The Sick Truth!

Angie comes out of the lab and announces to Amanda, Jake, JR, and Marissa that the results show it is impossible for David to be Trevor's father! Jake and Amanda are pleased! Jake turns to JR and says it's down to the two of them.

You're Bad, But You're Good!

Amanda and Jake are playing with Trevor at home. Jake puts him down for a nap. Amanda frets about the 85% chance that Trevor will turn out to have David's disease. Jake says 'the big guy' gave her Trevor, and He will keep him safe as well.

Jake, Marissa, Krystal, and Amanda gather at the hospital to read the results from the lab. Jake opens them and marvels that none of them have the marker for the blood disorder. They are all relieved, but Jake says something isn't right - it's almost impossible that none of them would have inherited it. Jake feels it means David is lying! Marissa is in disbelief, but Angie backs him up. Marissa says there could be another reason - she then asks if Amanda is sure that David is Trevor's father? They discuss doing DNA testing for paternity. Marissa learns that JR could be the father - she says she'll speak to him about giving a sample. Jake tells Angie he'll get David's DNA from his locker!

Jake and Amanda are in the waiting area with Trevor. Jake muses that David's hair has been sent to the lab. Amanda wonders what if Jake's connection to the child is more than what they think - what if he is Trevor's father?!

Double Dipping?

At the hospital, Angie and Jake explain to Amanda that Trevor would only have to be swabbed for DNA to find out if he has David's blood disorder. Amanda considers this, then asks, "What if I don't want to know anymore?" She says ignorance is bliss, but Jake argues that they can't have that hanging over them. Amanda is scared.

Amanda and Jake return to the Martin house to get Trevor. When Amanda goes upstairs to get him, Jake fills Tad and Krystal in on the latest, adding that he hopes David is faking his illness, otherwise Trevor could be sick too. Marissa comes in with Little Adam, and Krystal tells her to sit down - there's something she needs to know! Marissa is stunned by the news that David's disorder is hereditary. Tad takes Jake aside and they discuss the implications if David's not lying. Marissa talks to Krystal about Little A's worry that JR could die - he can't lose her too! Krystal tries to reassure her, but Amanda comes into the room with Trevor and insinuates that it's unlikely both of David's children would be in the clear!

Jake and Amanda get home from the hospital. Amanda is in a tailspin over her son possibly having the genetic marker. Jake assures her that Marissa is showing no signs of anything, so even if Trevor had it there would be time to find a cure. Amanda does not feel better - she thinks this is karma for faking Trevor's death. Jake promises to devote his life to finding a cure if Trevor's sick.

Keeping Secrets!

Jake and Amanda wake up together at home and laugh about their ears still ringing from the tuba serenade. She says she's happy, but Jake asks why, then, was she up pacing half the night - her mind is obviously on David. Amanda denies thinking about David, saying she was worried Trevor might come down with something. Jake notes that the baby is fine, and tells her to wake him up the next time - he's a doctor and used to little sleep. He tells her that being married to a doctor means he always has the right medicine! They get dressed and Amanda starts talking to Trevor about David - she calls him. Jake comes into the room and realizes what she's doing. She hangs up, and he confronts her about calling David as soon as he's out of earshot - he knows it was David who called last night too - and she lied to him about it! Amanda admits it, but feels she can't be honest about her compassion for David - she asks Jake to please let this go. Jake sees her pulling David into their home. Amanda points out that she pities David - that's nothing compared to their love. She says one day Trevor will ask about his father - and she will be able to hold her head up and say she was nice to him, and didn't let him die alone! Jake kisses her. Jake leaves, and Amanda goes to the laptop to look up David's disease. She panics at something she reads and calls the hospital to say she's on her way over to see Angie!

At the hospital in Pine Valley, Frankie tells Angie that Randi suggested a job at Fusion for Madison. Angie is skeptical about Madison jumping into such a stressful workplace. Considering this, Frankie decides to go back over to Fusion. Jake comes out of surgery and Amanda strides up to him, asking how he could have kept such important information from her - David's condition is something that Trevor could have too! Angie gets in on the situation and tells Amanda she's right - it's hereditary. She suggests a DNA test.

Crank Up the Romance!

Jake and Amanda sit down at ConFusion. He hands her a document, which he tells her to read and then destroy! Amanda opens the paper and says, "You wrote me a love poem?" Jake grimaces as she reads the first line aloud. They agree that they hate what's been happening to them, and don't want to fight anymore. Jake's plan to crank it up in the romance department continues - they're serenaded by a tuba player! They have a champagne toast, and Amanda brings up David, but quickly apologizes. Jake has more surprises in store - he asks how limber she is?
