In the doll warehouse, Janet tells Jenny what a bad person Adam is and how much of a better mother she will be than Krystal. "I think I need to show them just how unworthy they are!" she says. Holding the baby, Janet decides she needs a new name. She decides on Moira, which is Amanda's middle name, and begins to name some of the dolls around them. She accidentally knocks over one doll, breaking it and another doll begins crying, driving Janet a little bit crazy. When the doll won't stop crying, Janet covers the head with a pillow and holds it down. Jenny starts to cry. Janet feeds her and the baby calms down as a bright white light shines into the warehouse. A figure that looks like Amanda comes to Janet, telling her that she needs her!
Somewhere in Pine Valley, Janet is walking along with Jenny, telling her that everyone will regret trying to keep them apart!
Back at the hospital, Amanda is still on the phone, trying to get her mother to talk to her, not knowing that Janet has put the phone down to answer the door. She and Babe put Amanda’s cell on speakerphone and overhear a man’s voice saying that they’re there to take the baby. Bad timing – the signal is lost and they lose connection with Janet. They are frantic, and Babe immediately tries to call Krystal, but can’t get an answer. Enter Tad, Jamie, and JR, who immediately call Aidan to have him trace Janet’s cell phone signal. The signal is traced to somewhere within two miles of Pine Valley. They split up – Tad, Jamie, and Amanda off to find Janet and Babe and JR to track down Krystal.
Janet, who has no clue about Adam’s adoption plans, begins to get distressed with the couple in the house. The couple spots the baby and while they’re busy oohing and ahhing over her, Janet tries to call Adam, but also gets no answer. Janet, clearly on the edge of reality, pulls out a knife, scaring the couple who are beginning to notice that something’s not quite right about her. She uses the knife to cut them a slice of coffee cake – her favorite recipe – while they wait for “Mr. Prince” (AKA: Adam) to meet them and finalize the adoption. While eating, however, she is bombarded with the memory of Erica’s television plea for Janet to call Amanda and begins to lose it. She bundles up the baby, tells the couple she’s going to get the baby pretty and fresh before she leaves, and disappears into a back room with her.
Tad, Jamie, and Amanda burst through the door of Janet’s hideout and come face to face with the adoptive couple, still sitting on the couch, and an empty crib. Amanda immediately recognizes her mother’s favorite coffee cake. They search the house, but Janet and the baby are gone.
In her new digs, Janet cuddles the baby, talking about their future. She imagines the future she will make with Adam and the baby. "And if Adam Chandler disappoints us, he is going to regret it," she tells Jenny! Moments later, Janet turns on the television and hears Erica's plea that she call Amanda. She picks up the phone and dials but before the call is put through a knock interrupts her. She puts the phone down as Amanda answers! At the door, the adoptive parents apologize for being early. She asks who they are. "We came to take our new baby home," they tell her!
At the Chandler mansion, two guards come in, pulling Tad off of Adam at gunpoint! Adam tries to convince them that he didn't take Jenny but gets nervous when Jamie tells him they have an eye witness! Calmly, Adam pours a drink, telling them that they have nothing on him. Tad refuses to leave and when Adam makes a comment about Kate, Jamie has to hold him back. Adam points the finger at Jamie, who helped Babe take Miranda but no one is listening to his explanations. "You're doing this to torture Krystal. Just tell us where Jenny is," Tad begs. Adam offers to let them search the house. When they finally leave, Adam asks Tad to give Krystal his condolences! JR hangs back when the others leave, telling Adam that his only family is now Tad and Jamie! Alone, Adam calls Janet to check on the baby. Janet practically bursts with excitement because she and the baby are getting along so well. Stuart arrives, and when Adam is flippant about Jenny becomes angry. "I want that baby back now," he says, "and I'm not playing!" Adam professes his innocence but Stuart doesn't believe him. Stuart tells Adam that if he doesn't fix what he has done, Stuart will turn his back on him! He asks Adam what Charlotte would do if she knew the truth and storms out of Adam's office.
Back at the Chandler mansion, Adam hangs up on Amanda when he realizes the adoption lawyer is on the other line. He tells Adam that the adoptive parents are on their way. Glad, Adam hangs up as Janet calls. She tells Adam that she needs more things for the baby, starting with a few more receiving blankets and the complete works of Mozart! She is taking her mothering role very seriously. Adam spots Colby in the doorway and hangs up. She enters, telling him that she made a mistake in leaving! "I'm here to stay, Dad. Will you take me back?" she asks. When Adam says she can stay, Colby tells him to give Krystal back her baby!
In the Chandler mansion, Janet realizes that the baby Adam has given her is Krystal's! "How could you do this?" she asks and is perplexed when Adam tells her that Krystal deserves this - for lying to him! Janet holds the baby, trying to protect her from Adam's anger. He tells Janet that he couldn't leave the baby to be ruined by Krystal and Tad. "Who is the best mother I know?" he says, asking for Janet's help. He tells her that as much as he would like to, he can't keep Jenny at the mansion and then asks if she would help him give the child a better life. "I will take care of this child as if she were my own," Janet says. Adam offers to help but informs her that he'll have to send them both away for a while first! He says he will join them as soon as he can, though. Adam kisses Janet on the forehead to convince her that he wants a future with her!
In the attic, Adam is trying to dig his way through the walls to escape. Janet puts her arms around him and holds him close. "There are plenty of women who would want to be trapped with you," she says! Adam backs away in disbelief that Janet wants him sexually. "I'm an excellent companion," she says, braiding lanyards together. Janet asks Adam what is really going on, but he skirts the issue. Seeing what Janet is doing, Adam asks her to braid the bed sheets together to get them out of the attic. "Try. For me, for us," he says when Janet isn't sure she can do it! Janet manages to get the sheets and covers braided together and Adam heads out the window. "Be careful, my knight," she says! A few moments later, Adam returns to the attic, this time through the door. He appears to be hopeless. With tears in his eyes, Adam tells Janet that Tad has stolen everything from him - his daughter, his wife, his future! "He won't get away with it," Adam vows and prepares to put his plan of revenge into action!
