Real Name: Cornelius Smith, JR |
Frankie goes home; Jesse is there and he tells Jesse about the payoff demands. Jesse can't believe it. Frankie says he has gotten used to taking care of his own problems. Jesse takes charge and says they'll have Fletcher arrested and put Randi in protective custody. Frankie says this could ruin Randi's new outlook and Jesse promises to keep things quiet. He leaves.
At BJ's, Frankie dodges Randi's questions about her friend. Jesse walks in and Frankie says this is a great opportunity. Randi doesn't want to talk to Jesse about her new start but Frankie insists. When he sits down, Frankie tells him what great strides Randi is making; Jesse says this is a great opportunity to get to know the real Randi and offers to buy them dinner. As they eat, they talk about Randi's job. Jesse is very interested when she says Annie just quit. He leaves a little while later. Randi asks Frankie what this dinner meeting was really about. He says he was just trying to help. She brings up Fusion and her insecurities about the job because of Kendall and the modeling ideas. He says she'll be fine.
At the hospital, Frankie considers stealing the drugs for Fletcher but then turns away from the locker.
Frankie goes to Fletcher's and tells him to stay away from Randi. "Tick tock, Doc," Fletcher says. He tells Fletcher to leave Randi alone or he'll send Jesse over! Fletcher threatens Frankie's whole family and Frankie goes on the attack! Fletcher calls his bluff and Frankie backs off but warns Fletcher to stay away from Randi. Fletcher says that since Frankie is having a cash flow problem he can pay Randi's bill in drugs from the hospital! Frankie refuses at first but Fletcher tells him to ask Randi about a girl named Sherri - and get him the drugs!
Randi and Frankie meet at BJ's. He asks her about Sherri; she says Sherri was her best friend, who Fletcher killed and the cops couldn't prove anything. She asks how he knows about Sherri.
Randi places an order for bagels at BJ's just as Frankie walks in. She tries to blow him off but he insists on knowing why she is being so cold. She checks out and doesn't say anything. He pushes and she finally says she'll pay him back for helping her get out from under Fletcher's thumb because she was right about him all along! Frankie tries to get to the truth and Randi tells him to go save his little blond girl. He realizes she saw him hug Taylor at the apartment. She tries to walk away but Frankie grabs her and sets her straight about his friendship with Taylor. He tells her about their time in Iraq and how things were when he returned home. Randi realizes she was wrong and apologizes. She asks to meet Taylor and he agrees. She is about to leave when Fletcher calls to tell Frankie he is almost out of time! Randi sees how tense he is and asks what is wrong. He doesn't tell her.
At the Hubbard apartment, Taylor tells Jesse and Angie about her family's military history and says she was very impressed with Frankie in Iraq. She mentions that she is going back for another tour, which angers Frankie. She says she is needed there. Then, she goes to her bag and takes out a Silver Star, which Frankie received for his service there. He is annoyed that Taylor brought it and says it doesn't mean anything. Taylor, Angie and Jesse think differently. They ask what happened but Frankie doesn't want her to tell the story. Taylor tells them that during a suicide bombing and attack, Frankie saved 14 soldiers by dragging them away from the battleground. "But I didn't save everyone," Frankie says. Jesse and Angie give them some space. Frankie asks how long Taylor is going to be around and she says until her new orders come in. He says she'll never survive Iraq until she realizes the war cannot be won! Frankie looks at Taylor's foot, which has been giving her problems for months. He says she has to get her injury fixed or she'll never make it through a tour. He offers to take care of her treatment himself. She says no. Frankie walks her to the door, worried about her. She swears she is fine; he hugs her. Randi walks up and sees them together. She turns around and leaves.
At BJ's, Frankie and Cassandra have milkshakes. They talk about the hit and run and Dre; Frankie says Cassandra is in a good place thanks to Jesse. "Oh, please," she says, certain that Jesse doesn't care about her at all. Frankie says she knows better than that so she starts to leave. He changes the subject and she asks about Randi; he admits he likes her but says he doesn't know where things are going.
At home, Jesse is giving an officer orders to look for the lug wrench along the highway when Angie arrives home. She asks when things are going to get back to normal, with Frankie as well as Cass. Jesse says Frankie can handle himself and he'll protect Cass. He says all of the kids may get off because the hit-and-run may have happened after Richie was already dead. Cassandra and Frankie arrive. Jesse tries to make nice with her but she takes everything he says the wrong way and storms out. A woman in an Army uniform knocks on the door and asks for Frankie - it's Taylor! Frankie hugs her and they laugh, making Jesse and Angie curious.
Frankie runs into Jake at BJ's and vents to him about Fletcher and Randi. Jake thinks Frankie should tell Randi everything but he thinks, because of the job possibilities at Fusion, that he shouldn't because it might undermine her confidence. He can't imagine why she is so under Fletcher's spell and says he even offered to set her up in Miami. Jake says that was a huge mistake. Frankie refuses to tell Randi and doesn't want to tell Jesse, either. Jake says he has to figure out why Fletcher has a hold on her and from there he can help her recover. Slightly annoyed at all of Jake's advice, Frankie asks how he got to be such an expert. Jake brings up Emily Ann and says Randi is in a dark world. Frankie isn't sure how to protect her without making her depend on him the same way she depends on Fletcher. "Be her constant," Jake advises. He decides giving Randi space is his only option. Randi arrives as Jake leaves. She tells Frankie that she will dream of him, kisses him and walks out.
