Greenlee arrives at Fusion; Kendall is there and brings up a magazine interview set for that morning. Greenlee snippily says she knows how to do an interview. She pokes at Kendall about the one night stand. The reporter calls in for their interview and Greenlee takes point, talking up the Fusion brand. The reporter flips the questions and asks how their friendship helped solidify their company. She keeps pushing, trying to find out how each woman would react if the other woman did something behind her back. Kendall cuts off the reporter. They go back to work and Greenlee begins cutting away at Kendall's confidence in Zach. She says they may not have slept together but they shared several very intimate moments in the bomb shelter. She keeps pushing, saying she is now Zach's best friend - not Kendall! "All we had was each other and total truth," she says. Kendall says she already knows everything about Zach and Greenlee just smiles.
Joe and Jake have a drink together at Fusion. Joe admits how worried he was for Tad and how grateful he is that Jake is back. He asks him to come by the house for dinner but Jake turns him down. He says he has to return to Africa as soon as possible. Zach walks up and says he won't be returning to Africa - at least not as a Cambias employee! "If you go back to Africa, you're dead," he says! Zach explains about the rebel leader's death and the bounty now on Jake's head. That doesn't change Jake's mind. Joe angrily tells Jake to listen but Jake won't. Zach takes Jake aside to ask about Caroline but Jake won't talk about her either. In fact, he says his family doesn't need to know anything about Africa - or Caroline! Jake goes back to Joe, apologizes but says he can't stay away from Africa. He finally admits to Joe that he isn't with Caroline any longer. Joe leaves as Greenlee walks in. Jake tries to brush her off but Greens won't take no for an answer and sits down with him.
On the beach, Ryan brings up the past, wondering how to right all the wrongs he has done to his friends and family. He believes the amnesia is karmic payback for deserting his family in the past. Greens says he doesn't deserve what is happening to him. He brings up his recovered memories of Annie but admits that he still isn't in love with Annie the way he is in love with Kendall. He wonders if he ever loved Annie. Greens brings up Aidan's accusations and wonders the same thing about Aidan. Ryan doesn't see the connection until she tells him about the no kid ultimatum. "We always come back to each other," she says and kisses him. Ryan pulls away, saying he isn't the man for her. Greenlee is hurt.
At the Slater's, Annie and Greenlee are outside the circle celebrating Spike's birthday, watching Kendall. Josh takes family pictures and invites Annie over but she stays with Greenlee. She watches as Ryan takes one last "family" photo. Josh notices her worried look and asks how she is doing since Julia's death. Ruth calls to tell him about Tad. Josh decides to stay with Kendall and the boys to give Tad a little space. Greenlee grabs her phone and calls Aidan. She tells him about Tad but Aidan already knows. He asks if he can see her so she leaves the party. Kendall and Zach talk about Tad, which leads to Aidan and the Greenlee mess. Kendall wonders if Greens and Aidan will make it but Zach doesn't know. Ryan, free of Greenlee, focuses on Annie. She blames her distraction on Emma's illness but he knows she is really upset about Julia. Annie tells him how bereft she feels because of Julia's death. Kendall asks Ryan to read Spike a story so he leaves Annie to focus on the kiddo. Annie leaves. Ryan stays with Kendall and Zach for a while, saying it is easier to be with them than to fumble around Annie. Kendall says it gets easier; Ryan keeps wasting time. Finally, Zach playfully tells him to get out. Ryan leaves. Kendall and Zach sit together, worried for their friends - especially Greens.
Greenlee and Aidan meet at the penthouse. Greenlee angrily asks how he felt when he was making love with Kendall; Aidan says he wasn't thinking or feeling anything - not even Kendall! That makes Greens more angry. Frustrated, Aidan accuses Greenlee of destroying their relationship because she likes to be miserable. She is stunned. He goes on, saying she has been trying to sabotage them since they got together - first by turning down his many proposals, then by focusing on Ryan's needs and finally by announcing she didn't want kids. Greenlee grabs her engagement ring and gives it back to him. She walks out, refusing to listen any more. Alone, Aidan packs up his things and leaves.
Ryan goes to the beach. He is sitting alone when Greenlee finds him.
Josh arrives at the Slater's with Spike's cake. He updates them on Tad as Ryan and Annie arrive. Emma is home sick; Kendall realizes Annie isn't doing well either. Ryan and Kendall don't speak and when Ryan goes to get a drink Annie asks what is wrong. Greenlee arrives, makes a catty comment about stealing Zach away and delivers her present. She continues on to Zach and when he asks if she wants anything she says, "You already told me I couldn't have it." She walks off leaving Josh to ask Zach what is going on. Zach clams up. Spike arrives and with everyone focused on the kiddo, Annie asks Greens what she is doing. Greenlee tells her she lost Aidan - because of Kendall! Across the room, Kendall tries to talk to Ryan but he won't talk about Greens. Josh interrupts with Spike. Zach sits with Annie and notices her watching Kendall and Ryan with Spike. Annie brings up Spike's first birthday party and says she feels now like Greenlee did then - like an outsider. Greenlee and Ryan are sitting with Spike. He tells her to stop acting overly happy but she insists she is happy. Annie watches them with Spike. Across the room, Zach, Kendall and Ian are watching, too. Kendall worries what Greens might be plotting. Zach is more concerned with Annie; Kendall thinks Annie is just overwrought because of Julia's death. Annie makes her way to Greens, offering her condolences on the death of their relationship. Greenlee says she's over it. Annie says if she was in the same position she would fight for her man. Kendall brings Spike to the cake and they sing "Happy Birthday". Greenlee stands outside the circle, feeling left out.
At the penthouse, Greenlee tells Alphonso he is lucky he'll never be in love. She falls asleep on the couch. When she wakes, Kendall is there! Kendall insists that they talk about what happened but Greens doesn't even want to look at her. When Kendall pushes it, Greenlee tells her the only thing that will make everything alright is for Kendall to give up Fusion! Kendall can't believe it. Greens says she'll destroy the company if Kendall won't give it up! Kendall calls her bluff, reminding Greenlee of how hard they worked to build the company. Greenlee says they can still work together but that she'll never stop hating Kendall. When Kendall is at the door, Greenlee asks how she could do it. "A part of me feels dead now. And you did that," she says, crying. Kendall leaves.
Kendall walks into the penthouse as Greenlee is trying to convince Zach to sleep with her so that Kendall and Aidan know just how they feel. Greenlee orders her to go but Kendall won't leave. Greens storms out. Kendall tells Zach about going to Ryan's. Seeing that he is upset at the news, Kendall says her going to Ryan's is no different than Zach taking Greenlee home.
At the penthouse, Annie arrives. Ryan fills her in on the shootings. Worried about Julia, Annie leaves. After a while, he leaves and runs into Greenlee. He tells her about the shootings. She hugs him, wondering what else could go wrong. Greenlee asks Ryan if they can grab some motorcycles and just ride off into the sunset. He thinks it's a good plan. Greens realizes he is only humoring her and wouldn't really leave Spike and Emma. She gets in her car to leave and both hear a news report that someone has died.
