The Power Of The Fist Bump!

Back at their table, Cassandra tells Colby and Dre about Jesse's new job. Dre says Jesse's job is nothing; he has to deal with Samuel working over Erica every chance he gets. Colby believes she has them both trumped because she is going to be stuck between JR and Adam for a long time. They all want a getaway and Colby has the perfect solution - she invites them to spend the Fourth of July with her at the lodge. The kids agree.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!

At the Chandler manse, Barry stops by to tell Adam that JR planted the story of his breakdown in the papers. Adam is stunned. JR and Colby walk in and Adam covers their meeting, saying they were brainstorming a new idea. JR reminds both men that he is in charge now. Adam turns to Colby to begin planning her birthday party. She angrily asks how he can plan a party when he's been keeping the truth about Kathy secret for months. She and JR talk about Kathy and then JR leaves to see his new sister. Colby returns to Adam and Barry, who are discussing her shares of Chandler Enterprises. Barry leaves. Colby says she doesn't want to stay at the mansion because then she'll turn into him! Adam angrily says he loves her and is just trying to give her a good life. "Between you and mom, I don't stand a chance," she says. She tells Adam she wants him to be honest with her; he says she should go to Tad if she wants a warm-and-fuzzy dad. Colby says he hasn't lost her - yet! - but if he doesn't change, he will.

Blackmail!

Krystal is waiting at home with Jenny when Colby brings Kathy home. Aidan arrives. Tad stays outside with Aidan and then offers his half of the PI business to him! He is shocked and automatically turns the offer down. Tad convinces him that he just isn’t interested in the business and Aidan accepts. Tad says he’ll always be around to help and then returns inside. He kisses Krystal and Jenny and then Kathy runs into his arms. Colby takes Kathy back upstairs as Tad tells Krystal about Aidan’s new job. Greenlee calls to tell Aidan about Richie’s arrest. He tells Tad and then leaves. Krystal is surprised when Tad doesn’t follow him. She says they should have talked about his decision first; Tad says he didn’t ask her because he was certain of his decision. Krystal wonders if Tad knows how special he is to her. He kisses her. Colby and Kathy return with a cake. After they eat, Tad takes Kathy upstairs to unpack.

Adam's Softer Side...

At the hospital, Colby drops off Kathy so Tad can talk to her. He hesitates, wondering how to tell her Julia is gone. He finally reminds her of what Julia told her about heaven and says she has gone there, too. He promises she isn't alone and that he'll always be there for her. Krystal takes Tad's hand and says they would like to take care of her. Kathy isn't sure what to think and runs from the room hollering, "No, no no!"

Colby returns to the mansion and confronts Adam. She calls him mean and horrible. Adam walks out.

Desperate Times...

In the hall, Adam asks Krystal if he can do anything. She says he can't and walks off. Dixie appears and tells Adam he could tell them all about Kathy/Kate. Krystal returns to Babe and JR, telling them she just spoke with Maria about Julia and Kathy. Frankie comes by but doesn't have any news about Tad yet. Krystal and Babe walk away. Adam sits with JR, who believes Adam is only there to gloat once Tad dies. Adam swears he doesn't want Tad to die. JR tells Adam to leave because no one wants him there and then he walks off. Dixie returns to sit with Adam, who begins dreaming that Colby was one of the victims of the wedding shootings! He asks Dixie if this is what she meant when she said his family would pay.

The Waiting Game Begins...

At the Chandler manse, Adam remembers what Dixie has been telling him about Kate. Just then JR calls and tells Colby about Julia's death and Tad's injury. Kathy, who has been sleeping on the sofa, wakes and asks for Julia. Adam distracts her with the promise of cookies and sends her off to the kitchen.

Tad Survives - For Now!

Adam takes Colby and Kathy back to the mansion. Kathy asks again and again for Julia; Colby goes to get some toys to distract her, leaving the kiddo alone with Adam. Adam finds another of her adoption certificates on his table and hides it. Colby returns with toys but Kathy only wants Julia. Adam distracts her with a drawing of a cat.

Shots Fired! Julia's Down!

The party is winding down and Jake announces to Julia that he's going to leave, but as he starts to make his way to the door, Dixie knocks a chair over in his path. She whispers to him again, saying he can't go, he needs to be there to help Tad. Jake backtracks and tells Julia that for some strange reason he feels like he should stick around. Kathy stops by and says she needs a trip to the ladies' room, and Colby offers to take her. But when Colby and Kathy try to leave the restroom, the door won't open. Dixie's on the other side, holding it closed.

Downstairs, the elevator opens and Angie and Rob step out, spotting Aidan. Angie screams for Aidan's help and Aidan pulls his gun, but Rob bullies him into putting it away. He drags Angie into the reception, and the crowd shrinks back when they see the gun. To make matters worse, Aidan bursts in behind them with his gun drawn. There's a brief pause of a standoff, during which Dixie begs Tad to leave. Tad doesn't hear her, of course, and slowly Rob points the gun and shoots. Julia slumps over. There are screams as everyone rushes to help Julia. Rob pulls the trigger again and Greg is hit in the arm. Satisfied, Rob drags Angie out of the reception. Things aren't looking good for Julia, who's slipping away despite attempts to help her. The ambulance comes to take her away. Colby and Adam try to console Kathy, who's worried about "Aunt Julia."
