Damon and Angie are talking at the hospital and he asks her to get off his case about the pills she found in his pocket. He makes the name connection and suddenly realizes that she’s married to the Chief of Police. As they part, Angie calls Frankie and leaves him a voice message to call her as soon as he can.
Tad sees Angie, tells her about Damon and asks for her help.
Frankie tells his mom that he’s not using the pills anymore. He says he wasn’t thinking when he threw them away and will dispose of them properly. She says she’s proud of him. Damon overhears them from a nearby corner.
Angie and Jessie speak in the hallway at the hospital, and Randi comes in to see Frankie. She asks if he's taking his pain pills - he says he can't take them before a procedure. She heads back to Fusion, and Frankie looks at his hand. Down the way, Angie tells Jesse that Frankie is on the chopping block due to budget cuts - she has to have him on the list or she'll be accused of favoritism. Jesse tells her she's a healer, and urges her not to let the other stuff get in the way of that. He says that Frankie can look after himself. Angie goes to find Frankie, and asks if he's nervous about the surgery. Frankie doesn't say much, and Angie asks him why he's distant. They discuss how she took the heat for his mistake before - he reiterates that it was him who messed up. Angie asks how his hand is, and Frankie shouts that she can stop worrying - he won't embarrass her in the operating room. Angie is called away, but returns quickly. Frankie says he's tired of being something she has to worry about. Angie tells him that's tough. She walks off and Frankie puts some pills into his hand - he stops himself from taking them, though, putting them in his pocket. When he comes out of the surgery, Angie is there to tell him he did great! Frankie beams. When Angie walks off, Frankie's expression changes, and he tosses his pills in the garbage.
Tad arrives at the hospital where he seeks out Damon and apologizes for being so tough on him earlier. They get to talking, and Damon says he can't believe Tad knew his mom - she never said anything about him or Pine Valley. Tad recalls how wonderful Hillary was. Damon thinks he's let his mom down. Tad muses that no one was a bigger screw-up than him. They discuss Tad's background and Tad tells him about Joe being the man he considers his father - the other one beat him up for sport. Damon goes back to his mopping as Tad says he'll see him at home. Tad turns back to watch him. As Tad goes to get the DNA results, Angie notices Damon pocket a bottle of pills out of the trash. Damon claims he was going to turn them in, but Angie asks for the truth!
At the hospital, Angie tells Annie that she can go home, and asks how she feels. Annie says she's humbled - JR is alive and owes it all to her!
Brooke and Angie chat in the corridor. Brooke says Annie thinks she came back to seduce Adam! Brooke remarks on what a difficult year it's been for him. Angie suggests that Brooke make sure Adam takes care of himself, even if Annie is threatened by it. Brooke walks back over to Adam and Annie and says they should go home together - JR will still be there after Adam's had some rest. Angie goes into JR's room, where he asks about his donor. Angie says they wanted to remain anonymous. He looks through the window and sees Annie. Angie tells him he'll have to respect the donor's wishes. Marissa sits down with JR when Angie leaves. He tells her she helped save him - all of them did - his family is the only thing that matters! JR dozes off and Dixie appears once more to sing, "You Are My Sunshine."
Adam shouts as JR struggles in the hospital bed. In his mind, JR tells Dixie that he wants to stay with her. She says she may not be able to make him go back, but somebody else can! The doctor says they're losing him, and close the blinds so the family cannot see in. Adam glances up the hall and spots Annie lurking. Brooke follows his eye, and offers to go see to her. Angie comes to tell the family that JR may not be strong enough to make it through this - if there is anything they want to say to JR, now is the time. Marissa cries, and Adam lashes at Angie, who tells him to focus on JR.
In the chapel, Tad tells Jesse that lately he's been feeling Dixie - he even thought he heard her singing! Jesse says it makes sense that she'd be on his mind now. Tad feels it's more than that. Angie comes in and advises Tad that he needs to spend time with JR.
Opal brings AJ into the hospital as Adam is down the corridor vowing that he won't say goodbye to JR. Opal decides to take AJ to see Adam. Angie gives Marissa advice - if AJ sees her feeling sad, he will know that it's alright for him to feel sad.
