At the hospital, Zoe and Bianca wait to see Dr. Massey. Zoe knows it is time to move forward with the transition but she is so scared of that step. "I wanted this my whole life," she cries, but is still scared. Her biggest fear is going through the process and still being lost at the end of the journey! Bianca encourages her to move forward, to take the step and promises to be with her through the process. JR watches from the hall. He approaches them and apologizes to Zoe. "Just because I don't understand her doesn't give me the right to treat her as less than a human," he says. Erica arrives and pulls JR away as a nurse invites Zoe and Binks inside the office. Dr. Massey asks Zoe about her reasons for wanting to begin the hormone therapy and listens closely as Zoe talks about her own research and feelings toward the process. Zoe becomes uncomfortable as Bianca and the doctor talk about the risks. Dr. Massey leaves to take a call and Bianca tells Zoe to think before she acts. She believes the actions are too extreme and too dangerous and wants Zoe to reconsider. Zoe doesn't want to rethink things. She is ready! Dr. Massey comes back. "I would like to begin hormone administration. Right now," Zoe tells her and is stunned when Dr. Massey tells her no! There is a protocol, so Zoe can't just start taking the drugs. She must be analyzed by a psychiatrist first. Binks encourages Zoe to do this, and she decides to follow the doctors orders. Zoe is stunned to learn about a local support group meeting. Dr. Massey invites her to attend but she doesn't know if that is something she really wants to do.
To The Future!
At her home, Kendall wonders where Zach may have gone. Erica can't believe that he would just leave Kendall alone! Kendall leaves to check on Spike and Erica tries to sing Ryan's praises while running down Zach's deficiencies to Binks. Bianca doesn't want to hear it but Erica keeps digging at Zach. Kendall returns, telling Erica that she doesn't know what she is talking about. Kendall explains that Zach is doing what he needs to do to come to terms with what Alexander did. "If he needs a little time alone, I think he's entitled to it," she says. Erica can't believe how well Kendall is adjusting to what has happened; Kendall tells her it is because of Erica. She taught her girls how to fight and that fighting instinct is what helped her survive. Erica hugs both of her daughters, but she isn't through with Kendall yet. Erica tells Kendall that Zach has brought nothing but mess and heartache to her. Kendall can't believe where Erica is headed and wonders why she can't see that Zach's trials are just like Kendall's own problems. It took years and a lot of mistakes before Kendall to come to terms the kind of man her father was. She doesn't know how Erica can just forget the heartache that Kendall caused! Now that she has overcome her demons, Kendall is determined to give Zach the support he needs so that he can comes to terms with his own demons. Seeing that she isn't getting anywhere, Erica calms a little. The women open a bottle of wine and toast to the future.
It's Over!
In Vegas, Ryan watches Zach and Kendall together and is touched by their love. Zach approaches to apologize to him. "It all worked out okay," Ryan says and offers his hand to Zach. The men shake hands, coming to a new understanding. Kendall comes in, asking if Spike can come home! Ryan calls Annie, who says she will have Spike at Kendall's by the time they get home. Kendall paints a picture of domesticity - meals with Spike, playing with Spike and loving one another! Ryan asks Kendall if he can still see Spike any time and she assures him that he can. Ready to see her family but not wanting to stay at the mansion, Kendall tells Zach that she can't go back there. The place is too similar to Alexander's duplicate. Zach calms her, telling her that he'll find them the perfect new home! At the casino apartment, Binks and Erica are waiting for Kendall with Spike. Zach enters behind her, but quickly leaves.
Truths Are Revealed
At her apartment, Bianca sees Zoe returning and is torn between relief and anger. She doesn't understand why Zoe left the hospital without a bodyguard and without telling anyone where she was going. Calm, Zoe tells Bianca she is fine and is sorry that she was frightened. "I just want you to be safe," Bianca says, explaining that no one in her family seems safe any more. She explains that Zach took Kendall but Jack seems worried. Finding out Zoe was gone and alone made her even more worried. Zoe tries to comfort Binks, assuring her that things will be fine with her family. Together they make cookies and Bianca questions Zoe about Zarf. Is he a part of Zoe, like Zoe was part of Zarf, she wonders. Zoe isn't sure; she is trying to read the line between Zarf/Zoe but hasn't figured everything out yet. She goes on to say that she does want to rid herself of a few of Zarf's ideas - like being with Binks! Zoe understands that she was overwhelming to Bianca and apologizes. Bianca understands that, though. She did the same with her friend Frankie! With new insight into each other, Zoe and Bianca agree to start over. Zoe tells Binks she has found a gender-reassignment doctor in Baltimore and the news shakes Bianca up. What about staying in Pine Valley, she wonders. "You're going to need someone you can count on," Bianca says. Feeling close to Bianca, Zoe tells her she will stay in Pine Valley.
All Roads Lead To Vegas!
In Zoe's hospital room, Bianca assures her that Ryan will find out who the button belonged to. She is troubled after hearing a song on the radio - it has made her think of old times with Maggie. Crying, Bianca hugs Zoe tightly and then leaves.
A few minutes later, Bianca arrives at police headquarters to ask Jack and Derek about the button. She also wants to know if any DNA was recovered from Zoe's jacket. Realizing they still don't know about the button, Bianca tells them about the crest and explains that she gave it to Ryan. Jack and Derek can't believe she would take evidence to Ryan instead of them. Binks describes the button and both men wonder if the bird on the button could be the bird Dani remembered seeing after her attack! An officer brings Jack a message - it's from the killer! Jack sends the officer to get a description of the messenger, but unfortunately no one saw him clearly enough. An officer comes in, telling them about a disturbance at Kendall's new apartment! Jack, Derek and Bianca hurry from the station. They get to the apartment and find Jenkins, dead. It appears that he has been pushed from a balcony - just like Zach's mother! Jack is worried about the note. It said the killer left a parting gift now that he has what he wants and Jack wonders if Jenkins is the "gift". Derek suggests bringing Kenny in for his own protection, believing that the killer is now targeting prior suspects.
"Anyone could be next," Jack exclaims. He tries calling Kendall and then Zach but can't get through to either of them. The three return to the police station where the DNA test results are in - the DNA from the attack on Zoe comes back to a relative of Zach's!
Setting A Trap
At the penthouse, Bianca shows Ryan the button she found at the cemetery. "What does this mean to you?" she asks. Ryan puts the button in tissue to examine it as Bianca tells him where she found it and why. Ryan sits down, uneasy because he recognizes the emblem as the Cambias crest. More worried than ever, Bianca wonders if there could be an unknown Cambias running around killing people. Ryan assures Bianca there are no living Cambias family members other than Zach and Miranda. Believing they should take the button to Tad or the police, Ryan is taken aback when Bianca tells him the police aren't doing enough. She wants Ryan to investigate the button on his own! Ryan picks up the button, agreeing to her plan.
At the hospital, a figure in black approaches Zoe's hospital bed. It's JR! The two argue, with JR surprising Zoe, telling her that she needs to back off from telling everyone that he was blackmailing Babe. If she doesn't, Krystal's secret could be blown sky high! "Nobody is going to find anything out unless you blow it!" JR says. He explains that he won't tell anyone about Krystal's baby because Babe wouldn't want that. JR tries to convince Zoe that he is truly sorry for the way he acted toward Babe before she died. Zoe isn't sure what to believe but realizes this JR is different from the one who left her in the cemetery. Bianca arrives as Zoe tries to figure out the visit from JR. "What if I'm wrong about him? What if I'm wrong about everything?" she asks.
Digging For The Truth
At the Chandler mansion, Bianca ignores Adam and Krystal, focusing her anger on JR. When she lets it slip that JR was blackmailing Babe before she died, however, Adam gets interested in his son's actions. JR tries to cover by telling Bianca the blackmail was a figment of Zoe's imagination. He asks Binks to leave and Krystal agrees with him, but Bianca has more to say. It isn't just his actions against Babe that have her angry. JR also left Zoe, beaten, in the cemetery! Krystal and Adam are surprised that he would leave her there, and JR tells Bianca that Zoe was drunk. Adam backs JR up, telling Bianca that Zoe probably brought on the attack herself! Krystal begins to side with Bianca - Zoe should not have been left in a beaten heap and she shouldn't be joked about! Getting more angry by the minute, JR tells Bianca he isn't in the mood for a lecture. Bianca rolls her eyes and leaves. JR gets ready to leave for the hospital and an AA meeting, but Adam has more questions for him. Adam wants to know why he was blackmailing Babe - and why that had Krystal so upset! JR says it was just the picture, but Adam thinks there is more. JR won't tell him, though, saying it doesn't matter. Krystal quietly stands in the background waiting for it to blow over. When Adam continues his question, JR leaves the house angrily. Alone, Adam asks Krystal to tell him the truth - what were she and JR really fighting about? Krystal tells him it was all about the tacky, mean spirited photo. Trusting Krystal, Adam hugs her, glad they are still living the honesty policy. Krystal, though, is increasingly worried that Adam will learn her secret!
In Zoe's hospital room, Derek and Jack continue questioning her about the attack. Zoe doesn't remember anything about the attacker and Derek wonders if Bianca was right. Could this attack not be related to the Satin Slayings? If so, Derek believes he can be better used elsewhere. Zoe stops both men from leaving as a memory comes back. The killer spit on her! Jack pounces on the information, ready to begin running DNA tests but Derek doesn't care. He is only interested in the Satin Slayer. Julia comes in with water and pain medication. Alone in the room, she apologizes to Zoe for the treatment at Wildwind. Zoe tells her not to worry about it, she's just uncomfortable in her own skin. Julia offers to get her in touch with a therapist but Zoe isn't interested. As Julia finishes up with Zoe, she encourages her to face the world as her real self. In the corridor outside Jack confronts Derek about his treatment of Zoe. The two argue over Zoe's story, which Derek doesn't believe. Bianca arrives and Jack tells her they will look into the possible DNA information. She goes inside and Derek tells Jack he still isn't convinced of Zoe's story. "With all due respect, I am ordering you to run that DNA test - and I mean right now!" Jack exclaims. Back inside, Julia and Bianca give tips to Zoe on how to be a woman - like not going certain places alone. "If you're going to live your life as a woman, it's going to be different," Bianca instructs. The attack, all the rules of being a real woman have Zoe very confused. Julia leaves Bianca and Zoe alone and Zoe has another flash of memory. She ripped a button off the attacker's coat! Bianca leaves to look for the evidence! Derek arrives to take Zoe's clothing for testing. He doesn't say anything, but it is obvious he isn't happy about his job!
At the cemetery, Bianca talks to Babe's grave about Zoe's visit. "Did you see what happened to her?" she asks, and tells "Babe" about the coat button. Bianca tries to reenact what may have happened and wanders around the area. She finds the button, near the bench where Zoe was found. Binks immediately recognizes the crest on the button - it's a Cambias crest!
