appeared in the nighttime drama "New Amsterdam" and will appear in the film "Don't Let Me Drown" next year.

Perhaps the most familiar of the new faces is Kris Elvers, who plays Randi's pimp Fletcher. Fletcher has made several appearances on the show, including an episode when he roughed up Randi and a long scene with Jesse at the bar. He was last seen when two rookie cops arrested him, but this probably won't be his last appearance. Both Angie and Frankie have advised Randi to tell the cops everything about Fletcher so that he can't hurt any more women. Could this become a longer gig, including a trial? It is very possible!

Lucy Danziger, an editor with "Self" magazine also made a cameo appearance in Pine Valley when she visited Fusion for an interview with Kendall and Greenlee. Though Greenlee was missing in action, Lucy was able to interview Kendall for the magazine piece.

Finally, we were introduced to Pine Valley's Mayor when he officially made Jesse Chief of Police earlier this week. The mayor is played by Rufus Collins. With Jesse taking over for Derek Frye, will we see more of the mayor? Will Pine Valley's finest finally have a few really good storylines? We sure hope so!

There you have it fans, you are up to date with a few of Pine Valley's day players. If you see a familiar face but aren't quite sure who that actor is, Contact Us. We'll investigate and tell you a little bit about the actor!
