After Ryan leaves, Josh comes in and tells Kendall that she can't stop him from telling Ryan the truth. He doesn't want Ryan to miss Emma's childhood the same way Jeff Martin missed his. He cannot be swayed, he claims. "Not even if I offer you Babe?" counters Kendall, and begs him not to tell Ryan.
The phone rings and it's Zach, insisting that Kendall come to their new house immediately. When she arrives, he tells her there are things she doesn't know about this house—things he has to tell her. It's things about his childhood, memories that come flooding back every time his in their "dream house." He shows Kendall a picture of his mother.
He says that his memories of his mother are hazy…but he thinks he killed her.
New Year's Eve Surprises
Josh and Kendall are arguing about whether to reveal Emma's paternity to Ryan. Kendall insists it's her call to make, and Ryan will not be told. They begin to argue, and Josh yells that he can't keep this information from Ryan and Annie. At that moment Ryan walks in with Spike, and wants to know what's going on.
Hellos and Goodbyes
After leaving the Valley Inn lounge, Babe's alone and scared in the parking garage. She hears footsteps. Who is it? Suddenly, Josh and George the bodyguard arrive. They search the garage, but can't find anyone. After they leave, Zarf wanders out of the darkness.
After calming down in Josh's room, Babe says it's time for her to go home. An anguished Josh tells Babe that he can't forget about her. As she's leaving, she spots a wrapped Christmas gift and realizes it was meant for her. Yes, says Josh, he still wants her to have it. She opens it—a gold compact with the inscription inside: "You Are Loved."
Kendall's cell phone rings as she and Spike are sitting at the ice rink, watching Emma, Ryan and Emma skate. It's Josh, with the news that he has the DNA test results on Emma's parentage. He comes over to tell her that her suspicions are true: Emma is Ryan's biological daughter.
Home for the holidays
Myrtle is visiting a depressed Erica on Christmas Eve. When she tells Erica that it's clear she still loves Jack and should be home, Erica says that if Jack still loves her, he's the one who should come to her and apologize. Palmer arrives to escort Myrtle to dinner.
Sean comes to see Erica and tell her that Jack wants her to come home. He also hands over another "J" gift—a chocolate heart.
Josh next comes to see Erica, and he tells her that if he's had any part in the problems between Erica and Jack, he's sorry. Erica suddenly makes a decision and takes Josh and goes home, where she has a happy reunion with Jack. After she arrives, Sean texts Colby to let her know their plan worked.
Farewell to Simone and Erin
The two lost women of Fusion "fought like warriors" for the people they loved, says Kendall in her eulogy.
Jon tries to pay tribute to Erin, but is too broken up to continue with his eulogy for his sister.
The remaining Fusion women place roses on the coffins and hold hands, surrounding their lost friends.
After the service, Tad and Aidan ask Derek to let them help him find what appears to be a serial killer. He tells them to "stay out of his way"—and keep an eye on their loved ones.
Tad declines to go to the post-funeral reception, and stays to keep vigil at the cemetery. Brooke tells Dixie that Tad's gone off to a place where they can't reach him. What can they do?
Zach tells Kendall he'll be late getting to Fusion. He's going to look for answers. Tad is alone at the cemetery, except for Zach, who approaches and says he wants to hire Tad. Tad is surprised and asks who Zach wants investigated. "Me," Zach replies.
Does this have anything to do with the murders, asks Tad? Zach says there's a message in it—a message to him. He gives Tad a packet of information that he claims is "everything about him" and to do whatever he need to do to find answers. But what does this have to do with Zach, asks Tad? "Gardenia…and a single white ribbon."
Everyone is gathered at Fusion for the reception, where large photos of Erin and Simone are looking out over the guests. Bianca is surprised when Miranda and her nanny arrive, and Miranda rushes to Babe for a giant hug.
Erica shares with Ryan how the love of her family and friends helped her deal with the crushing grief she felt after her mother died.
Josh asks Babe if she's ok, and is skeptical when she says this is going to be a good Christmas.
Kendall checks with Josh to make sure he's going forward with his "investigation" of Emma's paternity. He says he will, and gets Emma to take a sip from a juice box, in order to get a DNA sample.
Later, Kendall's having second thoughts and tells Josh to forget about getting the DNA sample from Emma. After a moment's thought, she tells him to "do it."
Livia tells Jack that he and Erica are being stubborn—and to get back together with her. Isn't that the message of today: treasure the time we have with the ones we love?
Later, she chats with Erica and tells her to think about it, saying nobody wants this divorce.
Babe is on the roof, when Dixie comes out to tell Babe what a great job she doing. And then she drops a bombshell, saying that Krystal "made the right choice."
Ryan speaks to the reception guests about remembering the joy that all of them got out of knowing Simone and Erin, and asks that they all be kind to each other and to the people in their lives.
After Ryan's speech, Erica goes to speak to Jack and tell him about her interactions with Sean. He cares a lot about Jack, says Erica—and so does she.
Everyone's a detective
Josh discovers that Colby has broken into his Valley Inn room, and demands to know what she's really doing there. Josh starts searching his room for whatever Colby has hidden there. Kendall walks in with Spike—grabs Colby by the hair and physically throws her out of the room!
Josh notices how upset Kendall seems, and tries to help. It's Annie. Kendall says that Annie is using Erin's death to "get he claws" into Ryan. Josh tells her he can't understand what the problem is, especially when Kendall insists that she's happy with Zach.
Kendall asks Josh to help her find out if Ryan is Emma's father. Considering the source—David—Josh asks why Kendall is putting any credence in the claims. Kendall agrees it's a long shot, but not knowing is driving her crazy.
Josh reminds Kendall that Emma's father could be many people—including Greg Madden! She promises that if the father is anyone other than Ryan, she will not share the information.
Kendall claims that Annie isn't good enough for Ryan, and he's "settling" for her since he can have Kendall. Josh isn't sure that's good enough—but Kendall asks if he's going to help her by running a sub-rosa DNA test. Will he do that for her? He's in, says Josh.
Search for a killer
Josh finds a napping Babe on the roof, and freaks out, thinking she's dead. She awakes and tells him not to worry, since there are guards at the door, but he insists that it's unsafe. She says she came up there to connect with the spirit of Erin.
He urges her to go home, and suddenly a large guard appears and announces that he's George, and has been hired by JR to guard her 24/7.
Babe is worried that Erin and Simone suffered, but Josh reassures her that the drug made their hearts speed up, but that they didn't suffer.
After Babe leaves, Josh goes back to the office and chats with Zarf, who claims that when he met Babe, she had the most amazing aura he'd ever seen.
Babe goes home and thanks JR for hiring the guard. He replies that he did it for Little A, and notes that he saw Josh standing behind her at the press conference. A curious Babe then asks what exactly is George's job: to protect Little A's mother or spy on an unfaithful wife?
Strictly to protect her, says JR. He wants her to be safe.
Fusion solidarity
Zach begs Kendall to keep Fusion closed until the murderer is caught. She insists she's not going to be afraid and will be going to work. At that moment, Bianca enters and announces she's going to work with Kendall. The head of Cambias Security is on his way to Fusion to protect them.
Bianca explains to Zach that Kane women don't back down from things that scare them. Zach tells Kendall that if she goes to Fusion, he's coming along, since she may be in the greatest danger of all—because of him! He has a bad feeling he can't shake.
Kendall is skeptical of that, and suggests that he's overreacting. Let Derek handle the investigation, she tells Zach.
JR tells Babe the same thing—that she's "not going" to work. She tells him she most certainly is. He calls her an idiot and she leaves, and runs into Josh, who's outside her front door. He says he's going to accompany her to work. Josh takes her to the Fusion office, and announces that he's staying there to protect her.
Kendall, Bianca and Zach arrive at Fusion, along with Danielle. They're all ready to take a stand against the person who's trying to destroy them. Derek is also there to let them know that the Pine Valley Police will be protecting them. Nobody is going anywhere without them notifying him! Zach asks him if he agrees that they're dealing with a serial killer, and Derek says it seems as if they are.
Erica rushes in to make sure her daughters are safe, and trips the alarm, which begins wailing. She's surprised to turn around and see Jack.
Di comes to see Zach to request time off from the casino so that she can help the Fusion staff. A strange man comes off the elevator and Zach slams him to the wall. He turns out to be reporter, and kosher.
Babe, Kendall, Danielle and Bianca appear in a television news conference to talk about Fusion and their lost colleagues. She assures viewers that their loss has strengthened them and their bond to each other.
