His Best Hope!

In the turret room, Gayle looks at her phone - a call is coming in from David. She ignores it. Gayle hides before Greenlee comes into the room, followed by Jake. Greenlee tells Jake that as her friend, he should respect that, right now, David is what's best for her. She then leaves. Gayle comes out and tells Jake that Greenlee doesn't deserve David! Jake assures her that things will go her way if she just agrees to work with them. Gayle says he's already convinced her - she heard him talking lovingly to his wife on the phone and that helped make up her mind - she notes she'll never get that from David.

Erica and Ryan go to the castle, where Jake tells them that Gayle is ready to roll over on David. He brings Gayle out, and Erica assures her they're going to make David pay. Jake takes Ryan aside and tells him that Greenlee was there earlier - he thinks it is sinking in that she's married the wrong person. Ryan says he'll wait until she comes to him. Jake takes off, and Erica notices Ryan's detachment. She asks if he's thinking about Greenlee. He muses that he's trying to give her the space she needs. Gayle is worried about coming forward, and Ryan assures her that he knows just the person to help protect her if she tells all.

Amanda and Jake meet up at home, where Jake lies to his wife about his whereabouts earlier in the evening. When Amanda presses to know who he was with, he jokes that he was holed up with a beautiful woman. Amanda belts him with a teddy bear, and they start joking around, and then kissing.

Heaven on Earth!

At ConFusion, Ryan tells Jake he's beyond working cons on people, but Jake cajoles, saying he could do one more on David, considering how he's taken over where Greenlee is concerned! Jake keeps working on Ryan, saying Greenlee needs to be saved, and listing his other grievances against David. Ryan doesn't want to stoop to David's level, but then says it's impossible not to - they'll bring him down! Natalia comes over and tells Jake and Ryan she came back to interview witnesses - the con she arrested is ratting out everyone. Ryan tells Jake they don't need to run a con on David - they just need someone to rat him out - like Nurse Gayle! Jake tells Natalia about David trying to blackmail Angie into resigning - she says she wants to help them, and asks what they need. Jake asks her to find Gayle.

Jake and Ryan are still at ConFusion when Jake's phone rings - it's Amanda. Jake tells Ryan he's not answering it, he'll call his little honeybee later.

At the bus station, Jake and Ryan arrive to meet Gayle, who they texted anonymously. She sighs when she sees Jake, but they work to convince her that they will help her, if she helps them get David. Gayle sighs that she wanted to be with David, but he married Greenlee.

Jake takes Gayle to the turret room for safe-keeping. She tells Jake how nice Erica was to her. Jake says they'll help her if she works with them - she points out that she hasn't agreed to that yet. Jake says he'll go get her some food, and warns her not to open the door to anyone. Outside the door, Jake is surprised to encounter Greenlee! He tries to get her out of there, but she wants to go into the turret room!

Over My Dead Body!

Jake is at Ryan's house where they have an argument about Ryan backing off from Greenlee and letting her go to David. Ryan tries to explain, but Jake is less-than-thrilled, and thinks he should fight for her!

Ryan goes to ConFusion and Jake follows him there. Ryan rolls his eyes and says he's done talking to him about this. Jake claims he's just trying to save his liver. At the bar, Natalia chats up a man. Brot comes in and tries to run interference, but Natalia lashes out at him. Seeing the scene, Ryan walks over and asks Natalia to let him buy her a drink. When the man with her argues, Ryan punches him! Telling Jake he can spot a con a mile away because he used to be one, Ryan helps Natalia bust the guy. Natalia whips out her badge and makes the arrest. She later tells Ryan that if it weren't for him, she would be filing a report on her stolen credit cards! Back at their table, Jake asks Ryan if David were his target, if he'd consider getting back into his old racket.

Sweet Dreams!

Jake is with Greenlee in the turret room. Ryan listens as she tells Jake that Ryan will keep pushing her, and she'll keep fighting back - what if she's not up to it? Jake tells her her stress is self-induced - look at wedding debacle she planned! He wonders if she's strong enough to handle David, why she's so helpless when it comes to Ryan? Jake gives her a bit of advice, then goes outside the door where Ryan is standing. He tells Jake it was a mistake to have brought Greenlee there - he's only made things worse! Ryan goes in with food for Greenlee, and tells her he finally gets it - he can't tell her what to feel or do. Ryan claims he's going to get out of her way so she can focus on getting better. They smile together over some shared memories, but she says they can't do this until everything is figured out. Ryan says they won't reminisce then, but they are doing this - he pulls out a cupcake and sticks a candle in it, saying, "It's your birthday!" She blows out the candle, and he suggests she get some rest. He tells her a bedtime story, and she falls asleep.
