Frankie and Angie are working in the Emergency Ward when a man is brought in after a terrible car accident. Frankie sees all the blood and freezes up; another doctor takes his place. Angie goes to Frankie and they watch as the other doctor works on the man and his wife cries in the background. Frankie says the man on the gurney could have been him! Angie says it wasn't him and he needs to let Iraq go. Frankie brings up Jesse, saying that he can't let Iraq go any more than Jesse can let police work go. She realizes he is right. Just then the EMTs bring in Adam. Upset, Krystal goes straight to Angie and begs her not to let anything happen to Adam!
Aidan shows up to Jenny's birthday party but Tad sends him away, saying there is a new case he needs to focus on. As he is leaving, Zach arrives. The two men eye one another but don't speak. Annie shows up just as Aidan is about to leave. He apologizes for showing up drunk and for blabbering on about things. He tells her to just forget everything. "Whatever," Annie says. She goes inside and Zach asks what is going on with Aidan. She shrugs off his interest. Krystal calls all the kiddos into the kitchen for ice cream. Opal and Babe are playing with little A. She tells Babe that Richie hasn't been the best houseguest but he isn't the worst either. She warns Babe to be very careful around Richie. Frankie arrives and Colby makes a beeline for him. She flirts and Frankie ignores her. JR and Adam arrive, surprising Babe. She corners JR and asks why he brought Adam; JR says he promised to play nicely. Across the room, Adam gives Krystal a gift: a blanket similar to one he bought for Charlotte! Krystal is touched but feels uncomfortable around him and hurries away. Annie sits down with Zach and tells him about the divorce papers. As they talk, Annie becomes emotional and wonders if tearing it up was the right thing to do. She brings up Greenlee, which leads to Aidan and she chatters on about his being drunk and mumbling about guilty feelings! Zach is intrigued. Annie tells him not to pay attention to Aidan's drunken ramblings because Kendall explained everything and it was very innocent. Just then Julia arrives with Kathy. She makes a beeline for Tad and they go off to find the cupcakes. Joe and Ruth watch them, wondering if he'll ever find Kate. Colby tracks down Frankie and asks why he keeps avoiding her. Calling her a kid, Frankie says he didn't kiss her back. Annoyed, Colby informs Frankie that she is no kid and that she helped deliver Jenny. Near the front door, Jesse is ready to skip out on the party but Angie tells him they can't leave early again. Just then Rob arrives. Tad wants him to leave but Ruth tells him not to overreact. She says Rob shouldn't be blamed for Ray's past sins. Tad agrees to let him stay but warns Rob that once the cake has been eaten he has to go. Rob goes over to Jesse and asks if they can talk about his time in hiding so that he can pass the information along to the movie producers. The cake is served. Tad grabs one piece, hands it to Rob and says he can go now. Rob graciously pretends that Tad isn't being rude. Tad turns to Jesse and wonders why Rob keeps hanging around.
At the Martin home, Tad and Krystal throw a birthday party for Jenny. Colby is already there when Jesse and Angie arrive. Jesse is thrilled to meet Jenny at last. He and Tad reminisce about the original Jenny and Tad says he believes little Jenny is exactly like his sister. Jesse tells stories about how he first met Jenny and Greg, their prom and other funny events. Then he remembers how Liza tried to ruin things for Jenny by telling her about Ruth's rape. He apologizes to Colby for not liking Liza much and then tells her how he and Jenny got along in New York that summer. He tells them about Jenny's death and the memorial service. He tells little Jenny what Jenny always told him: to be happy you must have something to do and someone to believe in. Angie and Tad watch as Jesse finishes his stories.
Angie and Jesse return home and Jesse realizes the door is unlocked. He cautiously opens it. "Surprise!" yells Tad, Krystal, Colby, Frankie, Stuart and Joe. Tad explains that this is a welcome back party. Jesse and Angie are stunned. Colby asks Frankie how he is doing but it is obvious from the look on his face that having his dad back means everything to him. Dre arrives and Colby introduces the guys. Then, Robert stops in! Frankie tells Tad he invited him. Tad still doesn't trust him. Rob makes a beeline for Jesse and asks what his plans are. Jesse doesn't have any. Robert says he has been contacted by Hollywood about bringing the Papel investigation to the big screen; Jesse isn't interested. He asks about Robert's plans and he says he just wants to relax. Across the room, Krystal asks Frankie how he is getting along with Colby. Frankie says he misjudged her. Joe tells the group several stories about Jesse and then welcomes him home again. Stuart proposes a toast, too. He brings up Cindy and how Angie helped her. He wishes them the best for their second chance. Frankie is next. He talks about dreaming of seeing Jesse on a beach and how Dream Jesse gave him advice. He says he wants to be the same kind of dad someday and then asks Jesse to come with him to the beach. Colby leads Frankie outside as Tad makes his speech. She tells him goodbye and then plants a hot kiss on him. Before he can react, Colby walks away. Back inside, Krystal realizes that they are partying without Jesse and Angie. The party breaks up.
Frankie and Colby convince JR that he needs to see a doctor because he still is not feeling well. Once at the hospital, Angie takes over JR's case. Frankie takes Colby aside and asks how she is doing; she says she can't sleep and keeps thinking about what might have happened in the hangar. Colby asks how he is coping. Frankie tells her about his time in Iraq, saying it helped him cope with the danger in the hangar.
In the hospital room, JR tells Angie that he'll be fine one minute and the next can't hold his head up. He tells her about the kidnapping and she wonders why he didn't go to the police; he says they wouldn't have believed him. Angie looks at the wound on his hip and says it has become infected. She sets him up with tests but says things will go faster if he can figure out who took him. JR is resting when a few memories come back to him! Angie returns. JR's fever has spiked and he is rapidly becoming dehydrated. He asks for Babe as Angie calls for help. Frankie and Colby return. Colby is very worried; Angie tells her to call the family.
Babe picks up Richie. He believes she is taking him to her house to recuperate. When she takes him to Opal's instead, Richie asks what she is trying to do! Opal gets him settled. As soon as they are alone again he asks why Babe isn't letting him stay with her. She says it is because of little A and won't back down. She says letting Richie live with her isn't the right thing to do. He turns on the charm - and tears - saying that when he was in the hospital she led him to believe that they had a romantic future together. Babe tells him she did no such thing. She angrily walks away but Richie sees he has gone too far and turns on the tears again, begging her not to be mad at him. Babe caves in. He nearly ruins it by bringing up JR and touting his bad points. Babe tells him to back off and stop worrying about JR. He asks, if he makes changes, if they can have a future. She says that isn't the way this works. Colby calls and as they talk about JR, Richie listens in and thinks about the marrow donation. Babe gathers her things and hurries to the hospital. Once Babe is gone, Richie throws a little temper tantrum and Opal catches him. She tells him to straighten up because she is psychic. "More like psychotic," he whispers and Opal hears! She sits down and tells him he isn't fooling her.
Babe arrives at the hospital and goes straight to JR's bedside. He holds her hand and says he feels better already. Angie and Frankie return to check his vitals. JR's fever is still very high. Angie shows Frankie the wound and says they need to know who hurt him and what exactly they did very quickly.
Back at the busy Chandler Mansion...Adam shoots the breeze with Robert about Robert’s upcoming retirement. Adam offers to help him out with whatever he needs, in indebtedness for saving Colby. Nearby, Tad, Krystal, and Opal are skeptically watching Adam schmooze with Robert. Opal tries to console Tad, saying she knows how it must feel to have a Gardner back in his life. She asks Tad to try to have an open mind about Robert. Tad reluctantly nods. In the entryway, JR is saying goodbye to Babe, and suggests another game of cards. “If you win, I’ll do anything you want,” he promises. “If you lose, you have to stay here at the mansion.” But Babe doesn’t want to play – she wants to go home to her own place. While Robert steps out to make a sinister-sounding phone call, Adam offers Krystal a drink, but she instead lectures him about not taking care of himself. Colby enters and finds Tad. She says she’s sad that the “full house” is disbanding. Babe presses Colby for details about what happened – she tells them the whole kidnapping story. “Frankie totally saved my life,” she gushes. Frankie shows up and Adam thanks him for everything he did. “For the record, your daughter played a pretty important part, too,” Frankie insists. Colby comes into the room and Frankie gives her a gift – a pair of replacement shoes. She hugs him. “Well…I smell romance,” Krystal says, peeking through a nearby door. Frankie apologizes to Colby for calling her spoiled. “You’re more than Daddy’s Little Rich Girl and I’m sorry it took me so long to see that,” he says. Just as Frankie’s about to leave, JR comes downstairs and stumbles a little. Frankie’s concerned, but JR blames it on “the flu,” and shrugs off pressure to head to the hospital for evaluation. Finally, everyone’s packed and leaving. Krystal turns to Adam to thank him for letting them stay. “Next time you need your life saved, you’ll know where to turn,” Adam says. Tad faces Robert and stiltedly thanks him for last night. Robert assures him that’s what families are for. Again, Adam offers to help out Robert.
Meanwhile in the airport hangar, shots ring out and Colby falls to the floor! Tad and Adam run to her side! Frankie hurries over to care for Colby. The lights come on and Rob calmly walks out. Colby wakes and they realize she only hit her head. Rob says he followed Tad and Adam to the hangar and pulls out a badge, saying he is an FBI agent who has been looking for Rafael for years! Frankie tells Colby she did a good job. Rob tells everyone about Rafael, code name Papel. Tad doesn't completely trust Rob but Adam does. Rob asks what Rafael wanted but Jesse doesn't know. He borrows Tad's phone to call Angie. She cries as soon as she hears his voice. She drops the phone so Krystal talks to Jesse, who says they'll all be home soon. He hangs up as Derek arrives. Jesse turns to Tad, who tells them about Adam's heart pains. Colby overhears and tries to get Frankie to look Adam over but Adam won't allow it and charges off to talk to Rob. Derek returns to Jesse and they get acquainted. Derek asks him to come by the stationhouse soon to make a full statement. He agrees, then asks Tad to take him home. On the way out, Jesse asks Rob more about Rafael/Papel but Rob says they have never been able to figure out what Papel wanted. Derek fills in Tad and Jesse about Mrs. Remington's death. Rob assures them that even though they don't know what Papel wanted, it is over now. Jesse and Tad leave. Rob turns away and whispers, "This is very personal."
