Jack arrives at the prison to see Erica. He asks how she can be sure that she'll be able to come through for Carmen. "Have you ever known me not to keep a promise?" she says. "Only the one you made me on our wedding day," Jack replies! Erica says that was a favor because if they were still married, he wouldn't be able to visit her in prison. Carmen arrives and Jack gives her bad news - Carmen can't work for Erica, Jack or any of their families. Erica takes the news in stride. Adam arrives, annoyed that Erica has summoned him. She offers him a way to change his public image - by hiring Carmen! Carmen watches them and doesn't believe for a second that Erica will pull it off. Adam tells Erica that he won't hire a crazy felon. Erica threatens to feature Adam's own craziness on a future episode if he doesn't comply. He gives in. Carmen is thrilled to learn she is nearly free.
Do You Want Me To Make Her Scream?
Greenlee and Jack are walking near the docks of the Yacht Club. When she starts sniping about Erica, Jack looks at her and says she should just give Aidan a second chance. Greenlee can't believe it. Jack says since she is trying to work things through with Kendall she should do the same with Aidan. Greens can't. Jack keeps pushing her, saying she needs to truly forgive both Kendall and Aidan. Greenlee says she has forgiven enough; Jack says she hasn't forgiven anyone for anything - ever! Staring out to sea, Greenlee wonders if her problems would disappear if she disappeared from Pine Valley. Jack says her problems will always be with her until she deals with them. He leaves. She sees Ryan and convinces him to take a ferry tour with her!
Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!
In prison, Carmen sadly tells Erica that she realized something from the TV show - she will never amount to anything! Erica tries to encourage her, reminding Carmen of the courses she is taking. Carmen says she doesn't have a job or a place to live after her release. Erica questions her about past jobs and Carmen says she was a cook and once worked in a retirement village. She says her dream job is to be Cinderella - working a normal job when a prince comes to rescue her. Jack arrives. He says the judge has granted her a new trial, stunning Carmen. Jack says she will be released on bail during the trial! She hugs Erica, thanking her and crying. Jack says all Carmen needs is a job and a residence and she can leave. She can't live at Erica's because Erica is in prison; they brainstorm options. Carmen signs all the papers and Jack leaves. Erica says she has the perfect solution to her work problem.
Erica's Back On Center Stage!
In prison, Val visits Erica to help her prepare for her new show. Samuel walks in and so does Jack, who is surprised that Erica managed to get approval to tape her show in prison. Sam comes over to ask how they got approval but Erica just smiles at him. Before the show, Erica tells Carmen to just tell her story and then takes the stage. As she talks, the warden watches her closely. Erica invites Samuel to the stage and questions him about the charges he filed against her. She apologizes for insider trading and thanks Sam for pushing the issue! She turns to the camera and thanks her fans for standing by her. She answers a few viewer questions, sent through email. One viewer asks if there will be more Free Erica Rallies and she says there are better causes to rally behind. She defends her prison friends and then introduces Carmen. Carmen looks into the camera and gets stage-fright! Erica tries to lead Carmen with a few questions but all she can say is, "Yeah". Erica takes over and tells Carmen's story for her. Erica appeals to the viewers to take up Carmen's cause and get her released. The show ends.
No Risk, No Reward!
Jack meets Lily at the Yacht Club. They talk about MIT; Lily is worried about leaving Jack alone. When Lily talks about leaving and missing her family, Jack starts to cry. This worries Lily until Jack tells her how happy he is. Lily begins to cry. "No matter where you are, you'll never be alone," he says and holds out his hand. They hold hands for a while. Greenlee and Zach come over to say their goodbyes. Lily suggests that Greenlee work on her non-smiling problems by spending more time with Kendall. Jack and Lily leave. Zach offers to walk Greenlee to her meeting with Kendall, saying she might be able to line up her new conquest while they walk. Kendall arrives at the Yacht Club just then and sees Zach and Greenlee walking together.
...And The Truth Comes Out!
Jack visits Erica in prison; she is glad to hear that Tad is out of surgery. He tells her about Greens learning about the one night stand. Afraid her family desperately needs her and that she can't help, Erica tells Jack she has to get out. Jack says she is needed just as badly in the prison but Erica wants to be with her family more. They touch their fingertips through the wire. Jack promises to visit again soon. Erica is taken back to her cell.
Desperate Times...
Jack stops by Zach and Kendall's a little later on. Jack brings up Greenlee. Zach lets him know that he knows exactly what happened between Kendall and Aidan. Jack says Greenlee deserves better than Kendall's version of friendship. Zach defends his wife, saying Greenlee is no angel either. He says Kendall is trying to fix things with Greens now; Jack can't believe Kendall has gone to Greenlee's.
The Waiting Game Begins...
In the ballroom, Jack confronts Aidan, who apologizes for everything that happened. Jack tells him he should go after Greens but Aidan is certain that Greenlee only needs space. Jack says the sex never should have happened and Aidan agrees.
At the hospital, a nurse begins CPR on Julia. Krystal can only watch as Joe says Julia didn't want surgery. Babe and JR arrive, worried about Tad. Krystal is startled to realize he was shot, too. Just then Frankie and Jake arrive with Tad on a gurney. One surgeon tries to keep Jake out of the OR but he insists on staying. Dixie appears and stands by Tad. Frankie goes to Krystal and fills her in on Tad's condition as Jesse and Angie arrive with Cassandra, Ruth, Opal and Greg in tow. Angie asks Frankie to care for Greg's wound; Krystal tells them that Julia is not doing well. Angie hurries off to find Jake and Tad. She gets to Julia's room first and tries to talk her back to life as the doctors shock her heart. Joe gives instructions for more drugs but Julia is already gone. Angie breaks down as they turn off the monitors and Joe halts CPR. Joe rages against Rob. In the hall, she tells him that Tad was shot, too. Annie arrives, eager to see Julia but Babe holds her back from going into the hospital room. In another treatment room, Frankie gives Greg some instructions on caring for his wound. Greg asks about Julia and Frankie tells him how Julia helped save his life. Frankie blames himself for Rob's actions. Greg says he couldn't have known how evil Rob was. Joe comes into the waiting room and tells everyone about Julia's death. No one can believe it. Joe hurries off to see about Tad. In his treatment room, Joe asks Jake for information. Jake says he is trying to stabilize Tad so they can operate but he's lost a lot of blood. Aidan arrives as Cass tells Frankie about Julia's death. Josh arrives and stands with Joe and Ruth. Jack is alone across the room. JR, Babe and Krystal are leaning on one another as they wait for news about Tad.
Zach calls the hospital and learns that Julia has died. Stunned, he tells Kendall and decides he has to call Maria. They go to the hospital; Zach talks to Joe about contacting Maria and learns that Julia asked Krystal to do it. Kendall sees Aidan at Julia's door and says how sorry she is. Ryan and Greenlee arrive; Jack fills them in. Greenlee sees Kendall and Aidan standing together. Annie walks up, sees Ryan with Greenlee and walks away quickly. Jack asks Ryan to give him a minute with Greenlee and then apologizes for telling her about Aidan and Kendall so abruptly. She says she is okay and asks Ryan to take her home. They leave together. Annie is sitting alone, crying, when she sees a brochure about fertility problems. Jake finally returns to the waiting room. He tells Joe that Tad still isn't stabilized but they can't wait any longer for surgery. Joe looks over the charts and hugs Jake. Krystal asks to see Tad first and Jake takes her into the room. JR realizes no one has called Jamie. Just then Adam arrives and asks what he can do. In the treatment room, Krystal begs Tad to hold on. She kisses him and says, "I love you." Krystal returns and sees Adam; she asks about Kathy. Adam sees Dixie is right behind her.
