Kendall and Erica bring Ian home for the first time. Myrtle is there, waiting for them. Kendall is excited to see her but upset that Zach hasn't come home yet. The doorbell rings and Josh arrives with a balloon bouquet and a gift for Ian. Kendall is disappointed that he isn't Zach but is thankful that Josh remembered the big day. Myrtle welcomes him and Erica gives him a big hug. Erica calls Jack but he doesn't answer so she leaves a message they are waiting at Kendall's for him. Once she is off the phone, Myrtle asks Erica what is going on. She says she is worried about her relationship with Jack. The chef arrives to cater their meal and Kendall asks her to set six places at their table, just in case Jack arrives. Myrtle tells Kendall that nothing will stop Zach from getting home to her. Kendall daydreams that Zach is home and everything is fine.
Kendall and Ryan arrive back at the hospital as Erica walks in. Kendall and Erica hug, then go into the NICU. Dr. Joe comes in and tells them Ian can go home soon.
Josh arrives at the hospital and Kendall goes straight to him, asking if he's heard from Zach. Josh hasn't. He turns the tables and asks Kendall if she really did set Greenlee up. Kendall swears she was going to stop the whole thing but the escape plan happened before she could. Josh is stunned. Kendall says she planned for everything except Zach and Erica. "Turns out all of us had a plan to take down Greenlee," she says; Josh can't believe how far each of them were willing to go and admits his involvement in Zach's plan. This makes Kendall even more eager to speak with Zach; Josh offers to try to find him for her and leaves. Inside their rooms at the hospital, Kendall is having similar memories to Zach - thinking about the past and how they fell in love. She tells Ian and Spike about their beginnings. A while later Josh returns; he hasn't found Zach yet. Kendall becomes more worried with every minute they can't find Zach. Josh tries to calm her down but Kendall is positive that Zach is either avoiding her or that he is in danger!
Inside the court room, everyone is surprised to find Greenlee is gone. Angrily, Derek confronts a couple of the guards. Ryan watches from outside, knowing Aidan just took Greens, and then turns away and leaves the courthouse. Jack pulls Erica outside, telling her that the "escape" doesn't mean Greenlee is guilty of trying to kidnap Spike. Erica says it does and he angrily tells her that the only reason Greenlee was in court at all was because of Kendall's attempt to frame her! Erica tries to help Jack dry off and apologizes to him because she was a bit harsh. Erica sticks with her story and throws Greenlee's court "confession" in his face. Then she tells Jack that Greenlee's crime isn't his fault because he didn't raise her. Jack throws that back in Erica's face, asking if Kendall's crimes aren't Erica's problem because Erica didn't raise her! Jack returns to the courtroom and calls to find out about Aidan. He is nowhere to be found, which makes Jack curious. He sees Erica across the room and goes to her, saying he doesn't need her there. Erica says she will stand by him throughout this crisis and won't bad-mouth Greenlee. She points out that since Greenlee is likely with Aidan things will be fine. This only makes Jack more upset and he tells Erica he doesn't need her kind of help. Angry, Erica gathers her things and tells Jack if he doesn't need her help, Kendall certainly does! She leaves. Derek returns inside and Jack asks him not to list Greenlee as an escapee but Derek says he can't. He tells Jack they are going to set up border patrols soon.
Back in the courtroom, Zach points out to a feeling-guilty Kendall that Aidan wasn't in court. This only makes Kendall worry more. She asks Zach to come with her to the hospital to take Ian home, where they can protect him from Greenlee! Along with Spike, Kendall and Zach arrive at the hospital and demand that Joe allows them to take Ian home. Joe refuses, saying Ian isn't ready. He assures them that Ian is safe at the hospital. Kendall comes up with a new solution: the Slater's will just move into Ian's NICU room! Kendall proceeds to head in to Ian's room and sets up camp. Zach asks Joe if they can bring in a few cots to sleep on. When Joe is gone, Kendall starts to go on about confessing the truth. Zach tells her it is too late for that and if she confesses now, she'll go to jail. Kendall brings up Derek but Zach tells her it has to end now, without Kendall confessing anything. Joe returns a few minutes later to help them set up. As he talks to them Erica walks in and stops him, thinking he is about to "out" her secret. Annoyed, Joe tells her that he was only helping them move in to the room and tells her to tell them everything else. When they are alone, Kendall demands to know what Erica did. Erica tells them that she was behind the attempted commitment of Greenlee; Zach is impressed. Kendall is furious and tells Erica that what she did is only one more reason for Greenlee to try to get revenge on them! She tells both Zach and Erica that Greenlee was moving on but they all kept her locked in the past. Zach leaves to get their security detail set up. When they are alone, Kendall tells Erica that Greenlee won't stop this time. Erica reassures Kendall that no one will get near Spike or Ian. She tells Kendall that things will work out. In the hall, Zach finds Josh and gives him a new job: find Aidan. Zach tells Josh about Aidan's "death threat". He returns to the NICU and his family.
In the courtroom, the judge asks Greenlee if she truly understands what she is doing by pleading guilty. Greens insists she knows what she is doing and that she wants to plead guilty. Greenlee can't take her eyes off of Kendall. Greenlee returns to her seat as the DA lists the charges against her. The judge asks if Greenlee has anything to say and Greenlee turns to face Kendall and Zach! Back on the witness stand, Greenlee starts at the very beginning - with Spike's conception! "Bottom line she was living my life with my son," Greenlee says, admitting how obsessed she was. Greenlee, though, is talking about when she first returned to Pine Valley. She goes a little farther and makes up a story about creating the journal. Focused on Kendall, Greenlee says she has forgotten about friendship and forgiveness - because all she wants now is her life! Greenlee goes off on a tangent about having Ryan's babies in the future, too and tells the judge to ask Zach about that. Tad is shocked. Jack is horrified. Kendall is scared to death. Greenlee just keeps talking, making up stories and explanations about just how evil she is. Jack tries to stop Greenlee from talking but she won't stop. "Who cares if my life is destroyed? At least my son will know all about his mother," Greenlee says. Kendall stands up and tells Greenlee to stop! Feeling guilty, Kendall tries to set things straight but Zach and Josh stop her. Greenlee dares her to come clean. Zach grabs Kendall and walks her out of the room. Josh angrily confronts Greenlee.
Outside the courtroom, Kendall begs Zach to let her tell the truth. She thinks Greenlee is really losing it, because of her, and wants to make things right. As she tells Zach they have to face the consequences, Erica walks up and tells Kendall she cannot do that! "You have to think of your family," Erica says. Jack comes out then and reminds them that he - and Greenlee! - used to be part of the family. No one says anything and Zach takes Kendall back to the courtroom. Tad is watching them all while he stands beside the fire alarm! The judge calls things back to order but before she can sentence Greenlee, Kendall tells her to stop! Just then, sirens begin going off, the sprinklers activate and the courtroom turns into chaos! Guards come in but Greenlee is nowhere to be found. Ryan arrives and catches Aidan, in a fireman's get-up, taking Greenlee from the scene. He lets them go!
Zach arrives at work. As Lily is presenting his appointments she realizes he is quite distracted and asks what is bothering him. Zach tells Lily about Spike's good news and then asks what is new with her. Lily tells Zach about her new friend "Richard" and his love of numbers. Lily asks what else is going on and tells Zach she knows he is upset. Zach tells her that he has a solution for his problem but he doesn't like the solution any more than he likes the original problem. They talk about how they would protect their families. Josh walks in, excited because he just heard about Spike. Zach sends Lily off. Zach tells Josh that things aren't as simply as he had hoped and Josh realizes he is having second thoughts. Zach says the second thoughts don't matter because he has to protect his family. Josh reminds Zach that he can stop the plan at any moment. Zach says he has to move forward.
Zach and Greenlee are arguing at the hospital. She asks him about the embryos but he doesn't answer. Josh listens in from the hallway; Julia comes over and tells Greenlee that her appointment has been rescheduled. Greenlee walks off and Zach asks Josh about Greens' doctor - Josh says the doc is a fertility specialist! Zach likes this piece of information and leaves. Julia follows Greenlee and asks if she is okay. Greenlee vents a little about Zach and asks Julia if they can talk. They sit down and Greenlee apologizes for venting to her. "It's like one look at him and I'm right back there at the night of the blackout," she says. She goes on to tell Julia that she has to understand exactly what happened that night to be able to let it go. Julia isn't sure Greenlee should go there but offers to help her do some research. Julia tells Greenlee what she knows: that frozen embryos can be viable for a decade or more and that fertility docs prefer that women have all of the procedures done in the same office as that of the embryos. She asks Greenlee if she is thinking about having a baby. Greenlee admits that she is but isn't sure if she'll go through with it. They talk about becoming moms and Julia tells Greenlee about the things Greg did to her. Julia brings up adoption but Greenlee thinks she wants to try for a biological child first. Julia tells Greens not to give up, no matter which route she takes. The nurse joins them and tells Greenlee that the doctor is ready for her.
In the NICU, Josh tells Zach that he is having second thoughts about the Greenlee plan. Zach is focused on Ian until Josh talks about the harm they could do to Greenlee's psyche. He reminds Josh of the things Greenlee has done to Ian, Spike and Kendall. Josh tells Zach that he can't keep working on the next project because of the things that Greg did in the past. Zach is understanding and offers Josh an out. He, however, is going to keep working on the project because even if Greenlee stays in Pine Valley, Zach is certain that at least he can protect Kendall and the boys because Greens will be out of Fusion. "Greenlee is a threat to my family," he says, "and I will do what needs to be done." Greenlee walks past, sees Josh and Zach - they don't see her - and then walks away. Josh asks Zach how he will explain things to Spike and Ian; Zach doesn't have an answer to that. He tells Josh that he can't stop the plan but tells Josh that he can back away any time. He says Josh will understand when he has a woman in his life who is more important than anything else. Kendall calls and asks Zach to bring Spike home tonight.
