When the judge asks if Erica is sure she wants to start her sentence now, Josh and Kendall freak out. They try convincing Erica to wait the three weeks but she won't. Kendall stomps over to Samuel and confronts him about how much of a menace Erica is. Zach and Josh calm Kendall down. Meanwhile, Jack says he is surprised at her request but isn't angry. The judge adjourns court and the reporters rush in to question Erica. Greenlee and Aidan, in the back of the courtroom, argue about the effect Erica is having on Jack this time around. Greenlee hopes Jack can finally move on with Erica out of the picture. She walks out. Aidan and Zach talk about Erica's decision. The reporters turn to Jack, who tells them to ask Samuel about Erica's prosecution. Sam is happy to step forward and give his nobody-is-against-the-law-schpeil. Kendall talks to Erica, who tells her to focus on Zach and the boys and forget about Aidan and Ryan and any other men. Erica advises Kendall to tell Zach the whole truth about LA but Kendall doesn't want to. She leaves. Greenlee approaches Jack and asks what Erica is really up to. Jack doesn't know. "Why is everyone treating her like she's Mother Theresa?" Greenlee asks. Jack says she shouldn't be so hard on Erica. Erica walks up to Samuel and claps her hands. She asks when his official campaign announcement will be but Sam won't comment. Jack backs up Sam, telling Erica that he really fought for her in the judge's chambers. Erica is stunned. "I hope we meet again," Samuel says charmingly and then leaves. Greenlee is curious about the prosecutor.
In the hallway, Aidan tells Zach about his visit with Ryan at conFusion. As they talk, Kendall walks up and asks what Aidan did to Ryan. Aidan tells her and Kendall thanks him. All three return as Erica is hauled off to jail. She tells everyone that she will be fine. Jack is very broken up as he watches her leave the courtroom. Greenlee apologizes to him but then ruins the father/daughter moment by telling him he should start dating again. Jack walks out of the room. Kendall takes Zach aside and says she lied to him. She tells him about meeting with Ryan at the bar in LA and says she is sorry she didn't tell Zach sooner. When she assures him that she only wanted to help Ryan but now realizes she can't, Zach forgives her.
Criminal Kane!
Zach and Kendall arrive at the courthouse just as the judge says he isn't bound by the sentencing recommendations or Erica's deal! Both Jackson and Samuel object but he won't give in. They agree to meet in chambers; on his way there Jack tells Erica not to give up. Josh, Kendall and Zach hover over her but Erica wants space. She asks Zach to look into the judge, believing he may be in on something with Samuel! Zach tells Erica to calm down and to distract her brings up Ryan's LA visit. Just then Greenlee walks in, aggravating Erica. She is very sympathetic but that only worries Erica more. Greenlee and Zach go into the hall. Erica focuses on Kendall, saying that she needs to keep her distance from Aidan and Ryan and any other man so that she doesn't ruin things with Zach. Kendall angrily tells Erica that she can handle her own life.
In the hall, Zach says he knows about Kendall's secret meeting with Ryan. Greenlee says she knows about it, too. Zach wonders why Kendall wouldn't tell him and Greens suggests that Kendall just didn't want to worry him. They follow Jack and Sam into the courtroom. Erica goes straight for Samuel's throat, telling him he won't get away with this. Jack interrupts, saying Sam fought for her. Erica is surprised. Samuel and Jack tell her they don't know what the judge is going to do and Jack tells her that she has to be contrite and apologetic when the judge returns. "Because you are your own worst enemy," he says. The judge returns. Erica stands and solemnly pleads guilty. She apologizes to the judge and implores him to believe that she wasn't trying to pull one over on anyone or hurt anyone and that she deserves her punishment. The judge orders her sentence: a $5 million find, 2 years of community service and 6 months in a federal prison. Erica is relieved. The judge gives her 3 weeks to prepare for her stay; Erica says she is ready to go now.
Don't Ever Touch Me Again!
Josh arrives at Erica's just before her court sentencing and tells her not to take Samuel's deal! He says by going to trial Erica has a better chance of winning; Erica says this way she will stop Sam's headline-grabbing tactics. She thanks him for trying to help her but insists she is doing the right thing. She asks him to help Zach keep an eye on her financial interests and he agrees. She says she will use the time to write another book. They talk about Samuel for a while and Erica decides that Sam is threatened by successful women and that is why he is hounding her. "And, he is utterly attracted to me," she says.
Jack finds Samuel at the Valley Inn and tells him to stop persecuting Erica. Samuel compares his prosecution of Erica to Dr. Martin Luther King's "Do The Right Thing" speech. Jack says sending Erica to jail isn't the right thing and suggests if she were poor Sam wouldn't prosecute her. He goes upstairs to pick up Erica at her hotel room. Erica dons a disguise - a short, black wig and oversized sunglasses - and they proceed to the courthouse. Amid the cacophony of reporters wanting answers, Samuel approaches and tells Erica she shouldn't go inside just yet. Sam tells Erica about Jack meeting him at the Valley Inn. Josh tries to call Erica inside but a woman starts yelling from inside the courtroom and Sam says they need to stay out. Erica goes inside anyway. Carmen Morales is the defendant. She swears that she is an innocent victim and that she didn't do anything wrong. She tries to run from the courtroom after the sentencing but runs straight into Erica! Carmen asks Erica to sign her arm but the bailiffs haul her out of the courtroom first. Erica is called to the stand for her sentencing. Sam tells the judge their deal. The judge says the charges are too serious for such a light sentence!
Adam Wants A Fresh Start
Josh and Zach are working on a new deal for Cambias but the deal falls through. "I smell Chandler all over this," Zach says, ordering Josh to find out what Adam has planned. Josh leaves as Annie shows up. She has articles about Spike's implant and tells him about Ryan's breakthrough. Zach reads Spike a story and Annie laughs at his animal noises. As they chat, Zach's business contact calls back and says a meeting definitely won't happen. Annie charms the Italian into changing his plans. A little later, Annie apologizes for bringing up Ryan - again. Zach shrugs it off. Annie leaves for work. Outside Zach's, Annie tries calling Ryan but doesn't get through.
Planes, Trains and a Fashion Show
Erica is having the final fitting for the fashion show when Jack arrives. Pam arrives and Erica gives her instructions. Jack tries to talk to her about the FCC and the IRS but Erica won't talk about it. Pam returns with the Sam Woods footage and all three watch. Pam leaves to finish editing; Jack tells Erica she needs to distance herself from Sam quickly! Erica thinks he is jealous. Jack says Sam is a shady character but she won't listen. Aidan is finishing his fitting as Josh arrives, looking for Kendall. Aidan asks Josh how his love life is and tells him to take a chance on a woman.
Krystal and Tad arrive at the fashion show. She tells him about what she did. Tad says he did the same thing with Jesse! The fashion show kicks off with Kendall and Greenlee center stage. They talk about Fusion and the Campbell's cause. Samuel Woods is in the audience and Jack stares at him. Kendall invites Erica on stage who talks about strong women. She introduces the first male model - Aidan! He struts the catwalk, throwing roses to the ladies in the audience and then kisses Greenlee before leaving the stage. Babe hurries over from backstage to ask Krystal about JR; he isn't there yet. Tad wonders if he'll see Jesse again. Zach arrives at the fashion show and hugs Kendall. Erica makes a beeline for Samuel, who flirts a little with her. Jack watches them, not happy at all. He interrupts but Sam blows him off. Kendall finds Annie and asks if she is okay; Annie says she is as okay as she can be. Just then Ryan arrives. He can't take his eyes off Kendall but tries to talk to Annie. Babe rushes around a little more, looking for JR but not finding him. Aidan notices that Greenlee is distracted; she asks if he can keep a secret.
Greenlee Can't Breathe!
Ryan and Josh meet at conFusion. Josh tells Ryan that he shouldn't have been surprised at Zach's reaction to the Africa plan because it was crazy. Ryan admits he could have thought it through more but insists that he just wants to change the world. Josh asks how Annie is reacting to his sudden changes and Ryan says she is taking it all in stride.
