Jake stops David in the hospital and tells him that Amanda hasn't returned his calls. David says she's just resting in case she's pregnant. Jake wonders how she could be pregnant when the doctor told him she didn't perform the insemination. David admits that he informed the doctor her services were no longer needed. Jake demands to know why. David says Dr. Hines didn't have a great track record. Jake is skeptical that David suddenly switched doctors, and is upset that he wasn't told. David says his paranoia is getting tiresome. Just then, Amanda appears. Jake takes her aside and she apologizes for not calling him back - she needed to sort things out. Jake says she can tell him anything - why did she hide that they blew off the fertility doctor? Amanda asks what the big deal is about switching doctors? Jake says it's the way they're both acting - and he's terrified of what the reason might be. He asks, "There was an insemination, right?" Amanda says of course, but Jake insists something is wrong. Amanda blurts, "I did what I needed to do!" Jake asks what that means. Amanda says he's making this harder for her and stalks off!
Amanda searches out David in the hospital and rants about Jake questioning her and what a mess it all is. David reaches out to comfort her, and she tells him not to touch her ever again! Jake appears and decks David!
The Bloodhound Gang!
In a bubble bath at Wildwind, Amanda flashes back to having sex with David in the car. She gets a text from Jake saying he's on his way over. She sobs, and gets out to go downstairs. When Jake arrives, she tells him she would like some time alone - she's just trying to put this whole thing behind her. Jake moves toward her, but she asks him not to touch her. Jake is puzzled. She admits that she's acting like she was raped, saying David used her body to fill with a baby. She assures him that he and Trevor are the light at the end of the tunnel. Jake still can't understand why he can't hug her - he asks if there's something she's not telling him.
David comes home to find Amanda crying to Jake. Jake lashes out, saying what David forcing her to conceive a baby has affected her. David says it was all mutual, but maybe he has gone too far with all of his rules. He says if the pregnancy is going to take hold, Amanda should relax and be happy - he tells Amanda to go to Jake's house for a few days. Jake is ready to pack her up, but Amanda says she can't go! She explains that she can't bounce back and forth. Jake tightly says he'll stand by her, but it seems funny that he has to do that by leaving. Once Jake leaves, Amanda smacks David across the face! David is shocked, and they argue. Amanda lets him know that she feels dirty. He says he never wanted that, but she says not only can she not live with Jake - she has to figure out how to live with herself!
Jake talks to the doctor at the hospital who was supposed to have performed the procedure on Amanda at the clinic. He asks if something went wrong - did Amanda and David have a fight? The doctor says she can't answer his questions - because she wasn't there!
Help Me!
Annie hollers for a nurse from her hospital bed. Jake comes in and tells her there are other patients in the hospital. Annie doesn't want him for a doctor, and David appears, telling her to take it easy! Scott shows up and tells her that Ryan is at the house all upset. Annie smirks and says he'll have no chance against Adam's lawyers. Scott thinks it was a bad move for her to provoke Ryan.
Jake and David argue in the hospital corridor. They argue about Amanda, and Jake tells him he's only a part of a procedure in the clinic. David thinks back to the sex in the car, but keeps the secret. Jake says Amanda will be done with him forever once this baby comes - and he'll have no more control over him either. David insults Jake, who reiterates that Amanda is only doing this to get back with him. He tells David to go ahead and be cocky, but know that he has no power over him. David mocks him by clapping.
Ryan shows up at the hospital. He asks Jake to help him prove that Annie was surprised about the pregnancy, and that it may not be Adam's child. Jake talks to him about some risky procedures to determine paternity. Ryan wants him to call Annie back in there, but Jake says he's not her doctor, and David won't do it unless there's something in it for him! Ryan heads to David's office and finds it open. He sees Greenlee's medical records up on the computer screen! David walks in and asks what he's doing! Ryan asks why he has been looking at Greelee's records?!
Seed of Doubt!
In the hospital waiting area, Adam is overjoyed to hear that Annie didn't miscarry - he and Scott rush in to see her. Jake tells Ryan, Erica, and Zach that Annie was surprised to hear she was pregnant - but she is. Erica wails that Kendall will never be able to come home, but Zach wonders what if the child isn't Adam's? He talks about why Scott stays in the house - he knows something is going on between them. Erica has sensed it too. Zach mentions the video footage of Scott and Annie, and Annie and JR 'making out'. Erica says JR is hitting the bottle half the time, but Scott is a different matter! Ryan says they have to create doubt in Adam that the baby is really his.
In the stranded car, Amanda tells David not to talk or to look at her while they're having sex. She gets into the backseat. David follows. After, David says, "That wasn't so bad was it?" Amanda asks if he's crazy, and says she feels sick. David reminds her they only had sex so she could get her life back as quickly as possible. Amanda says she did it for that reason - he's just a sick bastard! David's phone rings - it's Jake. David hands it to Amanda, who tells Jake she forgot her own phone this morning. Jake says he called the clinic, but they wouldn't tell him anything. Amanda merely says it's over and they're on their way back. Jake tells her he loves her. She hangs up. David says she handled that perfectly. Amanda cries, and David reminds her how she feels about Trevor - it will be the same with the new one they just made!
