Chrishell Stause (ABC.com)
Since blasting on to the
All My Children in 2005 fans have flocked to Chrishell Stause, and it looks like there is an even hotter future in for the soap star. She recently finished work on a movie and is set to being shooting another film later this year!
The movie Chrishell just wrapped is called "Scaring the Fish" and is currently in post-production (that's movie talk for editing). Chrishell says the project, which was originally a play and was adapted to the big-screen, literally fell into her lap!
Kristi: "What can you tell us about the project?"
Chrishell: "It's a really cool project. Anthony Rapp stars and it's a real psychological thriller. It's set during a fishing trip and as innocent as that seems you see all hell break loose! You get to really get into the mind of the characters. I play the wife of one of the guys who has died, so you see me through flashbacks. My part isn't big but I made some great contacts, and now I've got the main role in another movie!"
Kristi: "Wait! You have another project in the works, too?"

Chrishell: (Laughs) ". . .Shooting hasn't begun yet, so I can't say a lot, but I can tell you it's called "Sometimes".
(I can tell you, though, that Chrishell has the lead in this movie, so we'll be seeing all of her acting skills in the flick!)
Kristi: "Let's talk a little about AMC. Who is the funniest co-worker on the set and what do they do that perks everyone up?"
Chrishell: "There are so many goofballs, let me tell you! Everybody knows that Michael Knight (Tad) is a nut. He can take a scene and just flip it. I love working with him! Another one is Cameron (Mathison, Ryan). He's always fun and nothing that comes out of his mouth is serious! In hair and makeup they are my favorite."
One thing many fans don't know is that Chrishell began acting in theater productions and moved to television once she moved to New York. She says the stage-to-screen transfer was really tough at first.
Kristi: "Do you feel like you're in a good place now?"
Chrishell: "Absolutely! I feel like I've grown so much since coming on the show and I'm so grateful for that. A lot of the work I had done was theater, so a lot of the things I learned weren't the way you should work on television. . .it took a while. I feel like this job has given me a great opportunity and I'm so grateful. Kate (Collins, Janet) was a huge part of my growth. She was such a help. I felt like I really broke through with her."
Kristi: "The big Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids event is coming up in a few weeks, will you participate? What will you do?"
Chrishell: "Yes and I can't wait. I'm so excited! Our number (last year) was so exciting and fun. We're going to do something similar. It will be a group number with some of the other girls and it will be very sassy! That's all I can say! It's going to be hard to top last year but we're going to try."
Kristi: "To all those actors just getting into the business, do you have any advice for them?"
Chrishell: "There is no clear cut formula. I would just say 'go for it' and do whatever it takes. You are going to come across a lot of rejection and you have to take it. It's not personal, it's a business and to them you're a number."
I'd like to thank Chrishell for taking time out of her busy schedule to chat with us here at Soaps.com. There is a lot more to come next week when we get into the character of Amanda and the storylines coming up in her future. Check back here next week for part two of the interview!
